With a career dating back to 2003, Alistair Hopper of Flex Fitness is one of the most experienced coaches you can have. We think his over two decades of experience brings confidence that his coaching is proven and tested over time.
Also, Hopper boasts an impressive history of training clients from all walks of life, from young enthusiasts to seasoned athletes and even individuals with disabilities. His ability to cater to different clients speaks volumes about his adaptability and expertise.
Whether it’s in-gym, in-house, or virtual sessions, we’re glad that Hoper accommodates what suits your lifestyle best. This level of flexibility makes it clear that Alistair understands the demands of modern life and strives to make fitness accessible to everyone.
Meanwhile, Hopper specializes in four training areas, including Parkinson’s Disease Recovery Training. His focus on helping individuals with Parkinson’s reclaim their physicality and improve their quality of life is nothing but impressive.
Beyond his credentials, Hopper’s friendly demeanour, motivational spirit, and extensive knowledge make each session not just a workout but an experience. Whatever you’re looking for, we think his personalized approach will keep you engaged in your fitness journey.
One notable advantage of training at Flex Fitness is the gym’s 24/7 availability. For those juggling busy schedules, this means no more fretting about finding the perfect time to squeeze in a workout!
Also, you’d have no parking blues with Flex Fitness’s parking space. And if you’re using public transportation, the gym is conveniently located near several bus stops!
However, it’s worth noting that the gym’s location is on bustling Sargeant Ave. We found that this road usually has heavy traffic on weekdays, which might translate to a bit of road noise during peak hours.
2. Blaine Podaima – Podaima Performance

|Range of Services||5/5|
Looking to supercharge your fitness journey? Look no further than Blaine Podaima, the powerhouse behind Podaima Performance.
From our research, we think that one of the highlights of working with Podaima is his private gym. We’re glad he offers a workout studio that ensures an exclusive and distraction-free workout environment so clients can focus on their gains.
With a remarkable tenure spanning over two decades, Podaima is no stranger to the fitness world. We think his experience since 2000 places confidence in his clients that they will get actual results with his training regimen.
That said, we’re pretty sure that what sets Podaima apart is his versatility as a trainer. From weight loss, toning, strength and conditioning, he also offers golf biomechanics and exercise coaching, opening up a world of possibilities for clients seeking specialized training services.
Also, most of Podaima’s clients are busy professionals in their 40’s. It’s good news for middle-aged Winnipeggers struggling to find a compatible personal trainer for their hectic schedule and lifestyle!
Unfortunately, we think choosing Podaima over others has a few minor trade-offs. The gym takes a siesta from noon to the afternoon on weekdays and is off on Sundays, which might require some scheduling finessing.
Another thing we noticed is that adaptability seems to be at the heart of Podaima’s approach. His virtual training allows you to stay on track no matter where life takes you, bringing his expertise right to the convenience of your home.
For his approach, most of Podaima’s clients described him as a perfect blend of passion and encouragement. In our books, it’s a relief that he’s not just a trainer; he’s a cheerleader for your achievements, pushing you to exceed your limits.
Any hurdles to reaching Podaima’s Performance are out of the window. With ample parking space and the convenience of being near multiple bus stops, going to your destination has never been easier.
3. Kathryn Dzikowicz – Blue Sky Fitness Studio

|Range of Services||4/5|
Kathryn Dzikowicz of Blue Sky Fitness is one of Winnipeg’s beacons of fitness expertise. Backed with a journey that began in 1994, we have no doubt her wealth of knowledge is the ultimate boon for anyone looking to transform their lifestyle.
Meanwhile, Dzikowicz specializes in seniors and group fitness training. We’re glad Winnipeggers can find a supportive community tailored to their unique needs because of a personal trainer with expertise like her.
There would also be no need to juggle a packed schedule with Dzikowicz. The reason is she’s available on Saturdays and Sundays, making your weekend more exciting!
It’s also worth noting that Blue Sky Fitness Studio’s location is optimal for public and private transportation. Their gym’s proximity to bus stops and ample parking space deserves a plus since it makes travelling to the gym a hassle-free experience.
And according to her trainees, Dzikowicz’s approach is supportive and encouraging. It’s reassuring to know that she is a coach and a figure you can rely on at every step of your fitness journey.
While Dzikowicz’s services are fantastic, it’s important to note that strength training isn’t in her repertoire. It’s the most popular workout for a reason, but fear not—her other specialties more than makeup for it.
Virtual training might not be available, and that’s completely understandable, especially when catering to a senior clientele. Based on our observation, the in-person experience Dzikowicz provides is a treasure.

Also, it’s worth noting that Padua offers both onsite and virtual training options. We’re glad it empowers clients since it helps them choose the mode that suits their lifestyle best.

5. JR Clemente – The Wellness Institute

Operating Hours: Mondays to Fridays, 5:00 AM – 11:00 PM, Saturdays to Sundays, 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM
|Range of Services||5/5|
JR Clemente of The Wellness Institute is one of the personal trainers in Winnipeg with a wide array of specialties. Among the four areas of training he offers, the sport-specific training is the most notable, promising a dynamic fitness journey!
Clemente’s got them in spades when it comes to credentials. Armed with a BSc in Kinesiology, CSEP-CPT, and PN1, his rock-solid knowledge base ensures you’re in expert hands.
But Clemente is relatively new in personal training compared to others since he only started in 2018. While years of experience have its perks, his fresh approach might be exactly what your fitness routine needs.
We’re also glad to share that The Wellness Institute, where Clemente works, is open on weekends. It’s a convenient amenity for clients with no room for weekday training sessions.
That said, we’re also glad to discover that trainees of Clemente remarked on him as a friendly and supportive mentor. It adds an extra dose of motivation and fun to your workout sessions.
Similarly, since the gym is inside the Seven Oaks General Hospital, it offers proximity to bus stops and ample parking space. We like its strategic location because it removes any of your travel worries.
However, it’s a letdown to know that there are a few complaints about overcrowding in the gym and other training facilities. Although this is not a huge issue, we’re hoping they would improve this part for the convenience of their customers.
Lastly, Clemente doesn’t provide virtual training. We think it’s worth sharing since some clients may prefer to train in the comfort of their homes.
