Pros
- Offers online consultations and video therapy
- Makes detailed and throughout assessments
- Has an online booking system
- Accepts qualified insurance plans
Cons
- Services are limited to active-based therapy
Prairie Trail Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic Winnipeg provides several treatment and rehabilitation programs to help regain strength and function and lessen discomfort.
From our research, we found that one of the best on their team is Susanne Robson, BMR-PT. Notably, she has worked with patients like the elderly, children, and high-level and professional athletes.
We’re impressed with Susanne’s approach to every patient, and her ability in making thorough and detailed assessments. She comes prepared to every appointment equipped with new recommendations or exercises when needed — best for fast recovery.
It’s also worth mentioning that the clinic offers online consultations and video therapy, which Susanne utilizes for her treatment plans or programs. Conveniently, you can continue your treatment at home by following the uploaded video instructions.
We also noted multiple patient accounts that stated how the sessions were effective — some were instantaneous. You’ll be able to wake up the next morning feeling so much better, less pain.
However, we noticed that their services are limited to active-based therapy and may not be suitable if you come in for neurological or cardiothoracic concerns.
As for their fees, we’re happy to know how reasonable it is, and you can use your insurance to cover most of your sessions.
Lastly, Prairie Trail has an online booking system where you can choose a physiotherapist and available time slot — quick and easy, eh?

Pros
- Offers group and individual exercise plans
- Offers neurological rehabilitation
- Has online video therapy sessions and free webinars
- Has an online booking system
- Empathetic and knowledgeable physiotherapist
- Accommodating staff
- Accepts insurance and direct billing
Cons
- Some reports of cancellations
Kenaston Common Physiotherapy is one of the few physiotherapy clinics in Winnipeg that offers neurological rehabilitation. In our books, it’s a competitive edge since most only offer musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
Amongst their team of physiotherapists, we think that Hillary Prescott, MPT is one of the best because of her empathetic and informative approach. We noticed how well she works with her patients and makes them feel better as each session progresses.
To give you an example, Hilary helped a patient’s runner’s knee by planning a series of exercises, and in less than two months, the patient got to run pain-free!
We also like that they offer both individual and group exercise plans, which is beneficial for those who would rather do the sessions with other people.
But, as a heads up, we noted some incidences of short-notice cancellations from the clinic’s side, thus, disrupting the patient’s schedule and progress.
On a positive note, we think it’s a great idea to maximize their online therapy sessions and free webinars to continue your treatment in the comfort of your home.
Lastly, we appreciate that Kenaston Common Physiotherapy has a convenient booking system and accepts direct insurance billing to help you avoid out-of-pocket expenses.
5. Thanh Ong, BMR-PT – Bridgwater Physiotherapy

Pros
- Accepts direct insurance billing
- Utilizes several electrical modalities
- Creates dynamic and engaging programs
- Excellent with muscle or sports therapy
Cons
- Has a small team
- No video resources on their website
At the helm of Bridgwater Physiotherapy is Thanh Ong (BMRPT), a Senior Physiotherapist with invaluable experience treating ACL patients, post-operative shoulder patients and sports injuries.
His expertise in this field was also rooted in his past services in several hospitals providing inpatient and outpatient care.
That said, many of his patients have mentioned the effectiveness of his care and programs, seeing progress in a short period.
To give you an idea, a patient came to Than due to a workplace injury involving his shoulder and was relieved of pain after six visits.
We are impressed with his consistent performance, even for long-term treatments. For instance, Than has provided a two-year physiotherapy treatment for a patient with a torn rotator and a blown ACL/MCL and meniscus.
Another thing we like about Bridgwater is that they use several electrical modalities to help you with your sessions. Some of these include Interferential Current (IFC), Ultrasound, TENS Machines, and more.
However, we are a bit iffy that they have a small team of physiotherapists, which limits them from accepting more patients at once.
Nonetheless, Bridgwater Physiotherapy is a solid choice, especially for those with muscle or sports injuries that require short or long-term rehabilitation.
6. Myles Willis, BMR-PT – Complete Physiotherapy in North Kildonan
Services: Physiotherapy, cardio, neurological, massage and athletic therapy, personal training, etc

Pros
- Has an online booking system
- Friendly and highly-skilled physiotherapists
- Covers most types of physiotherapy
- Provides paper and custom website link
Cons
- Some reports of appointment cancellations
- Has a small team of assistants
- Can improve insurance assistance
What we like the most about Complete Physiotherapy is that they provide solutions for the main types of physiotherapy — musculoskeletal, cardio, and neurological.
This is possible thanks to their large team of five physiotherapists, two massage therapists, and one athletic therapist.
On the flip side, we learned they lack assistants for some physiotherapists, which would have allowed for more efficient sessions.
Among the physiotherapists, Myles Willis, BMR-PT, is one of our top picks because of his excellent track record with previous patients. We want to highlight his expertise in Acupuncture, Vestibular and Concussion Rehabilitation.
In particular, a patient’s family was impressed with Myles’ work with a concussion case; thus, they now go to Complete Physiotherapy for other related concerns — results are the best advertisement.
We also want to highlight their initiative to provide paper and custom website links with detailed explanations and videos for all take-home exercises and stretches you need.
However, we think they can improve on relaying any cancellations at least two days before the appointment. Some patients complained about walking in for nothing because they weren’t informed beforehand.
Regardless, we are happy that Complete Physiotherapy is a one-stop shop for most of your musculoskeletal, cardio, and neurological physiotherapy concerns.

Pros
- Wide range of healthcare services
- Highly Experienced Team Member
- Comprehensive Services
Cons
- Closed on Sundays
Innovative Therapy Solutions, located at their McPhillips branch, offers a wide range of healthcare services, with an emphasis on physiotherapy.
One of the standout features of Innovative Therapy Solutions is Shelley Umali, a highly qualified and experienced physiotherapist.
Shelley’s credentials are impressive, with a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Manitoba, bolstered by her certification in Acupuncture obtained in 2009.
We think that what truly sets her apart is her 16 years of experience in the field, which speaks to her dedication and competence.
Shelley has actively pursued continuous education, enriching her skill set with numerous post-graduate courses related to musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. This includes specialized training in areas such as running courses, post-operative rehabilitation for shoulder, knee, hip, and ACL injuries, as well as techniques like taping, dry needling, and cupping.
We think that her commitment to ongoing learning ensures that she stays at the forefront of physiotherapy techniques and treatment options, and we’re so impressed with this.
Shelley’s treatment approach is comprehensive, involving manual therapy, soft tissue manipulation, individualized therapeutic exercises, and pain modulation techniques.
This holistic approach enables her to tailor her services to meet each client’s unique needs. Her focus extends beyond mere treatment – she aims to build strong client-therapist relationships, emphasizing function and strength, overall well-being, and personal accountability.
We like that the clinic offers a broad spectrum of physiotherapy techniques, ensuring that clients receive personalized care.
We also like that the clinic has the ability to directly bill various insurance providers which simplifies the process for clients seeking physiotherapy services.
