Pros

  • Experienced Instructors Employed
  • In-Class Auditing Options Available
  • Specialized Training Provided

Cons

  • Limited Information on Course Breakdown

Driving 101 offers prospective students the unique opportunity to enroll and audit an in-class session before committing to the full course. This allows individuals to experience the teaching style and environment firsthand, aiding in the decision-making process.

One of the standout features of Driving 101 Driving School is its commitment to providing specialized training for deaf drivers and students with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). This sets them apart from many other driving schools that may not be equipped to handle such cases. The school’s dedication and patience in training these special students highlight their inclusivity and expertise.

Furthermore, their driving instructors at Driving 101 boast a minimum of 25 years of teaching experience in Toronto and Etobicoke. This wealth of experience indicates a high level of expertise and proficiency in driver training. Their instructors also possess university degrees, international experience, and military backgrounds, ensuring a well-rounded and knowledgeable team.

While the school mentions advanced in-car and theoretical classes for full insurance certification, specific details about the courses, curriculum, and pricing are not provided. More comprehensive information on course offerings would be beneficial for potential students seeking detailed insights.

Overall, Driving 101 Driving School stands out as a reputable institution with a commendable focus on inclusivity and specialized training. The extensive experience of instructors, commitment to customer satisfaction, and financial aid initiatives contribute positively to their reputation.

Pros

  • Offers pick-up and drop-off services
  • Provides flexible and customizable courses
  • Has an efficient online system
  • Has female and male instructors
  • Patient and skilled instructors

Cons

  • Can improve responsiveness

Young Star Driving School is MTO certified, but we think that what makes them unique is the customizable touch in their courses. You can tweak lesson hours and package contents for precise instruction, ensuring confidence in the value you’re getting for your investment.

That said, we found their website and online system to be quite useful. Young Star Driving School provides self-paced online learning, allowing students to log in 24/7 and log off at their convenience.

Now, here’s the scoop – we’re a bit iffy about the reports on slow responses from the school. Some folks who were keen to enroll spilled the beans, mentioning the school didn’t quite keep its promise to get back to them promptly after that first call.

On the bright side, we like that they have a mix of both male and female driving instructors on deck. For us, it’s a nice touch for those who lean towards a particular preference, making the comfort level go up a notch—and fostering a smoother learning experience!

We also give props to Young Star Driving School for their patience, as we found that  they’ve got a knack for handling nervous students, especially during in-car training. Multiple students gave them a shout-out for making the learning journey less nerve-wracking.

Lastly, we appreciate that they include pick-up and drop-off services in their packages, adding a layer of convenience for learners. You can focus on training without the hassle of travel logistics.

Pros

  • Offers pickup and drop-off
  • Easy and quick booking process
  • Highly responsive and accommodating
  • Has affordable packages
  • Can help save up to $500 on car purchase

Cons

  • Closed on weekends

What we like most about Kruzee Driving School is that they allow you to book lessons and track your progress completely online. Aside from this, with Kruzee Driving School, you will be the one who will choose your own instructor and book time directly in their schedule.

To give you an idea, Kruzee’s digital-first model and seamless booking system have garnered attention in major newspapers nationwide, including the Toronto Star, Financial Post, Yahoo Finance, CityNews, and Bloomberg.

Moreover, we believe that the platform makes it a breeze for students to discover and pick from a bunch of classes that fit their unique needs.

We also appreciate that they offer free pickup and drop off from wherever you want. It’s a fantastic deal, especially since their rates are pocket-friendly – some even 30% cheaper than other schools.

And though they take weekends off, it’s a relief that they’re highly responsive to inquiries, follow-ups or concerns. So, you’ll probably hear from them as soon as they’re open.

Another thing we found noteworthy is that once you wrap up your lessons with Kruzee, they hand you a unique discount code for snagging a car on Clutch. We also noted that you can benefit from up to $500 savings on your first vehicle purchase.

Pros

  • Has patient and encouraging instructors
  • Has a specialized software for online lessons
  • Offers comprehensive packages

Cons

  • Can improve responsiveness
  • Can improve scheduling

Next on our list is Globe Driving Academy. They offer a Minister of Transportation-approved four-day online course in real-time.

What caught our eye with their online courses is how they make things feel as real as they get. They dish out real-time lessons with their nifty e-learning software, which has helped many students gain better focus during class.

We also like that they offer comprehensive packages with four options, each with different prices and in-car lesson hours. Moreover, every package includes 20 hours of in-class/online lessons, 10 hours of home-link, and the MTO certification process (about $654.27 to $1288.20).

On the downside, we caught wind of some feedback about their slow response times, whether you’re just starting out or already in the game. If you don’t hear back within 1-2 days, you might want to give them another ring.

Adding to the mix, these response delays have caused a bit of a scheduling hiccup between instructors and students, often resulting in sessions getting cancelled. So, just a heads-up, it’s wise to check the availability of your preferred package early on.

But here’s the silver lining – based on what we’ve observed, the instructors are patient and encouraging. Their vibe plays a role in the impressive track record of successful students.

Pros

  • Offers flexible installment plans
  • Available seven days a week
  • Free pick-up and drop-off is provided
  • Road test comes with a refresher lesson

Cons

  • Some reports of sudden rescheduling
  • Can improve approach for beginners

With over 40 years of experience, All Star Driving School continues to provide Government-approved driver training in Central Toronto. From what we’ve gathered, they prioritize defensive driving to provide quality driver education for safer roads and highways.

From our surveys, enrolling in one of their MTO-approved beginner driver education courses for driving techniques is a good choice. With year-round accessibility, they offer flexible schedules, including weekends, evenings, 4-day holidays, and weekday options in the summer.

But we do think it’s quite a bummer after hearing reports about instructors cancelling at the last minute. It ends up pushing back students’ lessons and messing with their schedules, especially for those juggling a busy work life.

Also, just a heads-up: some beginners mentioned that the in-car training can feel a bit like a speed race. So, we suggest you raise this concern to avoid wasting time and money.

On a positive note, it’s admirable that they also throw in a refresher lesson on the day of the road test. It’s a smart move to go over crucial parts of the test, giving students that extra boost of confidence for the real deal.

Finally, we believe All Star Driving School Toronto is a solid choice, especially for those on a budget, as they offer flexible payment plans for their courses.

Pros

  • Has trained over 125,000 students
  • Offer courses in a wide variety of languages
  • Patient and skilled instructors

Cons

  • Can improve communication
  • Some reports of booking issues

Moving on down the list, let’s chat about AMB Driving School. These folks are the real deal – Ministry-approved for Beginners Driver Education (BDE) courses, making them a top-notch choice for new drivers.

We also learned that AMB Driving School has successfully trained over 125,000 students over the years, and that’s no small achievement. It speaks volumes about their consistent performance and overall efficiency, earning them a spot in our good books.

On top of this, we’re highly impressed that they offer courses in a wide variety of languages, including Cantonese, English, French, Greek, Hindi, Mandarin, Punjabi and Urdu. Based on our research, this has been a massive help for immigrants aiming to snag a license.

Another thing we noted is that their instructors are highly patient and skilled. We’ve heard from many first-timers that they’ve been stoked about how calmly the instructors were able to guide them, offering helpful tips and must-knows.

But, we stumbled upon a little hiccup – there were some reports about booking issues. It seems a handful of students ended up unable to go through their driving lessons because there wasn’t an available instructor for their schedule.

Nonetheless, AMB Driving School still gets a nod from us. Their impressive stats and years of experience in the industry make them a reliable choice.
