Sommet Edelweiss is a 30-minute drive from Ottawa, and we’ll be the first to tell you that it’s well worth the trip! For starters, it offers more than just snow tubing, as it’s also a great snowboarding and skiing spot, consisting of multiple steep lanes.
It doesn’t disappoint in the snow tubing department either, as it features some kid-friendly lanes where they can have fun racing down a snow-blanketed slope. We also think that the lengths of these lanes are perfect, offering a quick but thrilling slide for snow tubing.
We also recommend this place because it doesn’t fall short of facilities, from changing rooms to comfort rooms, lockers, and a ski lift to make climbing much easier. They also offer more than ample tubes, but we still recommend booking your trip in advance!
Pro tip:
If you want to start your kids young or you want to learn skiing yourself, we recommend checking out Sommet’s snow school! They offer weekly lessons or tailor-fit programs that will help you and your young ones master the slopes!

Domaine de l’Ange-Gardien is a charming sugar shack that doubles as one of the most sought-after snow-tubing spots near Ottawa. Although we’re here to talk about it being the latter, we recommend not missing out on its maple-based products!
You won’t be disappointed with their snow tubing tracks as well! They’re not the largest, but are enough to hold multiple guests at a time—you can even race with your friends to see who can slide down the fastest since there are multiple lanes available.
The real highlight of snow tubing here is the beautiful surrounding landscape of snow-covered trees. If spending too much time in the snow isn’t for you, however, you can cosy up in the wooden lodge that houses their cafeteria-style cafe.
Pro tip:
Book your day passes through their official website as opposed to walking in to save more money and guarantee your slots. Furthermore, you can also book your visit from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM to enjoy even cheaper rates.

Parc des Montagnes Noires de Ripon is an underrated spot that deserves more recognition, mainly because of its beautiful views. There’s even an observation deck where you can admire the snow-covered trees and the paper-white slopes!
However, we mainly love it for its snow tubing track because of its more than ample space. It consists of three different tubing runs, which don’t look like much at first but will surprise you with how much speed it will add in a snap.
Aside from snow tubing, you can also enjoy skiing, snowshoeing, and tobogganing. If you’re looking for a more formidable challenge, however, you can try conquering the fat bike trail, which spans 13 kilometres and consists of both off-trail and groomed pathways.
Pro tip:
If you’re planning to hike, we recommend avoiding winter to make the terrain less slippery. Plus, the path will be much more straightforward!
