Established in 1992, Protege School is one of our top massage school picks in Toronto because of their vast experience and knowledge. Because of this, we like this career college if you want to improve your skills or switch jobs.
What’s incredible about their massage therapy program is they use a combination of Asian and European techniques. It’s all about giving their students an edge in the field, which we appreciate.
During our inquiry, we learned that the curriculum is comprehensive and packed with essential information. For 2,200 hours, you’ll delve into the structure and function of the human body and receive hands-on training for an effective massage.
The tuition fee is surprisingly reasonable for a jam-packed curriculum. Full-time students can also apply for a bank credit line if they need help with the tuition.
Moreover, it is registered as a Ontario Career College under the Ontario Career College Act, 2005 (OCCA, 2005).
The only hiccup is it’s not exactly a big school compared to others. Even so, they have room for international students!
Pros
- Combines Asian and European techniques
- Curriculum is comprehensive
- Affordable tuition fee
- Accepts international students
Cons
- Facility is small
Great instructors

When it comes to massage therapy, Pharma-Medical Science College of Canada is one of our trusted schools in Toronto. They started in 2003 and offer a bunch of programs in the medical and health fields for domestic and international students.
Plus, we love their massage therapy curriculum because it provides a lot of hands-on training during the full 88 weeks. You’ll receive 315 hours of clinic practice, which we like because you can develop your skills for real-world settings.
Their facility is worth noting because it’s equipped with modern laboratories. This gives the students access to better and more effective technologies for efficient training.
Another thing we like is their instructors are known for their top-notch teaching methods. During our surveys, we found that the classes went smoothly.
However, their tuition fees are on the expensive side Nonetheless, their staff can provide assistance regarding financial aid.

Royal Canadian College of Massage Therapy specializes in massage therapy, which is one of the reasons we chose them. For us, that shows their vast understanding and skills in the field.
True enough, they offer a bunch of modalities, which makes them very accessible to students with varying career paths. Besides massage therapy, they also offer programs for reflexology, hot stone massage, and Reiki.
A standout program is their canine massage therapy. There are no prerequisites for this and you can even apply even if you have zero massage experience.
During our visit, we loved the modern and decent number of amenities. They even provide accommodation for students with learning disabilities.
The only issue is the schedule is not flexible for mature students since it’s onsite only. The good news is the full-time program is reasonably priced, starting at $18,900.
Pros
- Specializes in massage therapy
- Offers many programs
- Has canine massage therapy
- Decent number of amenities
- Reasonably priced tuition fee
Cons
- No flexible schedules
Easy to follow teachings
“I had the absolute pleasure of taking the Canine Massage Therapy course with instructor Hellen. As an RMT of 27 years and having taken many courses, I can honestly say Hellen is one of the best instructors I’ve had. She is very thorough and patient, making sure her student’s understand the course content and techniques. She takes care in connecting with each student and dog, making sure all are comfortable.
I found her course to be very organized and easy to follow.
I feel that I have learned a wealth of information in a relatively short period of time. I highly recommend this course!”

Sutherland-Chan School of Massage Therapy earned a spot on our list because they focus on massage courses. They’ve been around for a long time since they were incorporated in 1978.
For us, those decades in the field show their valuable experience. In fact, we found out during our research that they have over 30 instructors who are all qualified and are known for being friendly and helpful.
They offer a standard program in massage therapy and an advanced standing program for health professionals. We like their super comprehensive courses, giving the students a lot of knowledge and skills.
There’s a slight problem, though. The overall cost for the standard program is a tad higher than others, reaching over $25,000 if the compulsory fees are included.
But if you think about it, the tuition fee actually goes somewhere. The facilities are well-maintained and the rooms are spacious.
Pros
- Specializes in massage therapy
- Has over 30 instructors
- Comprehensive courses
- Well-maintained facilities
Cons
- Higher tuition fee
Well-trained students
“Sutherland-Chan massage therapy students come to our business once a month to provide chair massages. It is always great! They are professional, responsible and clearly well trained in massage therapy. They’re a big part of our wellness programming.”

In North York, Bryan College is one of our choices because of their solid track record. They’ve been around since 1940, which we believe cemented their name in the field.
They’re also easily accessible. Their campus is actually close to public transportation, which is very handy for students.
When we checked their curriculum, we found that you’ll only take one course at a time. This setup earns points in our books because it allows you to focus better.
Plus, we appreciate that they review their curriculum every year to make sure they teach up-to-date and relevant skills. It’s awesome how they prepare students for real-world settings.
They do this by teaching different modalities so you can gain more experience. This includes Swedish massage, hydrotherapy, and pregnancy massage.
However, it was unfortunate to hear reports about the lack of modern equipment. But there are still complete amenities, but an upgrade would be nice.
Pros
- Established in 1940
- Students take one course at a time
- Curriculum is reviewed yearly
- Teaches different modalities
Cons
- Needs modern equipment
Great support from admissions team
“As a student currently studying Massage Therapy at Bryan College, I have to honestly say that the faculty is like no other. I felt immensely supported by my Admissions Advisor during the initial process of taking a tour, and gathering information before coming to a decision. Throughout the progression of my education at Bryan College, I have come to realize that every staff member is committed to the success of every individual student. It is not only encouraging to your self esteem (especially in an intense program such as Massage Therapy), but it is also reassuring in my choices towards an adult post secondary experience.”
