The 5 Best Recruitment Agencies in Vancouver for a Successful Work Match!

  • Expertise - We chose recruitment agencies that understand the market to ensure they know how to properly place job seekers with the right employers.
  • Specialisation and Additional Services - To cater to more people, we looked for agencies that offer placements in various industries. We also checked how vast their offerings are to accommodate the needs of employers.
  • Communication Skills -  For this, we selected recruiters who are quick to respond and connect with their clients to ensure they have your back.
  • Recruitment Process - How extensive is their process in matching the right candidate with the right employer? To do this, we studied each agency’s methods to see how effective they are.

In this economy, the employment market is very intense. It’s no secret that landing a job (that actually pays decent money) is challenging, no matter what industry you’re in.

When direct hiring isn’t cutting it, getting assistance from a recruitment agency may just be the thing for job seekers and employers. It results in a faster hiring process with a wider pool of candidates and job positions—it’s a win-win!

Impact Recruitment accommodates many job seekers and employers in Vancouver, which is one of the main reasons we chose them.

For example, they cater to a wide range of industries, like corporate, technology, manufacturing, not-for-profit, and real estate sectors. This means they can assist pretty much all kinds of job seekers!

Plus, it’s awesome that they offer permanent and contract-based placements, making them accessible to full-time employees and freelancers. However, they don’t specialise in short-term placements.

On the upside, we appreciate their Certified Candidate System, which is a comprehensive matching system. It results in a seamless and more accurate process for successful placements.

We didn’t have issues when communicating with them, although there were a couple of complaints during our surveys about slow responses. These aren’t everyday problems, though.

It’s also incredible how straightforward they were during the process, and they clearly informed job hunters that the employers will pay!

Pros

  • Accurate and seamless matching system
  • Permanent and contract-based placements
  • Clear interview process
  • Caters to freelancers

Cons

  • Doesn’t focus on short-term placements
  • A few issues with slow responses

Checked in via email and text

“Angela was great from our first communication until getting me a contract position. She did checks in with me via email and text message, which felt more personal Definitely a professional I would love to work with again She is great!””

Doesn’t give up until you secure a job

“I had a great experience with Impact Recruitment. Highly recommend them! They are relentless in their efforts and do not give up until you’ve secured a job you like. The staff are super friendly and the advice and support I received from them was very useful. They also follow up with you even after you start working and until your probation period. I tried various recruitment companies, but this is the second time I successfully secured a job through Impact.”

One of the reasons we like Aughdem Recruitment is that they make hiring a seamless process. Their bespoke recruitment services offer more than just finding the right employee.

For example, they provide fractional HR services, giving you access to an HR manager without needing to pay the full-time salary. For the employer and the candidate, this added service makes things go smoothly because it simplifies the process!

Their selection process is also comprehensive, including custom-crafted job descriptions and assessments of the candidate’s work style. All these ensure you’ll find the right employee based on your work culture—awesome!

Plus, they specialise in executive placements in various industries, giving them a broad search network. The downside? They focus on executive job placements only, which limits their services.

Nonetheless, their recruiters remain professional throughout by doing their research and responding promptly. From what we’ve seen, their approach definitely added to the smooth recruitment process!

    Pros

    • Provides bespoke services
    • Comprehensive approach
    • Offers fractional HR services
    • Smooth process

    Cons

    • Executive job placements only

Treated the candidate pool like their own

“Worked with Aughdem for several needed candidates over the course of 2023+2024. Can’t recommend their professionalism and proactive communication enough.

Special shout out to Maz who took the extra effort to treat my team and candidate pool as his own.”

It’s impressive that Goldbeck Recruiting started in 1997, giving them lots of knowledge about the local market—but that’s not all we like.

One of our favourite things about them is that they provide permanent job placements in various industries, such as construction, accounting, human resources, and not-for-profit. On top of that, they recruit job hunters from all over the globe!

Unfortunately, they don’t specialise in temporary positions. It’s not like they won’t, but they do this very rarely. Nonetheless, they still assist in contract hiring.

It’s also incredible that they focus on contingency recruitment, which means no payment until the employer hires a candidate. The massive plus is the long 6-month guarantee, where they recruit someone else immediately if the employee is let go.

Plus, we love all the perks for their clients. Aside from free job postings, they also provide HR support, office space for interviews, salary assessments, and reference checks.

