Pros
- Rates are easily accessible
- Lower rates for repeat services
- Accepts credit and debit card
Cons
- Young notary service
- Reports on no-shows despite appointment confirmation
For more than 3 years now, Bonavista Notary Public has been providing services across South Calgary.
What we liked about this notary firm is that they provide their rates on their notarization service. They charge $39 for first-time notarization, and it gets cheaper when you get them again.
But of course, there could be additional fees if you have a special request, such as the completion of notarian forms and preparation of the documents.
Interested clients should book an appointment first. However, do take note that they require their clients to accomplish a pre-appointment checklist.
While this might seem like an added inconvenience on the client’s part, we think it actually helps them prepare better for their appointment.
They also accept debit and credit card modes of payment, which offers great flexibility for clients.
Beyond that, they also provide service from Monday to Sunday, even beyond working hours. We like it as clients will be able to contact them and request a service.
We were just a bit bummed when we heard that some clients experienced no-shows at their appointments, despite having their bookings confirmed. If there is a valid reason for this, we wish that the firm would notify the clients in advance to save them a trip.

Pros
- First to offer remote notarization
- Provides free custom legal document templates
Cons
- Difficult to contact
- Pricier notary services
What is noteworthy about Notary Pro is that they are the first notary to offer online remote notarization in the whole of Canada.
Their digital system enables customers to upload their documents, which can be signed and notarized in an instant. Talk about convenience!
We were just a bit concerned about their online service does not include a certified true copy, which is an essential document. Should this be something that you need, you can opt for their on-site services, which they also provide.
It’s also worth mentioning that they provide free custom legal document templates such as affidavit of name change and affidavit of divorce, which makes it easier for clients to prepare. It saves them time from looking up templates on the Internet – which most do.
As for their pricing, we were not pleased to learn that their rates are generally higher than most Apart from that, they additionally charge their clients $25.95 each for signatures and seals.
Some clients also told us that they can be difficult to contact, which can be a bit of a bummer. We hope that they can improve their communication for the sake of clients who need to get their documents notarized urgently.

Pros
- More than 10 years of experience
- Mobile notary
- Same-day notary service
Cons
- Expensive
- Lots of add-on charges for special cases
- Reports on needing to improve customer service
Notary2u has been providing notary services in Calgary and nearby areas for more than 10 years now.
It’s worth noting that they have a mobile notary, which allows you to process your legal documents from the comfort of home. This will come in handy for clients who don’t live anywhere near a public notary, or those with mobility challenges.
Of course, this added convenience entails additional charges for travel, which we think is completely justified.
They also have same-day notary service, which is especially great for clients who need the documents urgently.
However, do take note that there is an additional fee of $25-$45 if you call them after office hours. Also, they do charge premium for holiday, rush, or emergency services – so come prepared to pay extra.
Talking about fees, we’re not so pleased to know that their services are pricier than other notary firms. Their rates for notarization of documents start at $69.
Not just that, they also charge their clients an additional $2 if they are more than 10 minutes late for the agreed appointment time.
That said, we like that they accept all payment methods, whether it be cash, cards, or e-payments.
We were just a tad disappointed to hear some reports that, aside from being pricier, some of their staff are apparently rude and keep ending calls. We wish that management would take urgent action to improve this aspect of customer service.

Pros
- More than 10 years of experience
- Provides same-day services
Cons
- Rates are a bit higher than their counterparts
- Closed during weekends
With more than 10 years of experience as a notary, Calgary Mobile Notary Public services not just Calgary, but also nearby areas.
While they usually offer mobile notary services, this has been temporarily discontinued. For now, they offer on-site services.
We were pleased to know that they have same-day service. No need to book any appointments online – you can just head over to their office and have your documents processed.
To add even more convenience to the experience, they accept card payments such as Visa, Mastercard, and Interac.
In connection to their rates, we unfortunately learned that they charge a bit higher than their counterparts. Their notary public service is $49 for 1 document, with additional charges ofl $10 for each additional document.
They also provide a free parking area for clients visiting their in-office notary service, which is a thoughtful gesture.
Aside from that, they also have free travel consent letter templates for clients’ guidance.
We do note that their business hours are more limited than the other entries on this list. We would recommend going at the beginning of the day to ensure that you can get all your paperwork done.

Pros
- More than 7 years of experience as a notary public
- Flat rates
- Reasonably-priced
Cons
- Slow to respond to e-mail enquiries
- Cash and e-payments only
With more than 7 years of experience, Affordable Notary Public Services prides itself on reasonably-priced services.
We like that they provide flat rates for their service. Their notary public rate is set at $24.94, which is way more affordable than their counterparts’ starting rates of $40.
However, do take note that for each notarized document, there is a $5 charge – this may add up if you’re processing several documents at a time.
Speaking of their fees, do take note that they only accept cash and e-payments.
Other than notarizing documents, they also have help out with land title documents, certifications, affidavits / statutory declarations, and more. If you’re needing to process different kinds of legal paperwork, this is a one-stop shop for you.
We’re happy to hear from clients the service quality remains impressive while keeping their prices affordable.
We’re glad that they open 6 days a week, which means that there is the option to pop in on a weekend if you’re jam-packed with work.
Though you can email them for enquiries, but don’t expect them to respond to you promptly. We suggest booking an appointment online or calling them directly.
