University of Calgary Continuing Education has been operating as early as the 1960s and has grown to offer more programs and training.

We like that the development of their programs accommodates part-time learners, making it possible for you to pace your program to fit your life. 

They have a long list of programs and designations to accommodate new learners as much as possible.

But, as a heads up: their offices are only available during the weekdays, so we suggest learners allot much-needed time for processing applications to avoid cutoffs.

Conveniently, they offer virtual and on-campus learning so students can benefit from the flexible schedule to fit their lifestyle and other matters.

We also love that their online programs give you 24/7 access to course materials, which we think helps with studying or if you miss any classes.

It’s also noteworthy that they offer different grants, funding, and scholarships for almost every program to assist you on your continuing education journey.

Lastly, we also like that they offer corporate training and programs tailored for a specific field and budget.

Established in 1910, Mount Royal University continues to offer courses, programs, and training, including continuing education.

We appreciate their wide selection of courses, including at least 50 continuing education programs which is relatively more than other schools.

We also like that they offer occupational programs ranging from massage therapy to funeral services. 

Furthermore, we noted positive feedback from students who enrolled for continuing education, particularly with the on-campus experience.

That said, you can go on a virtual campus tour through their website and take a glimpse of their campus or get familiar with it to locate offices if you need to visit.

However, they are closed on weekends, and some offices may be unavailable during these times. Because of this, we encourage students to do weekday university runs as early as possible to avoid peak hours.

Notably, we discovered that you can apply for scholarships, financial aid, and Indigenous scholarships to help start your continuing education. 

We also like that students can opt for online courses, especially those who live far from campus and currently lack the means to relocate.

Finally, a word of caution: we heard inconvenient occurrences regarding withdrawal or cancelling programs and certificates, particularly with getting a refund.

Southern Alberta Institute of Technology provides continuing education, apprenticeships and trades, business and industry training, youth programs, corporate training, and more.

We like the wonderful variety of their continuing education program, which ranges from business to environmental to hospitality and media arts programs. 

But, contrary to their decent amount of continuing education programs, we heard negative experiences, particularly with students enrolling in programs even if it’s already full.

In addition, there are also complaints about the quality of teaching for some courses, comparing it to free crash-course materials online.

Moreover, we think they need to improve their customer service, especially for staff in charge of assisting student affairs. We noted many complaints about their poor communication and responses to issues regarding applications and fees.

Although, we appreciate that they offer financial aid programs such as scholarship grants and loans.

But, we noticed that their application is challenging due to the slow processing and lack of enquiry responses. 

On a better note, provide micro-credentials to help you earn new certified skills and training to help you stand out in the workforce.

We also encourage new students or applicants to take advantage of the virtual tour and download their campus map, to help you navigate their large campus and offices.

Since its establishment in 1986, Columbia College has supported over 40,000 adult learners in achieving their career goals. 

It’s good to note that students can choose between online or classroom-based learning to maximize the effectiveness of the courses and fit their lifestyle. 

We think this is especially helpful for employed students and those busy with other matters.

Although, we think it’s unfortunate that they offer a limited number of continuing education programs and training. 

We noticed that they focus more on health care and other related courses.

We also discovered that they are slightly overpriced compared to other schools, considering Columbia College is a nonprofit organization. 

For instance, we heard student complaints about small classrooms despite costly fees. 

So we suggest those who need financial assistance apply for scholarships or government grants.

On the bright side, we discovered that they offer free college prep courses, which can be handy for those who need help to meet the requirements for their programs.

Another thing we appreciate is their free Saturday Workshops. These series cover various topics, such as computer applications training, communication skills, study skills, and other courses.

Lastly, we advise learners to visit their offices during weekdays with complete requirements to avoid unnecessary visits and have a smooth application process.

Bow Valley College provides various programs and training, such as continuing education, academic upgrading, business, arts, community studies, health, technology, and Indigenous programs.

We like that they also accept and offer corporate training and tailor-fit workshops to enhance their skills. Furthermore, they have a variety of continuing education programs, ranging from accounting to human resources management. 

Conveniently, you can opt for their online, in-campus, home study, and blended learning schemes, whichever is best for your personal schedule.

Another thing we love is that they offer micro-credentials that focus on certifications obtained by demonstrating competencies required by the industry. 

We think it can help you build on your skills to meet the evolving needs of your industry’s demands or help you unlock your next career choice.

On the downside, we noted multiple reports regarding their slow application process due to unresponsiveness, lack of assistance, and internal issues. 

That’s why we recommend students hold on to any payment until they provide proper documentation and confirmation for their application to avoid paying for nothing.

Moreover, we think they need to improve their student services, especially for students having issues with their courses.

For instance, some issues concern the inconsistencies and questionable quality of teaching of some professors.
