It allows the clients to have freedom with the funeral, whether they want a simple or elaborate one. We also think it’s convenient that Hainstock’s even has a download guide on the website to give you an idea of funeral pricing!

However, we noticed that they only included some mausoleum prices for their US branches. We hope they can add the Canadian rates since they also offer these in Canada.

On the bright side, it’s worth noting that their facilities are well-maintained. Even past clients have complimented the cleanliness.

Additionally, Hainstock’s Funeral Home & Crematorium has a very responsive staff. Upon completing their online contact form, you can expect a response in just 15 minutes—pretty fast, right?

For us, this is also convenient because you can contact them during immediate funerals. But they also have pre-planned services, which any client can get to ensure their family and friends won’t go through the stress of making funeral arrangements.

It was just disappointing that a few clients were not satisfied with their encounter with the staff, like not getting a response after inquiring. On the bright side, they made sure to address the situations to avoid them from happening again.

What’s so good about Connelly-McKinley Funeral Homes? It has three locations: Downtown Edmonton, South Edmonton, and St. Albert.

In our books, it’s pretty convenient because you can count on them regardless of where you are. Aside from that, they also provide immediate assistance for unexpected situations.

Let’s not forget the onsite flower shop, which is another convenient aspect. Despite it being a funeral home, we appreciate that guests can ask for floral arrangements that are for any occasion.

Our team was surprised and impressed at their aftercare service, which shows their compassion for the families that go to their funeral home. This one doesn’t have an additional cost and can lessen the stress of handling funeral arrangements.

Moreover, we think it’s notable that their family service consultant is professionally trained. They will provide complete assistance, from who to call to dealing with banks.

During our research, we found that they offer burial vaults. Basically, these are stronger than regular grave boxes due to the better protection while six feet under.

This product stood out to us because clients can even personalize it by adding photos. Further, there are various options so you can find the one that will best fit your budget.

It’s also worth noting that they also do green burials. Every single aspect here is eco-friendly, which helps reduce carbon footprint.

So, it was disappointing when we heard some customer service complaints. This includes incorrect spelling of names and forgetting to honour some of the requests made by the families they worked with.

These may seem minor, but funerals need to have great attention to detail to give families and friends proper last goodbyes. That’s why we feel their assistance needs to improve.

Since 1963, Evergreen Funeral Home & Cemetery has been serving Edmonton with customized funeral arrangements. It even has a clean and well-maintained funeral home that can seat up to 500 persons.

Moreover, the positive aspect of this is you can have an elaborate and big funeral for the deceased. We definitely like that this setup allows the visiting friends and family to come together at once to show support.

One of the convenient services is the pre-planning arrangement. We appreciate that you can hire an on-site pre-planning specialist to assist you.

Furthermore, we were quite surprised that they even have an online location finder if you prefer to hire one near your location. For us, this shows their compassion for the families they serve because they won’t pressure you into hiring their own specialists.

Additionally, Evergreen Funeral Home & Cemetery has a service called “A Time to Remember”. It’s a unique and customizable send-off where you can give visitors a souvenir as a way to pay tribute to the deceased.

On the downside we’re a bit iffy about their customer service. Some of the people we spoke with complained about the impersonal sales talk given to grieving families. 

For a funeral service, we hope they could have shown more professionalism and sympathy to the grieving families.

Finally, we must mention that Evergreen Funeral Home & Cemetery has more expensive pricing compared to other funeral homes in Edmonton.

Next on our list is Pointe West Cremation & Funeral Service. It’s still new to the industry as it opened its doors only in 2020, during a difficult time for the world. 

Despite that, its employees have years of experience in the industry. Some have even worked in the funeral business for more than 30 years.

One of the things that we like is its green burial service. This sustainable option benefits the environment because it reduces carbon footprint.

Furthermore, all the materials for a green burial are made of biodegradable and non-toxic materials. Honestly, this is an option some members of our team are looking into.

It was also incredible to learn that they allow customers to use their preferred floral service. Not all funeral homes in Edmonton allow this, especially since Pointe West has an in-house flower service.

Conveniently, you can even make the funeral arrangement online. It’s quick and easy, which lessens the stress of the situation.

For those who prefer a quick and affordable basic cremation, we think Pointe West is a good option. It’s also worth mentioning that their rates for funeral services are reasonable. 

Moreover, the rates of their services are available on their website. Our team liked this because it allows people to choose affordable ones.

However, Pointe West is a young company, so we think it’s understandable that it has notable limitations. For one, it has limited services compared to other funeral homes in the city. 

Also, it was a bit shocking that they aren’t open for unexpected funeral arrangements. Unlike other funeral homes in the city, they aren’t open 24/7—hopefully, they can expand their services more in the future.
