Pros
- Has a modern East Asian interior
- The meals draw inspiration from Asian flavours
- Has a different brunch menu every day
- The staff are friendly
- Open on weekends
Cons
- Has a long waiting line
One of the reasons we included Planta Queen on our list of Toronto’s top vegan restaurants is because their ambiance provides a suitable setting whether you’re opting for a laid-back meal or planning a special date night.
During our visit, it was the first thing that caught our attention. We like the modern interpretation of the East Asian interior featuring soft lighting and carefully chosen decor that imparts a cozy and romantic feel.
We also like how Planta Queen presents an impressive menu inspired by East Asian and Southeast Asian cuisines. For us, noteworthy dishes like kung pao eggplant, udon with truffle, and pad thai slaw exemplify their culinary prowess.
For those feeling adventurous, we highly recommend exploring their weekly brunch lineup. Mondays offer unlimited maki rolls, while Fridays showcase enticing dumpling platters—an opportunity not to be missed!
As an added bonus, Planta Queen’s menu is priced between $8 and $25. It presents a budget-friendly option for those delving into plant-based cuisine without breaking the bank, don’t you think?
That said, we appreciate the variety of their menu because it ensures there’s something for everyone, whether you’re a seasoned vegan or just taking a dip. We think their diverse meal lineup deserves a spot on your must-try list.
While feedback from surveyed customers applauds the friendliness of the restaurant staff, we think it’s worth noting that some have expressed concerns about longer-than-expected waiting times, particularly during peak hours.
Despite this, we appreciate that Planta Queen extends their welcome on weekends, offering flexibility to customers.
Lastly, we like how the restaurant’s ample parking space and proximity to bus stops add another layer of convenience, ensuring easy accessibility for all patrons.

Pros
- Has a casual and laid-back ambiance
- Has vegan Mexican meals
- Has friendly and helpful staff
Cons
- Meals are a bit expensive
- Closed on Sundays and Mondays
- The area usually has heavy traffic
Rosalinda Restaurant is one of the bistros that has secured a spot on our list of must-visit places for vegan aficionados in Toronto. One of which is the relaxing space.
We like that patrons are welcomed with a very casual, laid-back, and chill atmosphere. We appreciate the relaxed ambiance, perfect for those seeking a comfortable setting to savour their vegan delights—an ideal spot to unwind with friends or enjoy a solo meal!
The majority of their meals are Mexican-inspired vegan cuisine. From the charcoaled beetroot salad with poblano (chilli peppers) salsa to the pay de queso vasco (burnt cheesecake) desserts, each dish pays homage to Latino cuisine.
They also skillfully incorporate flavours from other regions into their food. For us, the real star is the Macha Tofu Bowl—an enticing fusion of Asian and Mexican flavours featuring edamame and tortilla chips, all while being gluten-free.
Blending diverse cultural flavours and presenting them in vegan dishes is already impressive. That’s why we want to give Rosalinda Restaurant a thumbs-up for offering green options with an interesting twist!
However, it’s worth noting that their meal prices range from $16 to $25, slightly higher than those of other restaurants.
On the flip side, Rosalinda has accommodating staff who resonate positively with many patrons we surveyed. We commend them for their welcoming service, which we believe enhances the overall positive experience for customers.
But, a little consideration for potential patrons is the restaurant’s closure on Sundays and Mondays, which we think might be a slight letdown as most people have free time on weekends.
Also, reaching the venue via private vehicle might pose a challenge due to moderately heavy traffic in the area. Nonetheless, we appreciate that they’re near bus stops and have ample parking space, making things convenient for customers.

