Olympus Hair Studio really puts their reputation to work as an inclusive space, welcoming people of all ages and genders—kids included—which really got our thumbs up.
From the moment we entered, we felt very welcome, as the staff was genuinely attentive! As for the team, they’re known for handling any hair type—short, long, straight, or curly.
Another thing that sets them apart is their approach to beard grooming. Whether it’s a goatee, a full beard, or a moustache, every trim comes with premium hot towel service—clients rave about this!
For hair, we noted that they’re experts in everything, from classic cuts to creative colour designs and detailed balayage. Hair masks to restore health post-colour are also available!
They’re also one of the few salons in the city to offer hair tattoos and even in-person courses for creative buzzcuts, which is a hit for people who want to learn the ropes themselves.
Booking is incredibly convenient—most clients agreed that their online system is fuss-free. However, if you’re looking for a full beauty spa experience, you’ll want to look elsewhere since they focus solely on hair services.
Friendly, creative, and helpful stylist
“Marie is absolutely a great hairstylist!!

Salon Freyja seriously sets the bar high for anyone who cares about both hair and the planet. Freyja has made environmental responsibility and inclusivity the heart of their business, thanks to their carbon-neutral certification.
Not just this, but we’ve also learned that the team is always keeping its skills sharp with regular training and workshops. Service-wise, they handle everything from basic cuts to wild colours, curly hair, perms, and event styling.
Most people keep coming back for their colour, and that largely comes down to the Davines line they work with, which not only delivers super-rich results but is also ethically produced.
Their refill program for Davines products is a favourite among clients—plus, there’s a 20%discount, which makes it that much easier to be eco-friendly.
For those who just want to unwind and not chat, they’ve also got this silent appointment option, which regulars say helps them really relax.
The only problem is that you’re stuck with street parking or nearby paid lots, which can be a bit annoying if you’re in a rush.
Relaxing atmosphere and attentive staff
“Shoutout to Serena, who gave me one of the best blowouts of my life! I had such a great experience here—calm energy in the salon (you don’t leave feeling overstimulated by the sound of music or the blow dryer, on the contrary!), clean space, sweet staff and they use great products on your hair. 100% will be back :)”
– Noor A., Google Review
Thoughtful corrective service
“I had my first appointment at Salon Freyja yesterday and have finally found my salon in Montreal! Impeccable! Laura was the perfect balance of professional and kind, she righted many wrongs—I walked out feeling more like myself than I have in a long time! Thank you Laura, I’m excited to continue this healthy hair journey at Salon Freyja :)”

We’ve got to say, L’Atelier Coiffure & Esthétique is like that friend who’s somehow good at everything. This spot isn’t just about cuts and blowouts (though, yes, they do those for men, women, and kids).
They’re also your go-to if you want to refresh your colour, try out a Steampod, or get a keratin treatment. We also like that they use brands like Kerastase and Aveda—not just for the salon work, but you can actually buy these products!
The best part? If you’re juggling five things at once, you can stack your hair appointment with a facial, laser hair removal, or even microneedling (and yes, they do makeup and lush staff too).
The vibe here is super welcoming, especially thanks to staff who know what they’re doing and really make you feel at ease. Making an appointment is straightforward, and we’d be lying if we said we didn’t appreciate their flexible hours.
We’ll be real, though: the mani-pedi game here isn’t the best, so if you’re picky about your nails, maybe stick to hair and skin.
Skilled and attentive styling experience
“Phenomenal experience at l’Atelier!
Mélissa gave me the most beautiful long, textured bob done with so much care, precision, and technique. She truly knows what she’s doing, and I admire how dedicated she is to making the entire experience pleasant for her clients.
I highly recommend this salon if you’re looking for a nice, grounded atmosphere (literally, since it’s on the lower-level floor) and a genuinely human experience. You won’t be disappointed!”
– Sabrina Bawa, Google Review
Exceptional experience, client-first service
“I’ve had many hair and head massages before, but Charlotte at L’Atelier Coiffure truly stood out. Even though it wasn’t part of her usual role, she stepped in to help her colleagues so I wouldn’t be left waiting — and I’m so glad she did. Her professionalism and skills were exceptional! Honestly, it was the best hair and head massage I’ve had. Thank you again, Charlotte — I’ll definitely be coming back !”

Pure Salon’s team—especially the co-owners Anna Pacitto, Frederico Pacitto, and Daniel Benoît—aren’t just big names locally. They’ve got international reputations, and those North American hairdressing awards just keep stacking up.
We also noticed every stylist brings their own creative spin, so whether you’re looking for a super classic bob or ready to try a trending shade like molten brunette (yep, it’s a thing there), they’re game to deliver.
The menu is pretty stacked too: cuts for all genders, major colour work, highlights, hair treatments, extensions, relaxers, and even makeup for special occasions.
You’ll also be happy to know that they use safe, premium products here, like Davines’ line. Booking is also easy, and free consultations are perfect if you’re unsure or want to brainstorm ideas.
Plus, their space is bright and modern—definitely not cramped or intimidating. If we’re nitpicking, long waits are a common story, and we’ve consistently heard about their poor phone customer service.
Attentive styling with precision
“I had my hair done by France and I am really happy with the results! France was kind and professional and was keen on making my hair look perfect. I have long hair and just wanted a trim and to have it styled for this wedding I’m attending and France nailed the look I was going for. I highly recommend this salon!”

If you’re into the idea of an actually inclusive, gender-neutral salon experience, Two Horses genuinely hits the mark.
Their Monday private bookings for hijab-, burka-, and niqab-wearing women deserve a shoutout—total privacy with locked doors, and the staff is clearly committed to comfort and respect.
They’re super mindful even about things like overstimulation—a silent appointment is just a click when booking! Service-wise, whoever we spoke to could explain exactly what would work based on our hair type, density, and previous hair colour.
Their offerings range from buzz cuts, fades, colour corrections, balayage, foilyage, and treatments using premium Kevin Murphy products.
There’s no one-size-fits-all, and they tailor every detail, including gender-neutral scale pricing, so you only pay for what you actually need.
Even better, they offer free consultations by Zoom or in person. The only caveat is that we did notice attempts to upsell treatments or add-ons, which we found a little pushy.
Warm ambiance with attentive staff
“This hair salon is amazing, the interior is really nice and the staff are so friendly. Lena Letizia is an artist, I have never had such an enjoyable experience during a haircut, and I felt so cared for from start to finish. She is very skilled and I enjoyed having a quiet appointment where I could just relax. I’m very happy with the results and would definitely return here.”
