We recently visited Resilience Physiotherapy in Toronto’s Annex area and were impressed by their holistic and personalized approach to care. The team, led by Shannon Littlejohn Burnes, brings both expertise and a deep passion for helping patients recover and thrive.

Their focus on understanding the root causes of pain set them apart from other clinics. Whether addressing acute injuries, chronic discomfort, or post-operative recovery, every session felt like solving a unique puzzle tailored to our needs.

Furthermore, Shannon and her team excel at making patients feel seen and heard. Their ability to build genuine connections created an environment of trust and collaboration throughout our treatment.

The integration of physiotherapy with clinical Pilates was a game changer. It not only improved our physical strength but also boosted confidence in our body’s ability to heal and move freely.

We appreciated their clear guidance on navigating the recovery process, turning what could be a daunting experience into an empowering journey. The emphasis on active participation helped us feel in control and optimistic about our progress.

  • The bus stop is a bit far

Toronto Physiotherapy stands out for its extensive range of services and impressive credentials. From its pelvic therapy to specialized cancer treatments, we’re pleased that their amenities ensure patients can access specialized care, all under one roof.

A notable asset to the clinic is Lindsay Davey, a seasoned professional with 15 years of experience specializing in cancer physiotherapy. In our books, such credentials instill confidence in clients, assuring them of receiving the specialized care they require.

Furthermore, it’s notable that Toronto Physiotherapy offers online rehabilitation and home physiotherapy services. We appreciate this as it enables individuals to access expert care from the comfort of their homes when visiting the clinic is challenging.

We also like that comprehensive pricing details are available on their website. This transparency is commendable, sparing clients from the inconvenience of multiple inquiries to obtain pricing information.

Another aspect we like about Toronto Physiotherapy is it operates from two branches: one at Yonge St and the other at Danforth St. Many people we surveyed also liked the convenience of these strategically located branches in the city.

However, we found going to the clinic by bus introduces a slight challenge, as the walk from the bus stop might be a bit of a trek. We believe this could pose a minor inconvenience for individuals relying on transit who may have difficulty walking.

We were also disappointed to find some complaints regarding unresponsiveness and a less-than-approachable demeanour towards clients.

So, we hope that Toronto Physiotherapy improves their communication skills to significantly enhance the overall patient experience!

  • Offers ten types of physiotherapy
  • Staff are accommodative to visiting patients
  • Available on Saturdays
  • Has a strategic location

Cons

  • Can work on responsiveness
  • Some reports of troubles with appointment scheduling

Next on the list of top-tier physical therapy clinics in Toronto is St. George Physiotherapy Clinic. With their 40 years of operation under their belt, we have zero doubts that it has become a stalwart in providing top-notch healthcare to the community.

When it comes to expertise, Natalia Converso, one of their seasoned physiotherapists, stands out. We’re confident that her ten years of experience in orthopedic and sports injuries extends her proficiency from treating headaches to total joint replacements.

As a bonus, Natalia is also fluent in Spanish. In our books, this deserves appreciation because it adds an extra layer of comfort for Spanish-speaking clients.

As for its physiotherapy services, St. George Physiotherapy Clinic offers ten types. With their specialized offerings like shockwave therapy, active release technique (ART), and pelvic floor rehabilitation, we’re glad they’ve got your back – no pun intended!

From our surveys, we found that many patients liked the accommodating approach of the staff. However, some clients have complained about not receiving responses and encountering confusing appointment schedules.

Hopefully, they’ll improve these areas as they are vital for a smoother customer experience.

On a more positive note, we like that they offer virtual therapy services, in addition to their Saturday availability.

Plus, as the facility is located conveniently near several bus stops, St George Physiotherapy Clinic is accessible for those relying on public transportation. And their ample parking space adds an extra layer of convenience if you’re driving there!

  • Available on Sundays
  • Has 24/7 customer service
  • Has ample parking space with PWD spots
  • Near several bus stops
  • Has a strategic location

Cons

  • The clinic only has one physiotherapist

Global Health Physiotherapy Clinic is not just another clinic; they bring two decades of expertise to the table. For us, having over twenty years of experience is enough to lend credibility to a business that provides quality services.

