The 5 Best Acupuncture Clinics in Calgary That Transformed Our Health
Raise your hand if you think acupuncture hurts. I was one of those. The movie industry certainly didn’t help—The Matrix scene, hello?
But I was getting the worst migraines, and my buddy suggested actually getting poked in the skin. I was terrified but desperate and out of options, so I went.
And honestly, it was the best decision I’ve made. I didn’t realize how much pain I was actually in until it all went away!
So I’ve been sort of a spokesperson in the office, telling everyone to see an acupuncturist for their pain. I’m not a gatekeeper, so I’m sharing these acupuncturists in Calgary my pals and I have been to because they actually saved our lives!

Pros
- Highly educated acupuncturist
- Specializes in PCOS and fertility issues
- Incorporates Chinese and modern medicine
- Offers a discounted rate for happy hour
Cons
- Closed on weekends
- Only 1 acupuncturist in the clinic
One of our spots for acupuncture in Calgary is Acupuncture with Madison, which was founded by Madison Downton, a registered acupuncturist.
A biology graduate from the University of Alberta, Madison switched gears to the field of Chinese Medicine, eventually earning a diploma in acupuncture at Grant MacEwan University.
Madison is also registered with the Alberta Association of Acupuncturists and Traditional Chinese Medical Doctors (AAATCD) and the Alberta Association of Acupuncturists and Traditional Chinese Medical Doctors (AAATCD)—impressive stuff!
Delving deeper, we found that Madison is well-known for focusing on women’s reproductive health, especially those with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and fertility issues.
But she also offers acupuncture for pain, stress, injuries, and migraines, which is cool because she can cater to more clients with these conditions.
We’re also impressed with how she incorporates Chinese medicine with modern medicine. She even works alongside doctors at MAUD Medical Clinic.
It’s nice that her approach results in a more personalized treatment. When we surveyed her clients, many mentioned how they felt at ease with Madison’s treatment and instruction.
It’s just unfortunate that her clinic is closed on weekends, which we understand since she’s the only acupuncturist there.
On the bright side, Madison has an acupuncture happy hour, during which you get 20% off on your treatment anytime between 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm—pretty good deal, right?

Pros
- Has three acupuncturists on the team
- Offers a diverse range of services
- Open seven days a week
- Most services include various benefits
Cons
- No free consultations
Botanical Point in Inglewood has become our go-to because of their incredible team. They have three acupuncturists on board, and all are registered doctors of acupuncture, which is cool because that means they’re highly trained and experienced.
It also speaks about their accessibility since they can accept more clients. Their clinic is also open seven days a week, which means you can book them on your days off.
They offer a diverse range of services, which lets them cater to different needs. Basically, they have it all, from cosmetic acupuncture to sports medicine acupuncture, herbal prescriptions to holistic nutrition, and fire cupping to acutonics sound healing.
Their initial consultations are also pretty thorough, which is awesome because you’ll get a more specialized plan. It’s also nice that their acupuncturists are knowledgeable and always knows the right questions to ask.
The clients we spoke with have also noted how helpful their acupuncturists were. They felt supported throughout the treatment, which we agree with and speaks volumes about Botanical Point’s incredible work ethic.
It’s just a bummer that they don’t offer free consultations. But then again, their services are pretty fair in pricing in Calgary, and their acupuncture includes other benefits, too, which makes them a solid choice.

Pros
- Won the 2023 Consumer Choice Award
- Offers a diverse range of services
- Provides no needle acupuncture
- Has free consultations
Cons
- Cancellation charge is full price of treatment
Founded in 2019, Acupuncture Collective has already made their mark in the industry. They won the 2023 Consumer Choice Award in Business Excellence in the Southern Alberta Region, which is evidence of their incredible service.
Their services are diverse, which we appreciate because they can cater to different types of needs. Here’s what they offer: classic acupuncture, facial acupuncture, no needle acupuncture, cupping, massage therapy, and more.
Their no needle acupuncture is worth highlighting because it’s not something you normally think is possible. They do this through ear seed auriculotherapy, which reduces pain and still has the same benefits as classic acupuncture.
They can treat a variety of health issues, which is awesome. This includes pain, fertility issues, insomnia, and mental health.
We like their prices, too, because they’re all within the reasonable range in the area. The initial classic acupuncture treatment is only $135, while follow-ups are $90.
If you have an appointment, you need to make sure you’re actually free to do it. Their cancellation policy indicates you’ll get charged the amount of your appointment if you don’t show up.
On a good note, they’re available daily for free 15-minute consultations via phone or in person. That makes them a convenient acupuncture service and a top pick.

Pros
- Has a wide range of expertise
- Rates are affordable
- Offers complimentary phone consultations
- Works with children
Cons
- No Saturday bookings available
For over 20 years, The Acupuncture And Health Centre has served Calgary and focused on classic acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine. But we like that they still offer other services, like facial acupuncture for healthier skin.
Their team is composed of five members, including registered acupuncturists with over a decade of experience each. They’re also doctors of Chinese medicine, in which acupuncture is a part of.
They have a wide range of expertise, too, including women’s health, pain, mental health, and pediatrics. It’s nice they work with adults and children, which says a lot about their approach.
During our research, we were thrilled to learn that these folks are well-known for their compassion. It’s something we noticed as well, and we appreciate that they’re flexible when working with different types of clients.
It’s pretty rad that they offer complimentary phone consultations for new acupuncture patients.
It’s even more remarkable that their rates are affordable, which helps a lot if you have a limited budget. They charge $150 for the initial in-depth consultation (this is after the free phone consultation), and then follow-up treatments are $110.
We just noticed they don’t necessarily have Saturday openings, but they’re still open most of the week, so that makes up for it.

Pros
- Uses advanced techniques and Chinese medicine
- Has impressive credentials
- Provides competitive prices
Cons
- Has limited availability
Christianne Parrott, who has over 15 years of experience, founded Apple Blossom Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine in 2016. What we like about her is she uses advanced techniques and traditional Chinese medicine to achieve better results.
She actually majored in biological sciences and psychology at the University of Alberta and then studied acupuncture. She even took an internship in China and continued to pursue continuing education, which impressed us a lot.
Part of her credentials include a 5-year teaching stint at the Canadian Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Basically, her extensive educational background impressed us a lot.
Her services are therapeutic acupuncture, cosmetic acupuncture, Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF), and Accusage, which has a nice variety. She helps clients suffering from pain, injuries, and other musculoskeletal system problems.
She also charges competitive pricing for her services, which is awesome. An initial consultation plus treatment is only $130, which is really affordable.
She’s well-known for being approachable, which we’re glad about. The clients we spoke with loved the kindness and patience she showed, which are qualities you want if you’re scared of needles.
It’s just unfortunate she’s only available four days a week. But her skills and positive approach make her a good choice overall.
