Imagine, Design, and Build: 11 Collector-Approved Lego Stores in Canada
Everything is awesome when I’m building my Lego sets. These overpriced bricks managed to catch my attention back when I was young; even now that I’m an adult, the love for building is still there.
As a collector, I have my favourite Lego stores where I buy new releases and rare sets that occasionally offer discounts. So this time, I’m sharing my favourite places where I buy Legos because why not?
Maybe you’ll be lucky and find an unused and complete set of Star Wars Gungan Sub for a price I can afford! So, check our favourite Lego stores in Canada for new products, vintage sets, bulk buys, and loose minifigures!

You can purchase any kind of Lego set at official Lego stores in Canada. There are a total of 12 locations across the country, which you can find in Toronto, Ottawa, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Surrey, Richmond, Laval, and Pointe-Claire.
The pro of visiting the official Lego store is you’ll find exclusive sets, like newly launched boxes and seasonal releases. There are loads of sets here, even the massive (and expensive) ones, like the Tudor Corner and The Botanical Garden.
Plus, official Lego stores offer gifts with purchase, which are not available for sale. You’ll also find merchandise here, such as bags, storage, cups, keychains, and display cases.
A cool experience you won’t see anywhere else is the Pick a Brick wall, where you can find pieces you won’t find in a regular set. You basically fill a cup with Legos, which can be as random and as many as you want!
Pro Tip:
Join Lego Insiders to collect points, receive member-only rewards, and have early access to selected releases! This membership basically allows you to jump the queue for those special sets!
LEGO Official Online Store

Contact: Lego customer service
Operating Hours: 24/7
Another official store you can buy authentic Lego sets from is the online store. The website is one of the best ways to get your Legos without driving far since they’ll be delivered straight to your doorstep—handy if you live in a city without an official store.
This is also very convenient for collectors and builders who want to save some money (since Lego can be pricey). There are lots of sales online, including exclusive sets and some that aren’t in stock at stores can be found here.
There’s free shipping for orders of $35 or more. Plus, in-stock items ordered by 12 pm ET on weekdays are delivered the next day—that’s fast and very handy for last-minute gifts!
Pro Tip:
If you’re looking for holiday sets, check the website because they go on sale (sometimes even before the holiday ends). Avoid last-minute online shopping during busy seasons (like Christmas) because there’s a chance for delayed shipments.
BrickLink

Operating Hours: 24/7
If there’s a very rare Lego you want, you’ll most likely find it on BrickLink, which was acquired by Lego in 2019. It’s an online marketplace (and is actually the largest) where you can buy and sell your collection.
You’ll find new and used Legos here, including retired and very hard-to-find sets. If you need that very specific part, you can look for that here as well.
One of the things you definitely have to check out is the MOC (My Own Creation) section, which is where sets designed and built by fans and collectors are found. You can find some really cool designs not sold by Lego.
The BrickLink Designer Program (BDP) is also worth looking at, where fans design their own sets. Approved submissions will then move to crowdfunding, where you can pre-order.
Then, those that reach a 3,000 minimum of pre-orders will proceed to production. This has a limited run, though, so make sure your bank account is ready!
Pro Tip:
Check the seller reviews before buying. If there’s too much negative feedback, you might want to skip that one.

There’s a cool family-owned Lego store in Grimsby just 40 minutes away from Niagara Falls. This humble store is a paradise for collectors because you can purchase new and used sets!
Prepare your wallets because you’ll find some really, really hard-to-find Lego sets here, like the Millenium Falcon (from Star Wars, in case you don’t know, but I’m pretty sure everyone does!) and the Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters!
The cool part is you can buy custom-built sets, which are assembled by the owner. They’ve done a cool Tim Horton’s coffee shop and a Blockbuster Video store!
If you need extra parts for your own Lego builds, you can head to the brick bins to find unique pieces. There are also lots of minifigures if you need extra people in your sets.
Pro Tip:
If you see something you like posted on Instagram, contact them immediately! Rare sets mostly get sold immediately!

Operating Hours: Store-dependent schedule
You can probably see a Toys“R”Us near you since this store has lots of branches all over the country. This major Canadian retailer is basically one of the easiest places to purchase Legos.
You can get special deals during the holiday season. If you find a set you want on their website, you can save money on shipping by picking it up at the store, but not all online items are available.
Pro Tip:
We recommend buying when you have discount coupons since they can sometimes be pricier than the official Lego store.

Albertans are lucky because they have Edmonton Brickyard, a cool yet humble shop that sells new, used, and retired Lego sets. And if you don’t really want to drive all the way to Canada’s festival city, you can have your Legos delivered to your doorstep!
Once you enter, you’ll be shocked at the selection—there are Legos that you thought you wouldn’t ever find again! Some retired sets they’ve sold are the Police Station, BrickLink Modular LEGO Store, and Star Wars Assault on Hoth.
You can also get some cool custom builds that are 100% made from Lego pieces. They’ve sold custom kits by Sam Malmberg, who was a contestant on Lego Masters Season 4.
And if you’re looking for specific bricks and minifigures, there’s a high chance you’ll find them here. You can purchase Lego pieces in bulk, and you’ll see opened and unopened minifigs.
Pro Tip:
If you can’t make the drive, check out their BrickLink online shop for Lego bricks and minifigs.

- Sunday: 10 am – 5 pm
Hobbyists and toy collectors will have a blast at BC Hobbies, which has continued to serve the coolest toys and collectibles in Victoria since 1952. It’s the place for people who love building and customising things because they sell tools for your figures.
This spot gives you a chance to find custom minifigures, classics, and rare sets, like those from Lego Architecture, City, and Creator. Since they’re now an official LEGO dealer, you’ll see more new releases at MSRP (Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price).
If you’re looking for a specific polybag you didn’t get the chance to snag before, you might find them here (they have some VIP Add-on packs). They also have pre-owned products, which are usually unbuilt, but some are opened and built.
For non-BC residents, you can purchase items on their website and have them delivered to your home. The shipping fee is $20, but orders over $150 before taxes are free!
Pro Tip:
If you have extra Lego sets or some you want to let go, you can sell them at BC Hobbies to make extra money (you know, for more Legos!).

One of the fastest ways, if not the fastest, to get your Legos delivered to your home is by ordering at Amazon Canada. This massive company has it all, including new releases, classics, exclusives, and rare sets.
It’s no secret that the Amazon warehouse has a huge selection of Legos. Pretty much any theme is available here, and you don’t have to drive far just to get them.
Same-day shipping is available, which is really handy for last-minute purchases, although this only applies to eligible postal codes. If you’re a Prime member, your items will be shipped for free if they’re over $25 (for Lego, that’s not a hard amount to reach!).
Pro Tip:
Look for the “Sold by Amazon.ca” label when browsing for Lego sets to ensure you’re buying authentic items. It also means you’re not purchasing from a third-party seller.

Local Toy Stores near You

This is an extra addition to our list, but if you want to support your local community and small businesses, go to your local toy shop. Hobby and collectible stores usually have some cool choices.
These places usually have used, unique, and retired Lego sets, which you won’t find in major retailers. Some small shops also sell loose bricks and minifigures, which you can buy in bulk.
Pro Tip:
Some small toy stores will have bins full of random toys. It’s worth browsing through these because you might find hidden gems!