      Pros

      • Recruits from other countries
      • Focuses on contingency recruitment
      • Offers a 6-month guarantee
      • Provides various perks for employers

      Cons

      • Rarely hires temporary positions

        Exceptional support and guidance

“I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for the exceptional support and guidance provided by Reiniell Gan during my job search. In this inflationary period, navigating the job market can be quite challenging, but his professionalism and dedication made a significant difference. He helped me prepare for interviews and scheduled interviews with the hiring company in a very professional manner. Thank you for your support Reiniell!!”

        Listened to our needs

“Working with Goldbeck Recruiting was a great experience. We had the pleasure of working with Vanessa Cox. She did an awesome job listening to our needs and finding us qualified candidates for an out of province position. Vanessa saved us time by screening candidates for us. She also helped set up interviews between the candidates and our team. The candidates she brought to us were better than we had imagined. We have hired one of the candidates. We would be happy to use Goldbeck Recruiting again in the future and are thankful for the new hire they brought to us.”

Vanjobs is a small recruitment agency, but that doesn’t limit their capabilities. By not being a large agency, they can offer a more personalised approach and focus more on quantity over quality—awesome overall!

Their customised approach is handy for employers and job seekers. From what we’ve observed, their recruiters are skilled in finding the right matches, and they do this by bringing out the candidate’s strengths and checking in after the placement.

We must mention, though, that Vanjobs focuses on IT hiring, so they’re not as accessible as we’d like. On the positive side, we still appreciate that they cover various positions and industries.

It’s also cool that they keep updated with the latest trends by using an AI-powered system to spot candidates who match the employer’s requirements. While this may be good, it’s not 100% reliable due to potential technical issues.

They offer a money-back guarantee, though! They’ll find a new recruit for free if the original candidate isn’t the right fit!

        Pros

        • Personalised service
        • Quantity over quality approach
        • Uses an AI-powered matching system
        • Offers a money-back guarantee

        Cons

        • Only does IT hiring
        • AI system may not be 100% reliable

          Helped through the whole process

“I knew that transition from academia to the industry is challenging, but Mark gave me the confidence to make it a smooth transition. He helped me through the entire hiring process, from helping me to prepare my resume to setting up my video interface and giving me invaluable advice throughout the whole process. I am very grateful for his guidance helping me land my dream job. Thank you Mark!”

          Kept me in the loop

“My experience with Mark was amazing. He’s really top notch. I really appreciated how he kept me in the loop through the whole process. Instead of waiting two weeks for an answer, I got constant updates. Beyond this, he’s very friendly and personable. I can’t recommend him enough.”

When it comes to expertise, Robert Half made a strong impression. They’re a recruitment and employment agency with over 70 years of experience and have received many accolades.

Robert Half specializes in various industries, such as finance, technology, and marketing. But the best thing is they offer permanent, temporary, and contract placements, available for on-site, remote, and hybrid arrangements—talk about flexible!

Even though they’re more focused on executive and C-level hiring, they still accommodate entry-level positions. They’re like a one-stop destination for job seekers and employers!

On the downside, we noted reports of slow or no responses from previous job hunters. It’s also disappointing that the experiences vary based on the recruiter, which may be a hit or miss.

On another note, one of the things that mainly caught our attention is that they use both AI technology and a human-centred approach to find the right candidates. We love that it makes the job easier without compromising the personal approach.

          Pros

          • Over 70 years in the industry
          • Offers permanent and temporary placements
          • Accommodates various work arrangements
          • Open for entry-level and C-level positions
          • Combines a human and AI hiring approach

          Cons

          • Some reports of no/slow responses
          • Recruiter may be a hit or miss

Went above and beyond to help me

“I had an amazing experience with the team, especially Lucy! She went above and beyond to help me find a great job that truly fits my skills and career goals. Lucy was incredibly supportive, professional, and always available to answer my questions. Thanks to her dedication and effort, I’m now starting an exciting new chapter in my career. Highly recommend their services—thank you, Lucy!”

Excellent at matching consultants with the right opportunities

“Working with Robert Half as a consultant has been a great experience. Their team is professional, supportive, and excellent at matching consultants with the right opportunities. The onboarding was smooth, and they provided consistent communication and follow-up. I highly recommend them to professionals seeking consulting roles and businesses looking for top talent.”
