Michelle Little Photography offers it all: newborn, maternity, and family. Her shoots are available in-studio, at home, or outdoors. The freedom to choose your venue is very convenient, since you can pick where you feel most at ease.

Studio photography in Montreal is exclusively held at Belair Suites, which is cool since it comes with three rooms that are already set up. Some outdoor shoots are only available in Westmount, unfortunately, but only for short sessions.

The spotlight goes to custom wardrobe styling, so you’ll know where and what to buy for your wardrobe. And no, this isn’t an extra service—unless you want the stylist to be on-site, then that’ll require a fee.

We also like the mini sessions for those quick and budget-friendly photographs. However, these are limited, since Little will only announce specific dates for these.

Overall, she’s an excellent option, especially if you count her professionalism. From what we’ve seen, she can help the kids look and smile in front of the camera.

What we love about Lili Sweet Photography is her focus on fine art photography, mostly for maternity and newborn, as it brings an artistic vision to every image. But she doesn’t stop there, since she also works with families.

All photoshoots are held at her home-based studio, which is nice when Canada’s weather goes crazy, except for weekends. Unfortunately, that limits her service since her outdoor photography is a pricey add-on.

Still, Sweet’s studio is equipped with all sorts of props and clothing for motherhood and family photography sessions. You can still expect creativity in these without looking commercial.

She manages to capture genuine moments, since no image looks or feels forced, even when clients include grumpy babies. That wasn’t surprising, given her over two decades of experience in photography.

Lastly, the prices are affordable. She offers a variety of packages for every budget, including a convenient printing service so you don’t have to book elsewhere.

Shooting genuine photos is why we like Carolina Hanna Photography. She specialises in unposed, real-life moments—the kind that capture the essence of family and motherhood.

Her approach takes centre stage, as she doesn’t care about kids being too high-energy. From the photos we’ve seen, she knows how to capture real emotions using natural lighting.

The limitation, however, is that Hanna only does in-home sessions. That’s a bummer, but we get it, since it helps capture daily life, and you won’t be stressing too much about venues.

She gets another thumbs up for being an inclusive space because she works with all identities and cultures. Her clients praised her for making them feel comfortable in front of a camera, especially the ones who weren’t used to being photographed.

But her prices aren’t the most affordable (expect over a thousand), and weekends are more expensive with added rates. Then again, there’s a payment plan and the inclusions are ace, since you get 60+ images and styling guidance.

How are the sessions? Comfortable. Judging by our observations, she has the right skills to make clients feel at ease, eliminating awkward smiles and giving real, natural reactions.

There are different kinds of packages for motherhood and family photoshoots, which is awesome because these come in various prices for every budget. 

Mini sessions are also available for quick snaps, but only during weekdays at the studio. Another hiccup? Oelschlaeger’s schedule is closed on weekends.

But overall, her prices are reasonable compared to others in the area. If you have extra budget, there are plenty of add-ons, such as hair, makeup, and framed prints.
