Pros
- Advanced Technology and Equipment
- Preventive Eye Health Measures
- Experienced West Edmonton Optometrist
Cons
- Sparse information on range of eyewear
Apex Vision positions itself as a full-service optical center in West Edmonton, offering a range of services with a focus on helping patients achieve clear vision and optimal eye health.
Furthermore, Apex Vision emphasizes preemptive measures to protect patients against more serious health issues beyond basic vision problems. This proactive approach to eye health sets the practice apart by addressing potential concerns before they escalate.
Recognizing the significance of first impressions, Apex Vision combines superior craftsmanship, flexibility, comfort, and durability with ultra-contemporary design. This approach ensures that patients not only achieve clear vision but also look and feel their best with aesthetically pleasing eyewear.
While the review mentions the combination of craftsmanship and contemporary eyewear design, there is limited information on the variety and brands of eyewear available. Offering more details on the range of options could assist patients in making informed choices.
Overall, Apex Vision emerges as a comprehensive optical center with a focus on advanced technology, preventive eye health measures, and a commitment to aesthetic and functional eyewear. The practice’s emphasis on efficiency and convenience, with an on-site optical lab, enhances the overall patient experience.

Pros
- Wide variety of services
- Accepts emergency services
- Wide range of eyewear selection
Cons
- Slightly pricier
- A few customer service complaints
Offering various eye care services is McCormack Optometric Centre. What we like most about them is that their office has state-of-the-art equipment and technology to give you the latest services.
The Edmonton clinic has three optometrists, including its founder – Dr Richard McCormack. Together, they see patients from children to the elderly.
We’re glad to hear about positive experiences from previous clients. The optometrists were thorough and friendly, ensuring a comfortable experience.
Although there were a few complaints about some of the staff’s lack of a friendly approach, we’re glad that they accepted the client feedback and gave their apologies.
We also like their variety of services, which include annual eye exams, ocular therapeutics, and other medical services. There are also available eye care products at the clinic for your convenience.
Moreover, we appreciate that they have corneal refractive therapy (CRT), a non-invasive method of reshaping your cornea. But remember that this process isn’t available for everyone, so you must get a thorough eye exam to check your eligibility.
They also have a full-service optical boutique with different brands to help you find the perfect frame for your face. But to check their selection, you need an appointment first because they don’t accept walk-ins.
The good thing is the clinic is open six days a week. With this schedule, you can easily find a time that will fit your schedule.
Although, we think it’s a drawback that their services are just slightly pricier. Their eyewear selection is full of designer brands which can be a bit expensive for clients on a budget.
On a positive note, McCormack Optometric Centre accepts emergency services for medical conditions. Just remember that this may depend on the availability of the doctor.

Pros
- Wide range of services
- Has five branches
- Long operating hours
- Has an online eyewear shop
Cons
- Not all locations are open daily
- Appointment system issues
- Higher prices
Beyond Vision first opened in 2012 to provide eye care services to residents of Edmonton. Now, they’ve expanded with five branches in Edmonton and Leduc.
There’s a team of qualified optometrists for each branch. Their credentials are readily available on the website for clients who wish to view them.
We believe it’s convenient that the Mill Woods clinic is open daily for clients with busy schedules. You can easily book an appointment, especially with their long operating hours.
But remember that not all branches are open daily, so it’s best to confirm with the clinic first.
Unfortunately, we heard about some issues regarding the appointment system. There were clients whose schedules were changed without permission.
On a positive note, they accept infants to elderly clients for eye exams. We also appreciate that all branches accept children’s eye exams, so you can find a nearby clinic wherever you are in Edmonton.
There’s also an online eyewear shop for quick browsing. We like that you can choose from various brands and styles.
As for their optometrists, we’re glad to know they showed professionalism and efficiency. In addition, the clients we talked with appreciated the thorough and knowledgeable exam.
We found Beyond Vision’s prices to be a tad higher, which a few clients mentioned, too. For instance, their medications and frames were pricier than similar services.
We think it would be good to include a price guide to give their clients an idea. We believe this can avoid surprises regarding the cost of some items.

