Pros

  • Fascial Stretch Therapy™ Available
  • Practical and sustainable advice
  • 6-week online nutrition challenge
  • Customized training programs

Cons

  • Operating hours unavailable

Dexterity Fitness, commonly known as DexFit, offers a comprehensive approach to personal training, focusing on customized programs that include strength training and Fascial Stretch Therapy™. Founded by Charlene, who turned her personal fitness struggles into a thriving career, DexFit aims to help clients achieve their health and fitness goals. With services available in-studio, in-home, and online, DexFit caters to various preferences and needs. The program also features a 6-week online nutrition challenge and wellness seminars designed to improve overall well-being.

One of the main advantages of DexFit is the personalized attention clients receive from Charlene and her team. Customized training programs are designed to address specific fitness goals, sport-specific needs, and injuries, ensuring that each client receives the appropriate guidance. The inclusion of Fascial Stretch Therapy™ sets DexFit apart, helping clients break through plateaus and remain injury-free. Testimonials highlight the effectiveness of these tailored programs, with clients like professional wakeskater Jesse noting significant improvements in performance.

Another notable strength of DexFit is the comprehensive nature of its offerings. The 6-week online nutrition challenge provides clients with practical advice and strategies tailored to their unique lifestyles, promoting sustainable, long-term results. Additionally, DexFit’s wellness seminars for employees and students enhance overall well-being, reduce absenteeism, and boost productivity. This holistic approach, which combines physical training, nutritional guidance, and wellness education, ensures clients receive well-rounded support on their fitness journeys.

However, there are some potential downsides to working with DexFit. The wide range of services offered, while beneficial for many, might overwhelm some clients who prefer a more focused approach. Additionally, the availability of in-home and online sessions may lead to inconsistent experiences compared to in-studio training. As Charlene’s clientele grows, maintaining the same level of personalized attention might become challenging, potentially impacting the quality of service.

In conclusion, Dexterity Fitness offers a robust and personalized approach to personal training, with Charlene’s expertise and dedication at its core. The combination of customized fitness programs, Fascial Stretch Therapy™, nutritional guidance, and wellness seminars makes DexFit a valuable resource for those looking to improve their health and fitness.

Pros

  • Available daily
  • In-home, studio, and virtual sessions
  • Accepts clients worldwide
  • Specializes in clients age 50+
  • Competitively priced

Cons

  • No afternoon studio sessions

Nielsen Fitness Toronto has been around since 2006, but what’s incredible is they were one of the first in Toronto to provide in-home training. That’s quite a feat in the industry.

Their personal trainers accept clients all over the GTA, any day of the week, which makes them accessible to everyone. But that’s not the main thing that made our day.

Nielsen Fitness offers in-home, studio, and virtual training. That’s one of the reasons why we love them because they’re accessible for everyone in the city—plus, there’s no need to worry about city traffic.

A standout factor is that they specialize in training clients aged 50 and up. They’re also experts in training clients with special needs.

Furthermore, their specialization is highly essential because it shows their knowledge and experience in improving mobility to help clients have a life free of pain. It’s a commendable aspect, don’t you think so?

Another convenient factor is their virtual training that’s available worldwide, which makes them available for clients on vacations or business trips. All you need is a laptop or tablet and an internet connection!

As for their studio training, they accept private, semi-private, and group sessions. However, it’s only available for small groups, and unfortunately, no afternoon sessions are available.

Nonetheless, we appreciate their competitive prices, starting at $70 for a 40-minute session. Plus, their pricing structure is detailed, which means no hidden charges.

Pros

  • Has 90-minute free assessments
  • No cookie-cutter plans
  • Holistic and data-driven approach

Cons

  • Closed on Sundays

What we like about Arzadon Fitness is their focus on various transformation programs. There’s a service for every type of body, making them accessible to every Torontonian.

They provide free 90-minute assessments, which is helpful as it lets clients know what to expect. It also gives clients the chance to understand what they need to do to reach their fitness goals.

The personal trainers are well-equipped to provide personalized training plans, which is one of our favourite factors. We like that they don’t stick to cookie-cutter plans, as each and every person is different.

Plus, their focus on holistic approaches is a valuable factor for us. Incredibly, they use both biosignature modulation assessments and blood testing to check for any health-related issues so that they can create a specialized supplement plan.

