Pros
- The clinic has been operational since 2016
- The audiologist is available on evenings and weekends via request
- Offers four types of audiology treatment
- The website has an online hearing test
Cons
- The clinic only has one audiologist
- Has relatively lesser experience
Dr. Ruhee Kassam is one of the audiologists in Edmonton that can be at your service if you need professional assistance with your hearing.
Dr. Kassam has been in practice for more than a decade after getting her master’s degree in Audiology from the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. And in 2016, she founded The Audiology Clinic Edmonton and has been there ever since.
Although there are many experienced audiologists already, we think Dr. Kassam’s over a decade of familiarity is enough to reassure patients that her services are top-notch.
We also like that despite being the only audiologist at her clinic, Dr. Kassam has successfully run her business and maintained a regular clientele for years.
Like other audiologists, Dr. Kassam’s services include auditory diagnosis, treatment, hearing loss prevention, and customized fittings of hearing aids and musician earplugs.
Speaking of which, Dr. Kassam’s clinic also provides online hearing tests. This service is a plus point for us because it allows patients to conveniently check their hearing–although limited–in their own homes.
Meanwhile, we discovered that patients of Dr. Kassam like her because of her communicative approach towards them. They remember her for thoroughly shedding light on their situation and discussing the best possible move for them.
Also, unlike other audiologists, Dr. Kassam is available for an appointment in the evenings and weekends through special requests. For us, this is what sets her apart from others.
However, Dr. Kassam, as mentioned earlier, is the only audiologist at her clinic. We consider this a minor drawback, as it may pose a problem if your schedules do not match and you need immediate attention.

Pros
- Topped the national certification exam in 2003
- Specializes in treating tinnitus and hyperacusis
- The clinic offers three types of services
- The clinic has three hearing care plan
Cons
- The audiologist is hard to book in a few instances
Are you looking for professional care which can end the irritating tinnitus you are experiencing? Perhaps you may need a medical approach from a specialist audiologist like Dr. Laréna Lewchuk.
Dr. Lewchuk is an audiologist whose specialty is treating tinnitus and hyperacusis. But, what we think sets her apart from others is her application of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to address the said conditions.
To give light on her background, in 2003, Dr. Lewchuk got her master’s degree from the Western University in London, Canada. Aside from graduating, she also topped the national certification exam for that year.
And with such credentials and almost two decades of experience, Dr. Lewchuk’s bedside manner is well-received by her patients. Most of them feel confident about her treatment because of her thoroughness and meticulousness throughout the treatment.
However, those are also why Dr. Lewchuk is in-demand and is hard to book sometimes. Still, we do not consider it a hindrance since the three audiologists in her clinic can also help if you need immediate attendance.
Speaking of which, Dr. Lewchuk is working at the Audiology Clinic of Northern Alberta. Similar to other clinics, it offers hearing treatment, diagnosis, and prevention, as well as auditory accessories fitting and customization.
Apart from the usual services, the clinic also provides two services that we think are notable. Specifically, these are aural rehabilitation (which assists the brain in getting used to sounds) and wax removal.
Also, we think it is worth sharing the clinic’s hearing treatment plan. You can choose its six months, yearly or five-year plan, which we can say provide a good set of options whether you need short-term or long-term auditory care.
3. Nicuta Gairns – Wild Rose Audiology Clinic Ltd

