Here’s the thing about SELECT Restoration: they’re a one-stop shop for all your water and flood damage needs. They’re almost like an emergency responder if you think about it, for home and commercial properties.

Their services are a lot, which really made us happy. Besides water damage restoration, they also offer basement flood cleanup, catastrophic storm response, mold removal and remediation, and more.

Plus, it’s very convenient that they handle residential and commercial properties. We like that they will come by anytime, whether that’s a burst pipe or heavy rainfall damage.

Their technicians are also trained and certified by the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC), which gives them the expertise to handle small and large water damage problems.

Plus, it’s awesome they received the Toronto Star Readers’ Choice Platinum Award 2023 and the Best of Houzz 2023. Surely, these prove their good quality of service.

It’s just a bummer they don’t offer financing options for those large-scale water damage situations. But this is us being nitpicky because they can still help with your insurance claims.

Lastly, it’s cool they’re available 24/7, allowing them to work on water damage emergencies. Based on what we’ve seen, they’re very responsive, arriving just a few hours after the initial call.

It’s awesome they have everything you need, so you can stick to hiring one provider instead of paying for more than one. Plus, they also work with residential, commercial, and industrial clients, making them really accessible.

We noticed how thorough their service is as well. In one of the homes they worked on, their technicians were very patient and took their time to follow all the necessary steps to make sure no water damaged areas were overlooked.

It helps that they were former insurance adjusters and offer direct billing to insurance, which gives them the knowledge to ensure your claim is processed promptly.

They’re also available 24/7, which is very convenient for emergencies. They even promise to arrive within 60 minutes, which we have to say they’ve been consistent with.

Although there were a few hiccups regarding the quotations, we think those were just miscommunications because, at the end of the service, they didn’t overcharge.

They also have emergency services for water damage, available 24/7. This is awesome because you don’t have to wait long before getting assistance, especially when your house or place of business encounters flooding.

We’re just iffy that they promise to come by within two to three hours, which is pretty long compared to others on our list. But we’ve seen them arrive in 30 minutes, which we learned happens when their schedule’s not packed.

Overall, we still think their response is really fast and, most of the time, won’t take long if they’re not busy.

These guys are also IICRC certified, which shows that they’re trained, educated, and follow the right safety protocols. It also helps with peace of mind during the restoration project.

It’s also nice that they have plenty of services that can help with any flooding issues on your property. Basically, they offer flood and water damage restoration, mold removal, and reconstruction.

The best part is they’ll respond within 45 minutes, which is really fast. Our team witnessed how they showed up right on time (even late at night), which is another thing that impressed us.

However, we noticed that this level of service depends on the location. Other branches that serve the GTA don’t always have a quick response time.

But it’s convenient that they’re an Insurance Approved Vendor, which means they work with all insurance companies in Canada. This provides a smooth sailing insurance claim process, so you won’t have to worry about paperwork.

One of our picks is 5 Star Cleaning, a residential and commercial service for water damage and cleaning services. They started back in 1989, which is an impressive over 30 years in the business, clearly showing their expertise.

Their results have actually garnered recognition. These IIRC-certified technicians have received the HomeStars Best of the Best in 2023 and 2024

These folks offer water damage restoration and specialized cleaning services for rugs, carpets, and upholstery.

While that’s good news if you need to get your stuff cleaned, it’s a letdown that they don’t offer other services that go hand in hand with water damage, unlike others on our list. They do have reconstruction, though.

On a good note, they offer free same-day assessments and direct billing to insurance. Besides that, we like that they also stick within the budget, which our budget-conscious neighbor was happy about.

Plus, we appreciate their one-time fees. It’s even incredible how transparent they were about the pricing. 

One of their standout features is their commitment to using eco-friendly alternatives, which we approve of because this is an excellent approach to sustainability.

Finally, it’s worth noting that they have a 1-hour response time in the GTA. And based on what we saw, they actually arrived within this promised time frame.
