One of the things we liked about Action Muffler Radiator & Brakes is the vast experience in the industry. It has been around since the 1980s, which helped with the shop’s background in radiator repairs.

We were also glad the radiator repair shop has three locations in Edmonton: North, South, and West. It’s quite convenient because they can reach more clients in the city.

Additionally, they’re open on Saturdays—unfortunately, the West location remains closed. We also found it a bit limiting that they’re open only until after lunchtime.

Their vast clientele is pretty impressive. Aside from cars, they work on trucks as well. We find this beneficial because truck companies can go to them for repairs, even if the trucks weigh up to 3 tonnes!

Moreover, they accept same-day service for commercial fleets. It’s a huge advantage because it reduces business downtime. After all, the technicians can do the repairs on the same day.

But individuals can also go to the Action shop if they need immediate repairs. Some car repair shops in Edmonton require an appointment, so this was pretty useful.

However, we heard differing opinions about the rates. Some found them reasonable, while others thought they were quite expensive.

Sadly, we believe they need to improve on customer service. There were a few issues with past clients because of the lack of updates and poor communication.

We were glad that Hunter Radiators has been in the industry for over 20 years. In our opinion, it takes skills and knowledge to last this long in the car repair business. 

Another aspect we liked is the wide variety of services. The technicians are well-equipped to handle cleaning and repair for radiators, fuel tanks, oil coolers, and other parts.

Moreover, they cater to different types of vehicles, from classic cars to bulldozers. We were pretty happy about this because it shows the technicians’ skills and knowledge of many vehicle types.

They also don’t require an appointment, which is convenient for vehicles that need emergency repairs. We also liked how the team tried to fix the car problems on the same day unless replacement parts were unavailable.

Furthermore, they have a 90-day parts warranty for the client’s peace of mind. But this time frame doesn’t apply to all parts, sadly.

We also appreciated the technicians’ work quality. They maintained good communication and updated their clients from consultation to the final results.

In addition, we were happy about the reasonable rates. Some clients found their prices accurate from the estimates as well, possibly due to the thorough examination the technicians did.

Unfortunately, Hunter Radiators is unavailable on weekends. We found this a drawback because it limits clients who need radiator repairs on their time off.

The main factor that impressed us about Best Choice Automotive is it’s approved by the Alberta Motor Association (AMA) for auto repair services. An AMA approval means the shop has undergone a thorough vetting process.

Since opening in 1994, the shop has expanded with more service bays, employees, and services. The diverse services are important because it allows the client to go to them for other car issues.

Apart from radiator repairs, they also do brakes, steering, alignments, engines, and many others. We were also glad when we found out they do maintenance, which is a useful and valuable service.

The technicians are also equipped to handle different makes and models. In our opinion, this speaks about their expertise in cars regardless of where it’s made.

A unique service they have is they offer night drop-offs. It’s pretty rare to find this in car repair services in Edmonton.

Furthermore, we found this useful for unexpected car problems because the client can simply leave the vehicle in front of their shop and drop the keys near the front door. This has been a convenient service for clients with busy schedules.

Another explanation why we liked the night drop-off is because the shop is unavailable on weekends. They also close an hour earlier on Saturdays, unfortunately.

On the bright side, the clients we conversed with appreciated the polite and professional approach of the technicians. They went straight to work and gave good explanations about the needed repairs.

One of the things that made an impression on us is Alta custom Exhaust’s wide range of services. They handle quick maintenance, like oil changes to performance upgrades.

We were also impressed that they work on cars and trucks, even motorhomes and forklifts! This allows them to cater to a diverse clientele, which our team found pretty convenient.

Other than that, their facility has nine bays so that they can work on many vehicles. Two of those are made for larger vehicles, too.

They also have quite a large facility, especially compared to other Edmonton-based radiator repair shops. It has an extensive outdoor area, making it easy to park vehicles.

Plus, the technicians can do same-day service for quick repairs. But for more comprehensive repairs, clients need to book an appointment ahead of time.

Another thing that made an impact on us is the thorough diagnosis. It was impressive that the technicians listened to their client’s concerns, especially new drivers.

Some clients even mentioned that the technicians brought their vehicles inside the facility for further diagnosis when they couldn’t immediately see the issues. For us, this speaks about their professionalism.

On the downside, Alta Custom Exhaust have slightly higher rates than other radiator repair services. Some also mentioned that their replacement parts were more expensive.

It’s also good to know that while they’re open on Saturdays, they close about four hours earlier than their regular closing time. So, we suggest booking an appointment to ensure your radiator will get checked out.

Our team was stoked when we found Park Muffler Radiator Brakes & Tires because it’s been open since 1979. It also started with a specialization in radiators and mufflers, earning them years of experience in radiator repairs.

Since then, the shop has expanded from having a one-car garage to a 40-car facility! Frankly, the company’s growth left a positive mark on us because it can now cater to many clients, especially compared to other radiator repair shops.

It’s a BBB-accredited service, ensuring good customer service. It will also allow clients to have professional support from the BBB in case of complaints.

We also appreciate that the technicians are available on Saturdays until 3:00 pm. It’s convenient for clients who work on weekdays.

Moreover, they can do simple maintenance and repairs on the same day. Since they have longer hours on weekdays, clients will have plenty of time to get their cars after the repair.

As for their equipment, we were glad they could provide a complete radiator repair to ensure it works properly. They are properly equipped to provide a comprehensive system check to find any radiator issues.

A drawback is the high prices, which shocked their clients (and us!). Some repairs were almost double the price when we compared them to other radiator repair services in Edmonton.

That’s why we recommend checking their in-house financing if the repair costs get too expensive. This will offer flexible payment options for those with extensive repairs.

It’s also unfortunate that their shop is in Sherwood Park. We found that driving a bit longer to get to Park Muffler’s facility can be scary with a damaged radiator.
