Pros

  • Wide service area
  • Offers interior design services
  • Provides renovation services
  • Provides digital marketing service
  • Has 24/7 guest services

Cons

  • Doesn’t focus on other advertising platforms
  • Doesn’t specialize in short-term rentals

S&T Properties has a humble beginning that started in 2015 when the owners, Svet and Tina Pargov, listed their Calgary home on Airbnb. Then, they decided to assist other property owners and expand their services.

Over the years, their growth led to a wide service area, including Canmore, Dead Man’s Flats, Kicking Horse, and of course, Whistler. Pretty impressive, huh? They now have over 120 listings in Canada, specializing in vacation rentals!

One of their most impressive aspects is they offer a wide range of services, easing the burden for property owners. They will manage everything from hospitality to investment assistance.

We appreciate their digital marketing service, which includes SEO to maintain (and improve!) your property’s online footprint. This can greatly help guests find your property in the mountains.

Additionally, they provide professional interior and exterior photo sessions for your property. It even includes styling and staging with their onsite interior decorator, a perfect way to entice guests, eh?

We want to highlight that S&T Properties offers to decorate all unfurnished units and only lists furnished ones. They can also organize the renovations, should the units need it—pretty convenient!

Oh, and one of our favourites is the 24/7 guest service. We were impressed with their onsite highly trained staff, ready to answer all guest queries day and night!

But it’s good to know that S&T Properties primarily advertises on Airbnb, which may not be ideal for property owners who want to use other platforms. They also don’t specialize in short-term rental agreements, unfortunately.

Pros

  • Uses Google’s pay-per-click advertising
  • Provides professional cleaning and linen services
  • Provides propane tank for BBQs
  • Available for after-hour emergencies

Cons

  • No 24/7 guest services available
  • Some reports of property information discrepancies

Blackcomb Peaks Accommodations is a locally-based company that lists accommodations in Whistler and well… Blackcomb! They manage homes, townhomes, and condominiums for vacations in the mountains.

We commend their marketing strategy, and they have optimized their website for top search results. In fact, they use Google’s pay-per-click advertising, which displays ads in search results to increase traffic.

Another aspect we like is they offer various services with the property owner’s convenience in mind. Moreover, they regularly schedule professional cleaning and linen services and have an in-house maintenance staff.

In addition to that, they provide carpet cleaning and deep cleaning for a hygienic stay! We were also impressed that they provide linens, toiletries, and kitchenware—no need to worry about minor things!

Let’s not forget that Blackcomb Peaks Accommodations also provide painting and renovation services to keep units in tip-top shape. We also like that they have a propane tank service for BBQs for the perfect afternoon for groups!

However, we noticed they don’t have 24/7 guest services. Nevertheless, they do have staff available during after-hours for emergencies.

But it was disappointing to discover discrepancies in the property information, specifically missing amenities that were supposed to be included in the units.

Pros

  • Ideal for shared ownership
  • Offers a rental program
  • No listing fees
  • Each unit has a fireplace and a fully stocked kitchen

Cons

  • Doesn’t manage standalone houses
  • Doesn’t manage fully-owned properties

Whiski Jack Resorts has been around since 1979, which is a pretty impressive feat! What was once a small operation has now expanded to include over 90 units across seven property locations.

They specialize in long-term yearly leases for fraction and shared ownership of condos and townhomes. Unfortunately, they do not offer rental services for standalone houses and don’t handle the management of fully-owned properties.

Each unit has a full kitchen and a gas fireplace—perfect for a cozy night in for guests. More amenities we appreciate are fresh linens and towels, and some properties will have heated pools, hot tubs, and fitness facilities—it’s like staying at a hotel!

Conveniently, the Whiski Jack team will work with the Homeowners Association (HOA) regarding your rental property—no more headaches!

Additionally, they have a rental program that will help property owners cover maintenance fees. How? This program ensures a full rental week to maximize the property’s earning potential. Cha-ching!

Moreover, you can automatically submit your listing annually without any fees, regardless of whether or not the unit is rented. Another advantage as the owner, you can utilize a portion of the week if only part of it is rented.

Pros

  • Offers annual and seasonal leases
  • Manages a wide range of property types
  • All payments go through a regulated trust account

Cons

  • No short-term leases available
  • No 24/7 guest services

Mountain Country Property Management opened its doors in 2001, offering services in Whistler, Pemberton, and Squamish. They specialize in assisting property owners who live outside their service areas or cannot manage their units.

Their focus is on long-term rentals, offering two lease options: annual and seasonal. Their seasonal lease is for four to six months in winter and summer—great for long vacations, eh?

Unfortunately, that means they don’t take on short-term rentals. For short vacation homes, it’s a good idea to look elsewhere—we have others on this list!

On the bright side, they manage several kinds of properties: condos, townhouses, and single-family homes. Besides those, they also cater to multi-unit residences and corporate employee accommodation.

A great feature is that their staff works in an office in Whistler’s Function Junction near their properties. We were also glad they have a fully equipped team of maintenance personnel and an in-house accounting team.

It’s worth mentioning that all rents and deposits go through regulated trust accounts. For us, it’s a safe and secure process, ensuring that every payment is handled properly.

A standout service is their tenant screening, including open houses, property documentation, lease preparation, and maintenance coordination. We like how convenient this is for property owners—just hand in the keys and wait for payments!

We did find a minor issue, though. It would greatly benefit tenants to have a 24/7 guest service, considering their staff all work near the property listings.

Pros

  • Provides continuous monitoring of properties
  • Hands-on concierge service
  • Provides an owner portal
  • Manages pet-friendly units

Cons

  • Not ideal for long-term stays
  • No 24/7 guest services available

Outpost, a boutique property management founded in 2018, can still be considered a toddler in this industry. Over the years, they have grown and now manage condos, townhomes, and chalets—including pet-friendly units!

One service that stands out to us is their continuous monitoring of properties. They conduct weekly or bi-weekly inspections of both the interior and exterior but can do additional visits upon request.

Additionally, their concierge is pretty helpful. They can arrange for a private chef, transportation, ski rentals, and grocery delivery—this adds an exclusive service so guests may lease your property again!

While they may not have 24/7 guest services, they do offer emergency response services round the clock. We also appreciate their attention to detail as they prepare a written report for the property owner and insurance for every emergency.

A key service we like is they have an owner portal, which serves as a means of contact for requests. It’s quick and easy; no more back-and-forth emails!

Furthermore, property owners can relax as Outpost will create a full profile of their home. These units can be booked directly through the website, but we were glad they are also available on other platforms for better online traffic.

One slight drawback is that they are limited to short-term stays. Although it is possible to stay for a few months, the option for extended rentals is not available, unlike other property management companies in Whistler.
