So, forget life’s troubles, even just for a while. Let me help you indulge yourself in the best spas I’ve visited in Ontario during my travels and escape to a world of total bliss. See if these are the right spots for you!

Pros
- Located in an 1800s castle
- Offers a variety of spa treatments
- Guests get a spa allowance
- Guests have complete use of facilities
- All spa stays include meals
Cons
- Pricey for weekend stays; has a 2-night minimum
Ste. Anne’s Spa is the place for complete relaxation. You get to have a spa day in an 1800s castle in the countryside of Northumberland, just a 1.5-hour drive from downtown Toronto.
You can even stay here for the weekend because they offer overnight spa experiences, which include delicious meals. Each room is also unique, complete with views of the property, adding a touch of luxury to the tranquil spa getaway.
However, weekend stays require a minimum of two nights, which can be pricey. Then again, it’s the perfect time to relax away from the hustle and bustle because you get an all-inclusive service, including a spa allowance you can use for body treatments.
We also like Ste. Anne’s Spa because you can pretty much get any kind of spa treatment you want here. You can get body scrubs, detox wraps, facials, foot and hand therapy, and massages.
There’s even a cute gluten-free bakery you can visit during your stay—it’s a unique feature for a spa, no? But you don’t even need that because both the day and overnight spa include meals.
This gorgeous spa castle is definitely worth considering. You can also enjoy the facilities, like the steam room and hot tub, so the prices are worth it.

Pros
- Has views of the Niagara Escarpment
- Has year-round indoor and outdoor amenities
- Facility meets accessibility standards
- Provides gender-neutral bathrooms
- Staff had AODA training
Cons
- Limited selection of spa treatments
- Prices are expensive; has peak rates
As their name suggests, Scandinave Spa Blue Mountain is the ultimate relaxation spot in the mountains! Here, you’ll find gorgeous views of the Niagara Escarpment, plus indoor and outdoor amenities all year round.
Upon checking them out, we noticed that this day spa specializes in thermal spa services. They even have a guided thermal journey, which includes a rental robe and a spa boutique gift—there’s also a forest walking trail you can visit before your thermal spa.
But we particularly love their variety of massage services, which include prenatal, relaxation, therapeutic, swinging, and duo massages. It’s just a bummer that the spa treatments don’t have a huge variety since they focus on thermal spas and massages only.
It’s also worth mentioning that you can choose your gender preference for your massage therapist. This is nice because it allows you to be more comfortable during the spa treatment—and they’re all registered massage therapists (RMT).
Plus, the place is very accessible for people with disabilities—they even finished the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) training to ensure they can provide a positive experience for everyone.
The prices are just a tad higher, especially during peak days or seasons—yup, you get a more expensive rate in certain months. But they still offer a serene experience, making every loonie worth it.

Pros
- An award-winning spa
- Provides a wide variety of spa treatments
- Prices are reasonable
- Has a lot of appointment slots
Cons
- Limited selection of body treatments
- Not open daily
Upon checking their credentials, The Upkeep Shoppe impressed us! It’s an award-winning spa in Ottawa, receiving the Canada Prestige Awards in 2024 and the Luxury Travel Guide’s Day Spa of the Year in 2019/2020.
This spa is like a cute little house, and it has a nice calming atmosphere inside. It has an elegant touch as well and the place feels relaxing (there’s even complimentary tea).
This is also like a one-stop destination for all your relaxation needs, which is very convenient. You can get a stress-release relaxation massage or Reiki, but we found full body massages just have a limited selection.
Still, we like the variety of their manicure and pedicure services, which means there’s something for everyone. You can even add a neck and shoulder massage while waiting for your nail polish to dry.
It’s also nice that there are facials, eyebrows, and waxing services. You don’t just get to relax but also get your beauty treatments done.
We’re just iffy that they’re not open daily. But they do have a lot of slots for appointments, so you can be flexible with your time.
So, they’re a solid choice overall since the prices are reasonable here. You only have to pay $138 for a 2-hour package that includes a manicure, pedicure, and neck and shoulder massage.

Pros
- Located in an 1800s farmhouse
- Spa packages are customizable
- Offers outdoor spa packages
- Outdoor packages are available during winter
- Provides a wide variety of spa treatments
Cons
- Spa experiences are pricey
- Not open daily
Fieldstone Spa is not your typical relaxation spot. Here, you’ll get to experience unique spa retreats, which are awesome for those romantic weekend getaways.
You’ll be greeted by a gorgeous 1800s farmhouse, which is a nice way to start your spa experience, and we like that you can also have personalized pamper sessions.
Basically, there are plenty of spa treatments to treat yourself with. There’s a body wrap, therapeutic massage, prenatal massage, hand and foot care (including treatment for aching legs), facials, and even guided meditations.
But what makes them stand out is their outdoor massage experiences. You can choose to get your massage in an igloo or pavilion, which lets you breathe in the fresh air and listen to the sounds of nature during your treatment.
Plus, there’s an outdoor spa package for the winter months, which is nice because you can still relax outside without freezing. There’s a heated igloo equipped with heated blankets and an outdoor firepit to keep you warm after your hot stone massage.
Just a heads up: spa experiences here have high price tags and they’re not open daily. But if you’re looking for a tranquil place to visit, we still think this is a great choice.

Pros
- Has a convenient location
- Open any day of the week
- Offers many spa packages
- Provides RMT and non-RMT massages
Cons
- Has a limited selection of spa treatments
- Some miscommunication issues
H2O Float Studio is not your typical day spa. It’s a sensory deprivation spot if you’re looking to completely ease your mind—and you can get massages here, too.
This spa is located in the iconic Distillery District in Toronto, which is one of the places you have to visit in the city. You can also get a massage any day of the week, which is very convenient.
The treatments here are hydrotherapy, massage, and facials. Although there’s a limited selection of spa treatments, it kind of makes sense since they specialize in float therapy.
The good thing is there’s a variety of spa packages, which is awesome since you can get the one you need the most. The float cabins also have 1,000 lbs of pure Epsom salt so you can float on water for the ultimate relaxation.
Plus, some insurance plans can cover the massage treatments here since you can get an RMT. Non-RMTs will also have cheaper prices, which is nice for the wallet.
It’s just a bummer that the service quality is affected due to some miscommunication issues, but it’s a relief that it doesn’t happen often.
All in all, this is still a solid option for hydrotherapy because they frequently add new packages (some are themed) to try.