Pros
- The audiologist worked in reputable hospitals
- Audiologist teaches at a university
- The clinic has more audiology services than others
Cons
- The clinic only has one audiologist
Nothing matters more for children than having proper development of senses while growing up. And if your child is having hearing difficulties, it is best to see a specialist like Dr. Nicuta Gairns.
Dr. Gairns specializes in pediatrics audiology because of her medical degree in pediatrics, master’s degree, and doctorate degree in audiology, which she got in 1987 and 2000, and 2007 respectively.
We were also amazed when we discovered Dr. Gairns’s otorhinolaryngology certification, which she has incorporated into her practice since she received it in 1994.
With all those details mentioned, we can easily say that Dr. Gairns has better credentials than others. It is more than enough to instill enough confidence and satisfaction in her patients.
As a matter of fact, parents who visited her are satisfied with her warm approach. One of the clients, who has a son with autism, liked Dr. Gairns’s patience towards her child, as it clearly shows her genuineness in bettering her patients.
Aside from pediatric audiology, Dr. Gairns and her clinic, Wild Rose Audiology Clinic Ltd., also offer related services. Here, patients can get a diagnosis, treatment, and ear accessory fittings.
Speaking of which, we want to share that Wild Rose has a reputable background as a clinic and business. It has been operational since 1994 and has an A+ rating and accreditation from Better Business Bureau (BBB).
But, Dr. Gairns is in-demand with patients because of her credentials in treating children with hearing problems. Although not drastic, it may pose a problem if your child needs prompt attendance from a specialist.
Nevertheless, the clinic has five other audiologists that can fill in Dr. Gairns’ position.
4. Dr. Devendra Saindane – Hearing Care Doctors
Services: Hearing Treatment and Diagnosis, Hearing Loss Prevention, Tinnitus Care, Hearing Aid and Music Plugs Fittings and Customization

Pros
- The audiologist worked in reputable hospitals
- Audiologist teaches at a university
- The clinic has more audiology services than others
Cons
- The clinic only has one audiologist
A medical professional backed with years of experience can bag the confidence of their clients. And if that credential is critical for you, perhaps Dr. Devendra Saindane is the right audiologist for you.
Dr. Saindane has been in practice since 2003. Since then, he has worked in various hospitals in Canada and the United Kingdom.
For us, the most notable hospital he has worked in is Northwest London Hospitals as a senior audiologist for more than five years.
Also, Dr. Saindane has a doctorate in audiology, which he got from Nova Southeastern University in 2008. In addition to those, he is also a faculty at MacEwan University.
Now, Dr. Saindane owns and works at Hearing Care Doctors Ltd., where he offers hearing treatment for patients of all ages.
Meanwhile, we noticed the clinic offers hunter’s hearing protection and assistive listening devices (ALDs) that can provide extra help for people with or without hearing aids.
In addition to the quality of his services, his patients positively receive his professional etiquette. Most of whom we got in touch with liked his patience in explaining their condition and accommodating their requests, especially on schedules.
But despite that, Dr. Saindane is the only audiologist in his clinic, rendering his schedule unavailable for an immediate consultation or emergency. Nevertheless, we consider this a minor drawback, as patients can still visit him by setting an appointment.
5. Tania Gora – Living Sounds Hearing Centre
Services: Hearing Treatment and Diagnosis, Hearing Loss Prevention, Tinnitus Care, and Hearing Aid and Music Plugs Fittings and Customization

Pros
- In practice since 2010
- Clinic offers AI-assisted hearing aids
- Clinic has seven locations
Cons
- Only one branch offers medical treatment
Dr. Tania Gora is an Edmontonian audiologist from the Living Sounds Hearing Centre that can help you solve your hearing problems.
We think it is worth sharing that she has over a decade of experience since being a certified audiologist in 2010. It was also in that year when she got her master’s in audiology and speech sciences from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver.
Throughout those years, Dr. Gora has received and treated numerous patients. Most of them remember her for being thorough, friendly, and patient in hearing their concerns and addressing them.
Meanwhile, most patients visiting Dr. Gora and her clinic ask for tinnitus care aside from the usual audiology treatment, hearing aid fittings, and maintenance.
Although those services are a plus point for us, we are amazed to discover its AI-assisted hearing aids called Evolv AI. Among its many features, it is most notable is the body and brain activity tracker that can detect when a patient falls.
Aside from that, the Living Sounds Hearing Centre has seven branches in Edmonton. But here’s the catch: not all have hearing treatment services, so you may have to visit its branch at Sherwood Park if you need immediate care.
Nevertheless, we still think having other locations to choose from can be helpful in certain instances, such as asking for maintenance or repair of your hearing aid.
