Another thing we like is that they have diligent moderators to address any issues or concerns immediately. It’s also good that they have fewer fake user complaints than other dating sites.

But, just a heads up: eHarmony is not as popular for ages between 18-22 years old compared to those over 25.

Hinge has a large user base that’s a solid choice for those looking for serious and long-term relationships. They are known to be popular, especially for those in their mid-20s.

We are impressed with their user profiles since we noticed that the way its design makes it fun to read, and the majority of users take a moment to read.

In addition, we like that they have a helpful photo and text feature. Here, users can post an image and attach a prompt that will help them show their charm and personality. 

Another plus side to this feature is that it doesn’t blur the photo, and all users can access it at no cost.

It’s also noteworthy that Hinge provides many ways to like profiles and help the algorithm figure out what you want. But, they use a roulette-type of matchmaking rather than a scientific method.

Another downside is that the free features are limited. For example, a helpful feature like “Best Matches” will only be available if you subscribe and pay.

We also discovered that they don’t have a desktop version of their application and are only available as mobile apps. 

Furthermore, we also noted some functionality issues, particularly with their “discover” feature, so we hope this gets fixed for a better app experience.

OkCupid started in 2004 and now has over 50 million users worldwide, with a 60:40 ratio of men and women, respectively. 

They were part of the list of the Top 10 dating websites in Time Magazine, but their popularity is US-heavy.

We like that they have a DoubleTake format wherein users can choose to swipe left or right or scroll through multiple profiles. 

Moreover, users usually start by answering a comprehensive questionnaire for profile matching, from climate change to cilantro — to understand what you look for in a partner and relationship.

We also think that it is revolutionary that they provide 22 gender identities and 13 sexual orientation options. It shows that their dating app is very inclusive and open to helping everyone find a match.

Unfortunately, we learned that matching is more difficult for low-populated areas. And there is no video chat feature to help, especially for long-distance matches.

Moreover, we noted many reports of fake users, specifically for accounts with stock photos of models for their profile pictures.

Regardless, we still believe OkCupid is a solid choice for those who don’t want to spend on a subscription. Also, those who did not upgrade can still enjoy most of the app’s features, such as sending messages for free and all their general services.

Badoo has over 470 million registered users and is a fitting app for those looking to socialize, casually date, meet new people and make friends.

That said, most people that use this app are in their late teens and young adults. Therefore, we think it may be difficult for people in their late 20s and above to find a match or even look for a serious relationship.

Notably, we like that their in-app messaging and contacting features are accessible to everyone. There’s no need to pay for messaging a potential match.

Furthermore, we noticed that they have a high member activity, so it will make chatting and matching quicker and easier. 

Another thing we love is their 15-second clip feature, so users can post it on their profiles to highlight their personalities and improve overall visibility. This feature is also helpful since it adds points to their Badoo profiles.

However, we heard some complaints of technical errors, which have caused inconvenience and a poor experience for some users.

On a positive note, they have easy sign-ins like signing in with your Facebook account. Another plus is their in-app game, “Encounters,” allowing users to view and match with users further away from them.

Finally, we like that the things mentioned can be accessed for free, so we think this is one of the best choices for the younger generation looking for some company.

Match is a solid option to find and connect with other single Canadians looking for a serious relationship. Notably, they have about 20 million users worldwide and around 3.2 million monthly visitors.

We like that they have one of the best extensive filtering tools to help users narrow their searches down to the most compatible.

In addition, we love that their sign-ups are very easy, so you can get started as soon as you download the app. It also helps that their interface is user-friendly, and users can navigate through it without much difficulty.

However, their profile approval phase does take a bit longer than others. Still, it is one of their security protocols to avoid fake users.

It’s also noteworthy that users won’t have to get inconvenienced by pesky ads when they use Match. So, for example, their video chat features won’t get interrupted by a pop-up ad.

But most of these features are only available after you pay for a subscription, and they can be more expensive than others. It has also led to the inactivity of free users since they can’t benefit from most of the features.

Nonetheless, the range of features, security, and filters has made them a reliable dating app for serious relationships.