Pros
- Offers Caribbean vegan meals
- Has various types of food on the menu
- Accessible via bus
- Has a catering menu
Cons
- Has no parking area
- Closed from Mondays to Thursdays
- The meal price is a bit expensive
Veggie D’Light stands out for us as one of the city’s top vegan restaurants, offering an infusion of Caribbean flavours into your diet. For those in search of a green haven with bold, diverse, and vibrant cuisines, we think they’re one of the top choices!
We like how Veggie D’Light creates a cozy atmosphere by welcoming you into a casual and informal small bistro. While we appreciate the ambiance, we’ve observed that opting for take-out works best, considering their space is quite small.
Meanwhile, their in-house menu features tempting options like pizza cake, roti, and Caribbean soups. Notably, their signature meal combines rice, quinoa, salad, and various protein options—and the different mixtures make them impressive for us.
We fell in love with their menu for its variety, allowing customers to embark on a filling and adventurous dining experience.
Also, we like their catering menu, which introduces unique dishes like the Zion Train salad—a medley of grilled zucchini with other recipes in a signature coconut dressing. Their delectable dishes are ideal for parties and events, no?
But with prices ranging from $13 to $17, Veggie D’Light leans toward the slightly expensive side. However, since they’re a local and small business, we believe the unique flavours they bring to the table make them worth a try.
While it’s a plus that Veggie D’Light is accessible via public transportation, the absence of an actual parking area might pose a challenge. Nevertheless, they offer curb-side pick-up, making it convenient for those opting to drive.
Finally, it’s also worth noting that they’re only open from Fridays to Sundays, which is a letdown as they are unavailable most days.

Pros
- Has been operating for 30 years
- Offers Chinese vegan meals
- Has a streamlined menu
- Has an accommodating staff
- Has budget-friendly meals
Cons
- Has a small space
Buddha’s Vegan Restaurant proudly boasts three decades of culinary expertise. In our view, this is more than a credential; it’s a testament to their commitment to providing top-level vegan dining.
At Buddha’s, we like how the culinary journey takes you through Chinese gastronomy, offering a delightful fusion of tofu, rice, and noodles in myriad vegan forms. Yum!
They offer appetizers, soups, and main vegetable dishes, and each meal type has one or two variations. We like their menu because of the many variations.
For us, their deep-fried taro roll, lotus root soup, and the intriguing imitation duck noodles crafted from soy are among the culinary highlights that piqued our interest.
When it comes to prices, Buddha’s meals range from $3 to $16, offering a budget-friendly option without compromising on flavour. We think there’s no doubt that this restaurant is a haven for budget-conscious diners.
Meanwhile, many of the Buddha’s customers we surveyed appreciated the friendly and accommodating nature of the owner and staff. We value this personal touch to the dining experience as it creates an inviting atmosphere for regulars and newcomers.
Operating from Mondays to Saturdays, Buddha’s offers accessibility within the week. However, we think the restaurant’s limited space might be challenging during peak hours because they only have five tables.

Pros
- The menu has proper ingredient labelling
- Open on weekends
- Accessible via public transportation
- Meal price is budget-friendly
- Available for catering
Cons
- Serving portions are small
- Only has curbside parking
- Can work on reservation schedules
- The resto has a small space
We love that Hello 123 welcomes you with their cozy and casual brick interior, creating a warm atmosphere. However, there’s a slight catch – the small space can get crowded during peak hours, and the build-up of kitchen smoke is something to be mindful of.
Despite the limitations, Hello 123 caters to various dining preferences. Whether you’re opting for a dine-in experience, delivery, or planning private and catering events, we’re glad they offer flexibility and diverse options.
We believe diversity takes center stage at Hello 123 because they feature a menu that spans various cuisines, from dishes with tahini (Mexican seasoning) to kimchi (fermented vegetables). We think the abundance of options is a relief.
Hello 123’s transparency also sets them apart—their menu has ingredient lists, helping you know which have tree nuts, gluten, or soy. For us, this considerate touch helps customers make informed choices based on their dietary preferences or restrictions.
With meal prices ranging from $8 to $20, we believe Hello 123 provides affordable options. However, we think it’s worth noting that some customers mentioned that the serving portions might be slightly small, even for the pricier items.
Based on our customer surveys, Hello 123 faces a recurring challenge with reservation problems during busy hours, which can disrupt a seamless dining experience.
On the other hand, we like that they’re open on weekends, offering a tempting haven for weekend warriors. But a one-hour break from 4 PM to 5 PM might pose a hurdle for eager patrons.
While their roadside parking is convenient, we found the limited availability a drawback. On the flip side, we think their proximity to transit stops adds a travel-friendly aspect, making Hello 123 accessible for those relying on public transportation.
