What we like about Storguard Self-Storage is that it’s a straightforward service. It’s basically no-frills—you rent your unit and you’re good to go.

It’s conveniently located, just a couple of minutes from downtown. The place is also accessible by vehicles since there’s a good number of loading bays.

It’s convenient for any storage needs. The smallest unit is 2’ x 4’ for small items, while the largest is up to 10’ x 15’, which can accommodate stuff from a 3-bedroom apartment—all are heated, too!

During our visit, we were impressed by their security. It’s a well-lit, newly renovated building, where you need to sign in with the manager so you get face-to-face interactions, and there’s a carwash with a security guard right on-site!

The catch is there are no extended hours, even on weekends. The upside is their prices are some of the most competitive near downtown—the 25% off the first four months is an added perk!

Pockit Self Storage is all about keeping your things secure. The security system is impressive, with monitored video surveillance, keypad-controlled access to doors and gates, high-security locks, and even document shredding!

In addition, we loved how easy it was to get around. Moving supplies was not tough to do since everything was organised and clean!

An added perk is that you can request 24-hour access. But honestly, it’s not needed since they close late.

Most of the units are climate-controlled, which is awesome for keeping your things safe from severe temperatures. There are different sizes for every need as well, from 5’ x 5’ to 10’ x 20’.

It’s cool that you get the option to choose the most accessible units. Some have elevator access, while others are near the staircase.

Although their self-storage units aren’t the most affordable—the cheapest is $99 a month—you can take advantage of the discounts and price match guarantee. But you still get what you pay for!

It was not surprising that Maple Leaf Self Storage became a favourite amongst our staff. It offers way more than storage rentals!

The amenities are very convenient for moving things in and out. There are packing supplies, a 24-hour monitor access system, and heavy-duty moving carts.

They even accept packages for business clients! We love that the service here is personalised since you can ask if they can accommodate your other needs.

Additionally, the oversized elevators were helpful for bringing large items without worries. We were also impressed that there were a couple of elevators available, so there was no need to wait long.

As for the climate-controlled units, there’s quite a lot of sizes available. The motion light sensors and music in the hallways are nice to keep you feeling safe.

It’s a bummer they don’t offer 24-hour access, though. They do have extended hours, but they’re still not enough if you’re getting off from work.

Vault Valet Storage makes the whole moving process easy. From what we’ve seen, they provide all the convenience you’ll need, except on Sundays for indoor storage.

Let’s start with their storage units, which are dry ventilated and all located on the ground floor. There’s no need to go up and down the elevators—an incredible perk!

Plus, you can easily access your unit since the distance isn’t longer than 70 feet. The tall ceilings also allow you to bring more items, although the width isn’t as big as others in the area—their largest is 8’ x 20’ x 8’ instead of the usual 10’ x 30’.

The amenities are just too good! They offer delivery acceptance, free locks, complimentary moving supplies (for rentals six months and up), and move-in/move-out assistance!

All these are affordable, too. You can get the largest unit for as low as $166.98 a month and add a tad more for valet storage service.

One of our favourites in the North Shore is Griffin Self Storage because of their customer service. You get a personalised service—even the clients we spoke with mentioned this!

They’re located in the heart of North Vancouver and are fairly easy to spot across Capilano Mall. The parking area is fenced and gated, too, adding a level of security.

From what we saw, there was a decent variety of affordable storage units that can accommodate stuff from 2 to 3-bedroom apartments. The climate-controlled units are available in 5’ x 5’ to 10’ x 20’ sizes.

The wine storage and business centre takes the spotlight! You can take advantage of package receiving and having a wine cellar!

It’s also cool that the storage facility is modern, bright, and clean! We felt safe walking in and out of the place.

Our only issue is that the office is closed on weekends. You can still visit your storage unit every day, with 24-hour access available.