Pros
- Reasonable prices
- Easy online booking system
- Efficient service
- Team is known for friendly service
Cons
- Closed on Sundays
- Parking difficulty at certain times
2Vision Eye Centre is an independent provider of eye care services. They have a team of eye doctors that speaks English, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Spanish.
We highly appreciate the clean and simple clinic design. What’s great about it is the selection of eyewear so you can quickly choose.
There are parking slots for their clients, but we still recommend driving to the location just a bit earlier to find a nearby spot. Sad to say, some people use their reserved parking area during busy hours.
Another thing we appreciate is the online booking system. You can choose the service and schedule easily to avoid any wrong appointment issues.
It’s worth mentioning they have an on-site lab with stock lenses. This allows the clinic to give you the glasses on the same day as your eye exam.
But you should know that complex lenses, like high-index or progressive ones, need more time for delivery. But you can ask for a rush order which can take two to three days, at an additional fee.
Despite having a large selection of designer frames, we appreciate that they have various inexpensive ones too. But there’s no online shop for quick browsing.
You’ll be glad to know they have reasonable prices. We like that they also have direct billing to your insurance company.
We want to mention the many praises we’ve heard about their optometrists. We heard there wasn’t any sales pressure when previous clients chose inexpensive frames.
Additionally, the staff and eye doctors at 2Vision were friendly and patient. They have many clients who were pleased with the efficient service.

Pros
- Convenient location
- Elegant clinic design
- Has eco-friendly glasses
- Has emergency services
Cons
- Closed on Mondays and Sundays
- Only one doctor available
Bonnie Doon Optometry is a full-service eye care clinic in Edmonton, offering diagnostic services and management of eye diseases.
What we like best about this clinic is their location inside the Bonnie Doon Shopping Center, with tonnes of shops and restaurants for your convenience. Furthermore, you won’t worry about finding a parking spot due to the massive area.
In addition, we like the clinic’s clean and elegant design. We find it distinctive compared to other eye care clinics in the area with plain interiors.
At first, we found it a bit iffy that they only have one optometrist available – Dr Nadia Clark. But, we were impressed with her credentials and training at the prominent Nottingham University Hospital in England.
But due to having only one optometrist in the clinic, there might be some wait time during certain times.
On the other hand, we found it notable that the clients we talked with praised her patience and professionalism. She took her time explaining and giving eye care tips, which many clients appreciated.
Furthermore, she was great at entertaining kids who needed eye care exams. The parents told us Dr Clark went above and beyond to ensure the consultation didn’t feel rushed.
We should also mention the approachable and friendly staff at Bonnie Doon Optometry. They were helpful to clients who were checking out the eyeglass frames.
Another thing we like is their emergency services for serious concerns regarding your eyes. It’s great that the staff will do their best to arrange an appointment as soon as possible.
Finally, we appreciate the variety of options regarding the frames. Bonnie Doon offers a wide selection of designer frames, including eco-friendly glasses made of recycled metal.

Since 1997, Heritage Vision has provided state-of-the-art eye care services to Edmonton residents. Their optometrist has worked at the clinic since 2002, earning loyal clients with his professional and polite personality.
Further, he was patient and knowledgeable. We heard that he was great at explaining serious eye issues, which eased the clients’ nervousness.
We like that Heritage Vision has a wide variety of services, from simple eye consultations to removing foreign bodies from the eye.
They also have a variety of eyeglasses and contact lenses for you to choose from. However, we noticed some delivery delays, which can be unfortunate for those with urgent needs.
To add, we noted that there have been instances of wrong eyeglasses given to some clients. So, this resulted in more delays due to ordering another one.
On a positive note, we appreciate that the front desk staff gave exceptional service. Some clients mentioned that they were helpful and approachable.
Moreover, they managed to squeeze in last-minute appointments on the same day. We believe their approachability can give clients a reason to hire their services again.
It’s worth noting there are many brands of eyeglasses and contact lenses available. They also have an online store, though you must first sign up for an account, which may be a hassle at first but ultimately offers convenience.
What’s more, we like that you can take advantage of discounts on selected frames. We recommend checking their social media pages for updates.
Now, if you have kids, you’ll be glad that the team at Heritage Vision are great at dealing with young ones who are nervous about getting an eye exam. Past clients told us that the doctor gave a friendly approach to scared kids.