The clinic’s founder, Michael Liougas, is a seasoned physiotherapist and an expert in neurological impairment, orthopedics, and sports-related injuries, among others—impressive, right?

With a pro of his calibre, we’re confident that patients are in capable hands for a wide array of health concerns.

However, it’s worth noting that, unlike others, only Michael is the therapist in Global Health Physiotherapy Clinic. That said, we think peak hours might pose a challenge, so we advise you to plan your sessions in advance to secure your preferred time slot.

On the upside, most patients we spoke with noted that Michael is a motivating therapist during their routine sessions. We’re glad about this because creating a positive and uplifting atmosphere is crucial for a smooth and speedy wellness journey.

We also like that Global Health doesn’t just stop at the basics; they offer 11 types of physiotherapy, from WSIB physiotherapy, TMJ therapy, and assistive devices program therapy.

Overall, we like their packed repertoire because it ensures clients they’ll get a well-rounded approach.

Notably, Global Health also provides online rehabilitation and home physiotherapy services. We appreciate their forward-thinking approach because it makes recovery accessible to more people.

And unlike most clinics in the area, they’re also available on Sundays and have 24/7 customer service! Plus, they’re near several bus stops and have ample parking including a designated PWD slot—a plus for convenience!

  • The physiotherapist has a credible background
  • Has 21 physiotherapy services
  • The clinic has experts from other medical field
  • Has two locations
  • Has a strategic location

Cons

  • Can work on customer communication
  • Closed on weekends

Rebalance Sports Medicine Physiotherapy another exemplary clinic in Toronto. With their over a decade of experience, we’re confident they have expertise and a holistic approach to patients.

Heather Imrie, the co-owner and one of the physiotherapists in the clinic, has a wealth of experience dating back to 2009. From our research, we found that she specializes in orthopedic manual therapy—perfect for those suffering from neuro-musculoskeletal problems.

Meanwhile, we also think it’s notable that Rebalance has 21 physiotherapy services, from concussion treatment, and vestibular rehabilitation to ACL pre & post-op care!

Another aspect we like is the availability of diverse experts in the clinic, from sports medicine physicians to pilates instructors, fostering a holistic approach to wellness.

As for the staff, although many patients we surveyed commended their knowledgeability and approachability, not everything is peachy. We were disappointed to find a few reports of unwelcoming behaviour during phone calls.

And unlike other clinics, Rebalance isn’t open on weekends. For us, this is a letdown because patients busy on weekdays would have difficulty squeezing time for their therapy sessions with the clinic.

If you’re looking to visit, they have two convenient locations, at University Ave St. and Yonge St. We like that both are wheelchair accessible, near to bus stops and train stations, emphasizing inclusivity and accessibility in their facilities.

Pros

  • An award-winning business
  • The physiotherapist has a credible background
  • The physiotherapist is fluent in Tamil
  • The backgrounds of physiotherapists are available on the website
  • Has two locations in the city
  • Has convenient locations
  • Has bike parking space

Cons

  • Closed on weekends
  • Has fewer physiotherapy services

At the heart of Cornerstone Physiotherapy is Rosalina Mahendran, a specialist in orthopedic and pelvic physiotherapy. Although she is a more recent entry in the field than others, we think she has many to offer in her area of expertise.

It’s also worth pointing out that she’s fluent in Tamil. Aside from being a pro for those more comfortable speaking Tamil, we see her language proficiency as a perk because it brings a unique cultural sensitivity to her practice.

Cornerstone Physiotherapy initially caught our eye because of their award-winning services. With their Patient’s Choice Award in 2022, we think it’s a straightforward sign that they can provide quality service.

Plus, we like that Cornerstone Physiotherapy has branches at University Ave St. and Carlton St. in Downtown. We’re glad about these because it provides you with options and convenience of choice.

Since these two branches are Downtown, it’s no surprise that both clinics are accessible via bus or train. On top of that, they have bike parking, which is an added convenience!

Also, despite offering only five types of physiotherapy, their inclusion of core treatments like custom orthotics mitigates their limitations. That said, we don’t consider this a con because they still ensure that patients can still receive essential care.

We were also disappointed to find that they’re closed on weekends.

On the flipside, we like that the detailed credentials of all physiotherapists are conveniently available on the website. We appreciate this because it aids you in selecting the professionals best suited to your requirements.
