Pros
- Offers estate and corporate law services
- Provides three types of real estate services
- Firm has community initiatives
- Recognized by trusted institutions
- Has two offices in the city
- Can provide service in English, Cantonese, Punjabi, and Hindi
Cons
- Lawyer does not provide commercial real estate legal service
Peter Mason is a real estate lawyer that has been practicing since 2017. On top of his years of experience, his legal services, which include purchasing, construction agreements, and managing residential real estate disputes, make him a solid choice.
But, unlike other lawyers, Mason is unavailable for commercial real estate legal services, which we think is a letdown. Still, clients with issues in property management may find his expertise in estate and corporate law handy.
Even so, it’s good to know that many clients are satisfied with Mason’s legal services and client treatment. In fact, many of his patrons whom we talked to liked how he and his team were communicative, patient, and responsive to their concerns.
Moving forward, we think Mason’s law firm has trustworthy credentials. Specifically, it has over a decade of experience, recognition from trusted groups (such as an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau), and community initiatives.
Also, the firm’s two offices in the city add much convenience for clients. Aside from that, these branches are near bus stations and have serviceable parking areas–ideal for either public or private transportation!
Lastly, we think clients would feel more at ease and comfortable knowing that Mason’s law firm can also service clients in English, Punjabi, Cantonese, and Hindi.

Pros
- Practicing since 1993
- Also offers four types of legal services
- Worked as a business law instructor
- Operating since 1998
Cons
- Several incidents of not responding to clients
In our books, a lawyer with decades of experience can provide services that stand the test of time. And with training dating back to 1993, Jerry D. Kiriak is one of the best we can recommend for your real estate needs.
Besides that, Kiriak taught business law at MacEwan University for over ten years. We think his extensive knowledge in the legal and business sphere is a great asset regardless of the scale of your real estate venture.
Moreover, his expertise in other areas of law, namely family, personal injury, and estate law, can be advantageous for clients. For instance, his background in family law could be handy for clients who want to divide their real estate property due to divorce.
Meanwhile, Kiriak has been a solo practitioner since 1998. We think this aspect is worth mentioning because his ability to render legal services for two decades is a telltale that they consistently deliver and meet their client’s expectations.
But, we are slightly disappointed that the firm has a small parking area. Regardless, we’re glad it’s conveniently located near a bus station–good news for transit users!
Lastly, we want to share that Kiriak’s service quality has a mixed reception. While we think it’s good that many liked their helpful and professional attitude, it’s a letdown that it has several cases of communication issues, mostly related to late responses.
3. Stan Galbraith – Galbraith Law

Pros
- In practice since 1983
- Provides six types of real estate legal services
- Operating since 1987
Cons
- Has a busy schedule
With a legal practice dating back to 1983, Stan Galbraith is one of the most seasoned real estate lawyers in the city. And for us, expertise stems from experience–and there’s no doubt he has plenty of it.
Aside from his professional experience, his wide range of real estate services, including purchasing, sale, permit management, reports, insurance, disclosures, and utilities, is a solid asset.
In addition to real estate law, Galbraith has a business and estates law background. Although his field of expertise is fewer than others, these branches often go side by side, so his grasp of these areas would be beneficial for clients.
Also, it’s worth mentioning that his law firm, Galbraith Law, has been around since 1987. Its decades of operation are a telltale sign of consistent and quality legal service that we think everyone deserves.
However, it is worth mentioning that since Galbraith is the senior lawyer, thus the most sought-after lawyer in his firm, his schedule is usually jam-packed–which, as a whole, is a slight letdown.
Nevertheless, if you manage to work with him, we have good news: many clients like his honest yet down-to-earth attitude. This is a reassuring attribute because communication would be smoother for everyone involved.
Lastly, aside from being near bus stops and having a spacious parking area, its block has smooth traffic flow on a daily basis, which is good news for clients whose only available time to visit is during rush hour.

Pros
- Also specializes in corporate and commercial law
- Fluent in Korean
- Operating since 1988
- Offers four legal services
Cons
- Has relatively fewer years of experience
- No public transportation in the vicinity
If a versatile lawyer is what you prefer, then Derrick Hwang might be the right pick for you. Aside from corporate, commercial, and estate law, he is an expert in residential and commercial real estate law; the latter would be an asset for business owners.
Aside from that, Hwang is also an experienced attorney. Although he has relatively fewer years of experience since he only started in 2011, for us, his decade of knowledge is a solid indicator of skillfulness and reliability.
Also, Hwang is fluent in Korean, which is helpful for people comfortable communicating in the said language. On a similar note, he has a wide connection with the Koreans in the city, an asset for clients whose real estate projects are related to them.
With that said, it is unsurprising that Hwang has met his client’s expectations. Most of them stated that his insightful and professional yet friendly demeanour is a big part of why they find his real estate legal services satisfactory.
Moving on, Hwang is a partner at the Bosecke Law LLP, a firm that has been around since 1988. Holding such a position in an established company means he is a trustworthy lawyer.
Unfortunately, visiting the firm using public transportation would be a challenge because the nearest bus stop in its area is ten minutes away. On the flip side, parking would be stress-free because its parking area has ample space, so recommend driving there.
5. Shounak Mehta – Juriscorp Law Barristers & Solicitors

Pros
- Provides real estate and corporate law services
- Has an extensive business association network
- Provides ten types of legal services
- Fluent in English, Hindi, and Gujarati
Cons
- Has relatively fewer years of experience
- Has a relatively young law firm
Shounak Mehta is an Edmontonian lawyer with a vast business group network. For us, his edge lies in his connections with home builders and mortgage loan associations, which would make dealings faster and less budget-consuming.
We must mention that Mehta was called to the Alberta Bar in 2014. Although he’s relatively new compared to the others on this list, we find it commendable that he has extensive law experience in India since 2007.
Furthermore, he has appearances in various court levels in Canada, making him a lawyer with rich experience and skill set!
It’s also a relief to know that in a city with a diverse community like Edmonton, a lawyer like Mehta is fluent in many languages. He can speak Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Hindi, and English – impressive, right?
Meanwhile, Mehta is the principal lawyer of Juriscorp Law, a company that started operating in 2016. Despite being a relatively new law firm, its ten types of legal service deserve merit since disputes in real estate can intertwine with other areas of law.
Moreover, we are glad to share that since Juriscorp is located at the Riviera Plaza, it has a spacious parking area and nearby amenities. On top of that, it is near two bus stations, which is good news if you are using transit.
Lastly, we’re glad to find that his clients like his professional, attentive, yet friendly approach. For us, these are noteworthy characteristics because they ensure a more productive exchange between the attorney and his customers.