As for their services, we like the variety to cater to various clients. They offer male and female fat loss, muscle building, hybrid transformation coaching, and accountability coaching.

Aradon Fitness has a unique feature, which is that personal trainers get compensated based on the client’s results. In our opinion, it ensures clients that the fitness plans will specifically work for them since they’re driven by fitness data.

This process certainly works because, according to our surveys, most clients have shown excellent results with the data-driven approach. Many also loved the final results of their training programs.

However, Arzadon Fitness isn’t open on Sundays, limiting their availability for us. That was saddening since there are many clients who can only go to the gym on weekends.

Pros

  • Available in-home, virtual, and in-studio
  • Flexible schedules; open 24 hours
  • Has pay-as-you-go options
  • No pre-recorded sessions

Cons

  • Limited payment plans

What caught our attention about Your House Fitness is their expertise in providing workout plans. The owner and certified personal trainer, Sergio Pedemonte, even worked with celebrities, making him well-regarded in the field.

We appreciate their flexibility in scheduling personal training services in Toronto. They have long hours, starting at four in the morning and ending at midnight, available every day.

It’s also convenient they’re available for in-person and in-studio training sessions. There’s the option of not leaving the house to brave Toronto’s rush hour traffic.

Speaking of not leaving the house, we like that they accept virtual sessions as well. It allows clients with busy schedules to work out without needing to leave the house or worry about vacation plans.

Even clients complimented their personal trainers because of their accommodating nature. Even with really busy work schedules, their personal trainers managed to find the best solutions.

Another aspect we like is there are no pre-recorded sessions for virtual training. Each client gets a personalized plan to better reach their fitness goals.

But the most exciting part is the rates. There’s a pay-as-you-go option for $85 plus HST, eliminating the need for long-term contracts.

Additionally, we like the package plans, which are available for five or ten sessions. It certainly helps that they offer complimentary sessions so you can get a feel of the service before committing to it.

But here’s the kicker: package plans require upfront payment. Currently, only the 20-session packages have payment plans available.

Pros

  • Available 24/7
  • Strategic locations
  • Focuses on upskilling
  • Has a mobile app for scheduling

Cons

  • Fees on the expensive side

Conveniently located in downtown Toronto, Bang Personal Training is a personal trainer you can visit easily. They have a commuter-friendly location, which makes them accessible to many Torontonians.

Furthermore, their 24/7 availability is a major advantage for busy bees. That’s even more helpful for weekend training sessions since you can rest after a busy day at work.

Apart from personal training, we appreciate that they offer online training. It saves clients from going through the busy streets of downtown Toronto.

There’s even a handy mobile app we like, which makes scheduling sessions quick and easy. The app is also straightforward, and even cancellation of a session is available.

A pretty nice aspect is you can choose between one-on-one and group sessions. The group sessions only have five people, but it still keeps the training program intimate and personal.

At Bang Personal Training, we appreciate that you get experienced trainers with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology or an equivalent, and are committed to staying up-to-date with the latest developments in the fitness industry.

However, some clients found their rates a tad expensive. Still, they appreciated the value for money because of the unique training plans, the full support given by the trainers, and the ambiance of the gym.

Pros

  • Convenient location
  • Provides meal plans
  • Has certified nutritionists
  • Fairly priced services

Cons

  • Closed on Sundays

Situated in North York, HouseFit Personal Training is easy to get to because it’s only a few minutes of walking away from a subway station. It’s accessible for those who prefer to drive, too, since there’s free parking nearby.

A slight issue we found, however, is that their schedule is only six days a week. Sadly, for clients with busy work schedules, HouseFit’s Sundays are closed for training.

But the thing we like is the personalized training plans each client gets. Their service doesn’t end at the gym; they also offer guidance regarding the food you eat at home.

In fact, their personal trainers will also provide simple and easy-to-follow meal plans tailored to specific fitness goals and dietary restrictions. We like that it removes the guesswork in meal prep, which can also be pretty time-consuming to prepare.

It’s nice to know the team has years of experience in the fitness industry. You also get certified fitness trainers, and there are certified nutritionists to make sure you get the best service.

HouseFit Personal Training offers one-on-one, partner, and group training sessions, which we appreciate because it gives you options. That’s not the last thing we like, though.

We also found their rates fairly priced. One-on-one personal training is anywhere between $89 to $100 plus tax, which we found is within the reasonable range in Toronto.
