They focus on developing websites for small businesses, and we appreciate that aside from building ones from scratch, they also rebuild old ones for a fresh new look! However, they don’t cater to large companies.

They prioritize affordability by offering free landing pages and hosting transfers. After that, their hosting fee is a reasonable rate of $65 per year.

Moreover, websites that require multiple pages usually start at $800—that’s less than a thousand dollars! So, we found this reasonably priced, especially for new and small businesses.

In addition, they make easy-to-use websites via WordPress. As a result, clients can update the websites on their own to save on budget, but they still offer year-round support.

Furthermore, we appreciate that they offer a variety of design examples to choose from. 

Unfortunately, they don’t make custom design requests. We think this is understandable, though, given their affordable fees.

Besides those, we like their graphic design services, which are ideal for new businesses to increase their consumer visibility. They also offer logo design, which clients can include along with the website design.

A minor issue we found is their office is only available three times a week for in-person consultations. Nonetheless, they are available 24/7 for online consultations.

Clover & Crow is a female-led design studio specializing in web design and branding for businesses. Their team is composed of skilled designers, photographers, copywriters, and stylists.

Their client base extends beyond Winnipeg, as they have collaborated with international companies such as Twelve Chairs Interiors, Grace & Ardor Co, and Vessel Kitchen.

They primarily provide per-package pricing, which is ideal for new businesses aiming to establish an online presence due to the complete inclusions. Even better, they offer tailored services suited to the client’s needs—we like flexible services here!

We also like their two options for hosting websites: Shopify and Squarespace. Why? Shopify is great for e-commerce websites, while Squarespace is better suited for portfolio websites.

Moreover, their web design package includes mobile and tablet planning. It’s an important feature since websites will function smoothly on any device and screen size!

Another service that stands out is their e-commerce integration service, so you can include an online shop on your portfolio website. They also provide product page customization to display important information about each product—convenient for customers!

A downside we discovered is that they only accept inquiries through their website’s contact form, which can result in a slightly delayed response. They also don’t offer template websites, which is an affordable option for small businesses.

Established in 2001, NSD Tech stands as a one-stop shop for businesses in Winnipeg, offering web design, domain and hosting services, app development, and branding.

We like their client reach, working with various industries, from restaurants to medical centres. Clients include Marion Medical Centre, Book Fair Winnipeg, Madina Shawarma Restaurant, and Bliss Dental.

Furthermore, they cater to small and medium-sized businesses. But that also means they are not for large companies and don’t specialize in e-commerce sites.

We were also happy that they offer website maintenance support, which is helpful in case of bug fixes or crashes. Their client assistance even earned praise from several people we surveyed.

FireNet is a company that assists Canadian businesses in their growth—commendable, eh? They focus on e-commerce websites and are available six days a week!

Their client list includes Sugar Blossom, Urban Beard, Floral Fixx, Yorkville Village, and Sherman Brown. It’s nice to know that they cater to different industries!

They specialize in Shopify, but we think it’s great they use other platforms, too, like WordPress, React, and Webflow. Plus, they develop custom web designs that will show your brand’s identity and make it memorable for consumers.

Considering they’ve been around for almost a decade, we were impressed with their knowledge of the Canadian market. They are also Shopify experts and are well-versed in the platform’s launch process—nice!

Apart from building new websites, we also like how they can rebuild old ones. This is particularly helpful for businesses looking to relaunch or improve their online presence, no?

Furthermore, we like their app integration service. They can integrate the Shopify website with other applications during the design process, which we think is ideal in this we-are-always-on-our-phones-age.

We also appreciate the post-launch support, especially in an online business. They even have marketing services to ensure your store is up-to-date and improve sales performance!

Since FireNet focuses on e-commerce, it means they don’t specialize in portfolio websites. We also noticed they have a smaller selection of services than other web design companies in Winnipeg.
