Instructors have all the good qualities

“Jason Ho is THE guy you want as your instructor, especially if the idea of driving in Toronto makes you nervous like I was before my first lesson. He’s patient, encouraging, and kind – all the qualities you want in someone you’ll spend hours in traffic with! Passed my G at Downsview and couldn’t thank him enough for all the support. Also, the overall experience with Kruzee was amazing: hassle-free online booking and superb customer service!”

Builds student confidence on the road

“Manhal Sabra was a great instructor to have! I was very nervous about getting my G2 but he helped talk me through the maneuvers and was very clear and direct. He knew exactly how to encourage and guide me so I can build my confidence in driving. After my lessons with Manhal, I felt more at ease getting on the main roads and making safe decisions while driving.”

With multiple locations in the country (and two in Ottawa!), Young Drivers of Canada is a really accessible driving school for many. They have been around for over 50 years, which is a testament to their quality of service.

They also offer many programs, which is handy as they can cater to different needs. This includes full certification courses, G2 and road tests, individual lessons, as well as online courses.

But here’s the thing: their rates are expensive (even the online courses). While they’re not the most budget-friendly option, they do offer comprehensive programs, but we understand that not many students can afford Young Drivers.

And the issue we usually see with many branches is the quality of service tends to be a hit and miss. That’s true this time because some students noted less-than-stellar experiences.

Nonetheless, we’ve seen a massive improvement in their Ottawa locations. The majority of the clients we surveyed had positive experiences!

    Pros

    • Convenient locations
    • Offers many driving programs
    • Comprehensive programs
    • Online lessons are available

    Cons

    • Rates are high
    • Lessons can be a hit or miss

      Knowledgeable instructors

“I had Bob T. as an instructor in June to help me prep for my G exam. I am a nervous driver and showed up the first session overwhelmed and stressed. Bob was extremely patient and re-assuring. He helped build my confidence before my test and made me feel so much more at ease behind the wheel. He is fantastic at providing correction in a calm, practical and constructive way and was able to answer all my questions no matter how silly I felt they were. He drove home every single thing I would need to look out for on the test. I felt so prepared and ready, a complete 180 from how I felt 1 month prior. I feel so lucky to have had him as my instructor, oh and I passed my road test! First try!”

      Worth the money

“As an new driver, I was very nervous for my in-car lessons as I have never driven before. Bob, my driving instructor was very knowledgeable and helped me better understand the rules of the road. He was very patient and calm, which eased my nerves. The lessons are more expensive compared to other driving schools, but it is well worth the money. Definitely recommend Bob and Young Drivers!

During our client surveys, we received a few complaints regarding poor customer service. But we do appreciate their commitment to improving this.

Jim’s Driving School has been a trusted place in Canada for driving lessons. The proof? They’ve been doing this since 1963—imagine how many thousands of people have learned from them!

From what we’ve seen, these guys have been supportive and patient during driving lessons. However, some clients we spoke with didn’t exactly have stellar experiences due to the incompatible teaching methods.

Foreign nationals may have a tough time learning to drive in Ottawa, but Jim’s Driving School eliminates that. They have multilingual instructors ready to teach anyone!

These folks offer various driving courses for newbies and those with experience, where they will adapt their teaching methods based on your needs. They offer driver improvement courses, BDE courses, road tests, and private lessons.

For a driving school that has been around for so long in Ottawa, we were pleasantly surprised at their competitive prices. It’s even more awesome they offer special packages so you get discounted prices!

          • Established in 1963
          • Has multilingual instructors
          • Prices are competitive

            Supportive and patient driving instructor

“One of my friends suggested Jim’s Driving School to me. I had a wonderful experience training with my instructor, Peiman. He explained all the details thoroughly and with patience. He is very supportive and an expert instructor. I passed my full G exam on the first attempt. I would definitely recommend Jim’s Driving School.”

            Shadi Mehrabadi, Google Review

            Helps anxious drivers

“I’m an older and very anxious driver. I had my first in car session today. Winifred had me entirely at ease and feeling confident. He also had me parallel parking like a pro. Before I was terrified to drive. Now I can’t wait to hit the road again. And Sophea the admin is always very responsive. 100% recommend Jim’s. :)”
