Itinerary Ideas for a Weekend in Kelowna

Kelowna’s full of life and adventure, whether it be on top of a mountain or at a fine dining restaurant. I wasn’t expecting to fall in love with the city over a glass of Riesling and a lakeside view, but that’s exactly what happened.

With plenty to see and do, I’m willing to bet it won’t take long for you to feel the same. Trust me, I’ve left a piece of my heart here more times than I can count, and I still keep coming back for more.

So if you’ve only got 48 hours, here’s your must-do list for falling in love with Kelowna one activity at a time.

Affectionately called “The Boh”, it is a gem that has been making mornings glorious since 1991. And to be honest, nobody’s arguing. A true Kelowna staple, it’s the go-to spot for a fun, laid-back brunch that’ll leave you full and happy.

My top picks? Their savory Eggs Benedict. It’s rich, buttery, and spot on every time.  My guilty pleasure is pairing it with their peppermint mocha latte. I know, sounds like a weird combo, but trust me, it works. Their Huevos Rancheros is also another crowd favourite, so don’t skip it!

Pro Tip:

Try to schedule your brunch on a weekday to avoid the wait and crowds.

Ah, the views – picture-perfect with rolling vineyards and lake views, especially at sunset, making for incredible photos.

Tantalus Wine has one of the country’s oldest vinifera plantings. Hence, it’s no surprise that they’ve easily become a top Riesling, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir producer. Even then, they’re still a little under the radar, which makes for a more intimate tasting.

Perched above the lake, it’s one of the most romantic spots for stunning views of the Okanagan Lake while sipping their award-winning Rieslings. With fewer crowds, it’s the perfect place to slow down and savour the flavours.

CedarCreek Estate Winery is easily one of Kelowna’s most acclaimed wineries, and with good reason. Set against the dramatic backdrop of Okanagan Lake, they produce certified organic, estate-grown wines that reflect the cool climate of North Okanagan.

The real highlight, though? Home Block Restaurant. Where their vineyard-to-table ethos comes to life, their wine-focused menu is all about pairing perfection. Whether it be their grill-fired mains or vegetable-focused small plates, this is the best way to complement the wines.

The Vibrant Vine

If you think wine’s all serious business? The Vibrant Vine begs to differ. Throwing the rulebook out, you’ll see wine in a whole different light. No, I’m serious. When you arrive, you’ll be handed a pair of 3D glasses to experience Phil Lewis’ bold and immersive wine artworks.

Add live lawn concerts, dance performances, and theatre shows, which add fun to the tasting experience. And the wine? They don’t disappoint either, with award-winners like their sparkling Vibrante and signature “Whoops” white blend.

Summerhill Pyramid Winery

Ever heard of pyramid cellared wine? It isn’t just clever branding; it’s a real thing. At Summerhill Pyramid Winery, wines are aged in a four-story pyramid-shaped cellar. Aligning to the north is believed to create a high-energy and balanced environment, enhancing clarity and vibrancy.

Still skeptical? Try it yourself. The difference is most noticeable in their sparkling and dessert wines as well as their standout Cipes Brut.

Pro Tip:

Leave space for shopping as there’ll definitely be bottles you’ll want to take home.
