Pros

  • Offers free quotation
  • Has 24/7 emergency claims hotline
  • Available seven days a week
  • Excellent and skilled brokers
  • Responsive and fast quotations
  • Brokers are fluent in multiple languages

Cons

  • Can improve follow-up services

Nation West Insurance has a team of insurance brokers with decades of collective expertise. For us, their experience means they can give you various coverage options that fit your needs and budget.

We like that you can inquire about their offers and gauge their services by availing of their free quotation. It’s also great that they’re pretty quick and easy to reach too — you can expect a quote within 24 hours and even phone them on weekends!

From our surveys, we found that their insurance brokers are highly personable and knowledgeable.

Many clients commended how they were given personalized recommendations for unique conditions. So, you shouldn’t hold back on your concerns and requests to get the best coverage.

Another plus for us is that they have a 24/7 hotline for emergency insurance claims, giving you some peace of mind during stressful situations.

It also helps that they are responsive and quick in getting on top of things. For instance, an insurance broker already provided the necessary documents for a client who was about to move out of MB — saving him the hassle of filling out paperwork.

On the flip side, we noted a few concerns with their follow-up services, such as cancellation of insurance and billing. Although, we have to give them points for owning up to mistakes and resolving them as soon as possible.

Nonetheless, we are impressed with Nation West Insurance’s track record of providing good client support and hassle-free processing.

Pros

  • Has friendly and knowledgeable staff
  • Has an after-hours emergency claims hotline
  • Has many long-term clients
  • HIghly responsive

Cons

  • Closed on weekends
  • Can improve on providing client reminders

Avant Insurance Brokers provides client-centred insurance plans for homes, autos, and more. We like that they have vast experience and options, whether you’re a first-timer, a homebuyer, a college student or a business owner.

From our surveys, we found that many clients like Avant’s friendly and knowledgeable staff and team.

We also believe this is their strong suit because many mentioned that they were given a comfortable space for discussion. Many also appreciated how they can laymanize relatively complicated terms.

It’s also notable that Avant has many long-term clients who continue to rely on them because of the brokers’ consistent quality of after-sales service support. Furthermore, we found that Avant has a seamless processing and claims for home, auto and business insurance plans.

However, we hope they also improve on bumping reminders to their clients via call or email, such as following up on time-sensitive requirements to avoid hiccups during processing.

As for their operating hours, we’re bummed that they’re not available on weekends, which means you need to take some time off your weekdays for a better discussion. Nonetheless, we appreciate their 24/7 hotline for emergency insurance claims.

Ultimately, we think Avant Insurance Brokers is your go-to guy for insurance plans in Winnipeg if you’re looking for a quick response to your inquiry and concerns!

Pros

  • Has a team fluent in multiple languages
  • Has a 24-hour claim service
  • Offers free online quotation
  • Fast processing times
  • Over 50 years in the industry

Cons

  • Can improve responsiveness
  • Can improve on follow-up services

Since its establishment in 1972, Crossroads Insurance has worked with clients in understanding insurance requirements. Their strong suit is helping identify and analyze loss exposure, and then crafting the best plan to benefit the client.

We’re impressed with their large team of insurance brokers, not to mention many of them are fluent in multiple languages. We saw the value of breaking language barriers, as they had fruitful discussions with non-English speakers.

If you’re eyeing Crossroads Insurance, we suggest you maximize their free online quotation. It’s a convenient way to check out possible insurance premiums at work or quickly see if you want to consider buying insurance.

Given their 50-year experience, we weren’t surprised by their fast processing times after the initial consultation. For instance, they smoothly handled a client’s complex MB license name change process within a few days—that includes the consultation!

But, as a heads-up, we noticed that there had been some processing issues with follow-up services, such as client information changes and coverage adjustments.

We’re also a bit iffy about their responsiveness, especially when you try to reach them through email. So we suggest you give them a call or visit them at the office.

Regardless, Crossroads Insurance has a large team of insurance brokers equipped with years of experience to get you started with your insurance plan as soon as possible.

Pros

  • Fluent in English, Hindi, and Punjabi
  • Available seven days a week
  • Provides reliable long-term services
  • Has a 24-hour claims via hotline and website

Cons

  • Slightly pricier paperwork and reprints
  • Can improve on waiting times
  • Some reports of unresponsiveness

We’re glad that Coughlin Insurance Brokers offers all types of insurance like home, life, business and watercraft insurance. In our books, their services are perfect for first-time buyers that don’t want to get overwhelmed with all the requirements.

What we like most about them is that most of their brokers are fluent in English, Hindi, and Punjabi, making their services more accessible to those who may have trouble with language barriers.

From our surveys, we learned that their team of brokers provided clients with helpful and prompt services.

For instance, a client just moved in from Ontario and approached Coughlin to have their autopac updated, and fortunately, was handed the permit number in less than 15 minutes. The process was pretty quick, especially since other companies refused to assist them!

However, the same doesn’t apply to their waiting times, as some clients sat in lines for hours before they were accommodated. Should you consider visiting them, we suggest you make an appointment at least two days before the date.

As for their rates, we are a bit iffy about some of their charges for paperwork and reprints. For context, we noted a report that the client paid $15 just for a reprint of some documents.

Ultimately, we think Coughlin Insurance Brokers is a one-stop shop that’s perfect for people new to the world of insurance.

Pros

  • Has friendly and knowledgeable team
  • Attention to detail and necessary precautions
  • Excellent in laymanizing and explaining

Cons

  • Can improve website features
  • Can improve processing times
  • Some reports of unresponsiveness

What we like most about Tyndall Insurance is their emphasis on their mission to be your personal advisor on insurance matters.

On that note, we noticed they’re unbiased in suggesting different insurance companies and not trying to upsell any unnecessary inclusions — your interests come first.

We also have to give them props for considering every client’s concerns and requests while ensuring they don’t cut corners. From our research, we found they take necessary precautions to avoid future issues with paperwork.

On the downside, there are times when this meticulous approach causes them to push back the set deadline for a certain job. Some clients have complained about their autopac taking more than five days to finish — exceeding the allotted time frame.

Another thing that has been bugging us is their unresponsiveness to calls and emails, especially for new clients. That said, we suggest you ask for another contact number that directly connects you to the broker.

We also think they should work on updating their website because it falls flat in effectively informing potential clients of their services. Plus, it would be nice if they added a feature for claims.

Regardless, we are impressed with the insurance brokers’ skill in laymanizing complicated insurance terms and policies for first-time buyers. It makes the entire process less overwhelming and more holistic.
