Pros

  • Lawyer worked as a crown prosecutor
  • Provides criminal defence services
  • Handles seven types of personal injury cases
  • Located near a train station and a bus stop

Cons

  • Only has a roadside parking area
  • Hoes not have a 24/7 customer line

Practising for over two decades, Robert Sera is one of the most experienced malpractice lawyers in Edmonton. He started his practice after he got his degree from the University of Alberta, Faculty of Law, in 2002.

We also regard him as an attorney with a rich legal background. We were amazed that before returning to private practice as a malpractice lawyer, he served as a Crown Prosecutor and worked in Specialized Prosecution.

Aside from his legal expertise, Sera has been well-regarded by his clients because of his approach toward them. We think it is notable that most of the positive remarks are about his responsiveness and consistent guidance with them throughout their case.

He works at the Moustarah & Company, a law firm established in 2007. Sera and his colleague specialize in personal injury cases, which we like because they can help you whether your case involves vehicular accidents, medical malpractice, or the like.

It is also worth mentioning that Moustarah & Company also provides legal services for criminal defence cases.

And if you are planning to visit Sera, we’re glad to share that his office is less than five minutes walk from train and bus stations. Also, the traffic around the area is relatively light throughout the day–a win-win situation for any mode of transportation you pick.

Unfortunately, the parking area is small and limited during busy hours since it only has shared roadside parking. Also, it is unfortunate that, unlike other firms, it does not have a 24/7 customer line.

Pros

  • Lawyer specializes in injury and occupational liability cases
  • Operating since 1993
  • Handles all types of malpractice cases
  • Available 24/7
  • Details about case results are on the website
  • Has community initiatives

Cons

  • Only has a small parking space

David Huculak is one of the malpractice lawyers in Edmonton with extensive legal credentials, and this impressed us!He has been in practice since 1996 and has conducted trials in different courts, most notably the Alberta Court of King’s Bench and Yukon Supreme court.

Most of the clients of Huculak we got in touch with liked him and his legal services for being responsive, dedicated, and detail-oriented.

As an attorney, we like that Huculak specializes in cases related to injuries–such as vehicular mishaps and product liability–and occupier’s liabilities. It’s also helpful for clients that his law firm, James H. Brown & Associates, can help with class action lawsuits.

It is also worth mentioning that the law firm Huculak is working on has been operational since 1993.  To know that he has won numerous cases and thrived as an institution for several decades is reassuring.

We also think it is a plus that James H. Brown & Associates has numerous awards for its performance as a law firm and its sponsorship of local healthcare organizations. Its latest recognition was from the Acquisition International Magazine.

Also, the law firm gives back to the community through sponsorships of healthcare organizations, like the Spinal Cord Injury Alberta and the University Hospital Foundation. For us, such initiatives make them a trustworthy institution.

But, what we like the most about Huculak’s law firm is its 24/7 availability. It benefits clients whose only opportunity to inquire and visit is during the evenings.

On top of that, James H. Brown & Associates has an accessible location since it is five minutes away from Central Station and two bus stops on Jasper Avenue.

Sadly, parking would be difficult–especially during its busy hours from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM–since its roadside parking area is small and shared with other buildings nearby.

Pros

  • Lawyer has a doctorate degree
  • Has an experience in criminal court and real-estate transactions
  • Provides real estate and corporate legal services
  • Has a 24/7 customer line

Cons

  • Has relatively fewer years of experience
  • Office is inaccessible via public transportation

If you are looking for a lawyer with a studded background, then Basil Bansal is one of the best in Edmonton that we can recommend.

Aside from handling malpractice cases, Bansal has experience in criminal court and real estate transactions. He served as counsel to different courts, such as the Provincial Court and Queen’s Bench in Alberta.

We think Bansal’s experience is remarkable, considering he only started his legal career in 2016. On top of that, he also graduated with Juris Doctor from Bond University in Australia.

Bansal’s wide range of expertise merits him a plus point.  He specializes and has handled cases resulting from personal injury, contract disputes, product liability, and insurance breaches, among others.

Meanwhile, being hands-on and keeping them in the loop are the main characteristics of Bansal’s that left a positive mark on his clients.

Although his relative newness in the legal field is a slight weakness, we think his overall achievements even things out.

Meanwhile, Bansal is working at Diamond & Diamond Lawyers.. You may have heard of it because it has been operating for 40 years and has many branches in each province in Canada, making it one of the biggest law firms in the country.

We also think the law firm would be helpful for clients who had cases related to car accidents, brain injury, long-term disability, and such because it specializes in handling personal injury. Beyond that, it also provides real estate and corporate legal services.

Another thing we like about Diamond & Diamond Lawyers is the 24/7 customer line–a feature busy clients may find helpful.

However, it’s nowhere near bus or train stations, making it inaccessible via public transportation. On the bright side, Diamond & Diamond Lawyers has plenty of parking spots in its location!

  • Appointed as Queen’s Counsel and King’s Counsel
  • Has community initiatives
  • Has a 24/7 customer line

Cons

  • Has a small parking space

Christine Felix is a malpractice lawyer who has been working since 1995 and has received the title of Queen’s Counsel (2016) and King’s Counsel (2022). Given her credentials, we think she is a highly dependable choice.

In addition to her experience in personal injury litigation, Felix spent 12 years as a defence lawyer for insurance companies. That said, knowing how such organizations operate is an advantage, especially if you are the plaintiff.

On the other hand, we are glad to discover that many people who hired Felix are happy and satisfied with the outcome and her services. Most said her professional yet approachable presence helped them, especially when things get stressful.

Felix works at Cummings Andrews Mackay LLP (CAM LLP), a law firm specializing in personal injury cases. Considering that the law firm has been around since 1962, we’re certain that it’s a credible institution.

Although its roadside parking is limited in space, the firm’s location is also accessible via public transportation since it is a few steps away from Central Station or Churchill Station.

Another feature we like about CAM LLP is it has a customer line that accepts calls and requests 24/7.

Aside from posting its awards and sponsored groups, we like that CAM LLP did the same for the information of the cases its lawyers won. This receives a thumbs up from us because it allows its clients to decide about their choice of attorney.

  • Lawyer specializes in handling accident and injury cases
  • Lawyer volunteers in law institutions in Alberta
  • Has community initiatives
  • Accessible via bus
  • Ample parking space
  • Offers free initial consultations

Cons

  • Does not have a 24/7 customer line

Joseph A. Nagy is a malpractice attorney that has been practicing law since 2002 and has worked as a legal practitioner in four law firms. For us, his extensive professional experience indicates that he has a lot of skills to offer.

Since 2012, Nagy has been heading his legal firm, the Joseph A. Nagy Injury Law,  where he and his team handle all sorts of cases related to accidents and injuries. His over a decade of solo practice is an indicative of dedication, which is a green flag!

Although the office is nowhere near any train stations, we are glad that it is accessible via bus–a minute away from two bus stops. And if you decide to visit using your vehicle, we want to share that it has a big parking area.

But most of all, it’s commendable that Nagy and his law firm support local organizations. He volunteered in several organizations before and currently helps three groups–the longest being the Canadian Centre for Professional Legal Education (CPLED).

On the other hand, we appreciate that his company supports groups aiding people with life-changing injuries. Two of these include the Brain Care Centre and the Paralympic Sports Association.

Meanwhile, Nagy’s services have lots of positive feedback, specifically on how he and his team diligently answers and updates them on their case. For us, knowing that your lawyer possesses these qualities is nothing but reassuring.

Sadly, unlike other law firms, Nagy’s office does not have a 24/7 customer line. Even so, we still like that they will greet their inquiring clients with free consultations.
