Pros
- Conveniently located
- Near plenty of shops
- Members get 24/7 access
- Offers day passes
- Doesn’t require memberships
- Affordably priced
Cons
- No weekend access for day passes
With its two locations in Toronto, Verkspace Coworking is one of our top picks because of its accessibility. One location is along Britain Street, just five minutes from Yonge Line, and the other is on Adelaide Street.
The Adelaide location is our favourite because of the high ceilings and loft feel of the space, while maintaining a comfortable space. It certainly helps that it’s only a few minutes away from Spadina Avenue, where there are plenty of shops and bus stops.
Another thing we appreciate about the location is the building, which has a coffee shop on the ground floor. There’s also a bicycle storage area and shower suites!
Verkspace offers plenty of membership plans to cater to different needs, which earns our approval! It has hot desks, dedicated desks, and private offices.
But what stands out the most is the hot desk drop-in passes for $30 per day. You can also buy 10-day passes for $250, which is just $25 per day—it’s ideal if you’re on a business trip in Toronto!
Additionally, you can book a room per hour starting at $60. The best part? You don’t have to be a member to access these.
Despite not having a membership, you can still access the complete amenities at Verkspace, such as high-speed internet, printing services, and drinks. The downside is you can’t go on weekends as only members get 24/7 access.
Still, Verspace is one of our top coworking space options in Toronto due to the competitive prices, complete amenities, and convenient locations!

Pros
- Has two locations; third one soon-to-open
- Has bright and spacious areas
- Offers short-term and long-term plans
- Provides mailbox services
- Provides 24/7 access
Cons
- No quick access to shops and bus stops
- No day passes available
- Requires 3 months/1 year membership
East Room is a coworking space in Toronto with several locations: King Street E, Carroll Street, and the soon-to-open branch at Claremont Street. It’s an advantage because you can access it wherever you are.
We like the feel of East Room’s coworking spaces because all are bright, spacious, and trendy. There’s plenty of sunshine coming in, which we found helps add a positive mood while working.
But we found the locations not as convenient as we’d like. Both don’t have quick access to shops and bus stops, especially the one on Carroll Street, which is near a residential area.
As a membership coworking space, there are short-term and long-term plans, which we appreciate as these cater to different types of individuals and companies. There are dedicated desks, offices, and boardrooms.
With those memberships, you get access to plenty of amenities, such as WiFi from 25 Mbps to 50 Mbps, printing services, and phone booths. Plus, we like that you can access the coworking space 24/7, which is ideal for night shifts.
We most appreciate the mailbox membership, which allows you to have a professional business address—ideal for startups and freelancers! You’ll also get same-day notifications every time you get new mail—no need to check frequently!
But the downside is you can’t get day passes if you don’t want to stick to a membership. Additionally, East Room requires a membership commitment, which can vary from three months to one year based on the location and office type.

Pros
- Located downtown
- Has day passes with 24/7 access
- Offers 21-day trials
- Provides a virtual office
- Has no-commitment membership plans
Cons
- Only one location
- No private offices available
Our favourite thing about Project Spaces is its location. It’s along Camden Street, just off Spadina Avenue, full of local shops and eateries.
There’s just one location, though. But we can let that slide because it’s in downtown Toronto.
We like how bright the space can be in the mornings because plenty of windows let the sunlight in. It adds to a positive work mindset, don’t you think?
As for the membership options, we appreciate that there are plenty for different needs. There are dedicated desks, lounge memberships, and community memberships.
But there are no private offices at Project Spaces, unlike other coworking spaces in Toronto. If your business handles confidential information and you prefer a more secure and quiet environment, you may have to look elsewhere.
The silver lining is that you can rent the meeting room per hour for more privacy. We like that you can also book it for a full day, which is eight hours.
One of our favourite features of Project Spaces is its 24/7 flexible day passes—ideal if you’re just passing by Toronto. There’s also a convenient visual office if you need a professional business address!
We also appreciate the no-commitment membership plans. Project Spaces will only bill you every month, and you can cancel anytime with one month’s notice!
If you’re still unsure about Project Spaces, we recommend the $99 21-day trial with 24/7 access—that’s just under $5 a day! It’s a unique feature, no? Not many offer that in Toronto.
4. Startuptive

Pros
- Offers day passes
- Provides 24/7 access
- Offers free gym membership
- Has a gaming area
- Located 2 minutes from subway station
- Has a virtual office
Cons
- Only one location
- No 24/7 access to longue desk membership
Conveniently located in the Discovery District, Startuptive is one of our picks because it’s very clean and bright, with plenty of windows and lighting. We that it remains spacious despite the many desks and chairs.
It has flexible membership plans, which we appreciate because they’re convenient for freelancers. The one-day pass is affordable at $25, while a one-week pass is only $99.
Additionally, we like the options of offices for different business needs. If you want more privacy, you can book a private office for a month or opt for a daily meeting room rental.
Another impressive aspect is the huge 1,500-square-foot event space. It can hold up to over 80 people, ideal for conferences.
We also want to note the virtual office, which is helpful if you work from home. You can get your business mail and package delivered at Startuptive—no need to use your home address anymore!
Although we appreciate that members get 24/7 access, longue desk users can’t work at Startuptive on late nights or weekends. That saddened us because not all memberships get 24 hours.
Notably, Startuptive has a tonne of amenities! Besides the usual coffee, snacks, and WiFi, there’s also a washroom and shower, which is useful after working out since you get a free gym membership in the building.
Plus, we think the gaming area is a fun addition. If you’re feeling stressed from work, you can relax and unwind for a while without leaving the building.
Sadly, Startuptive only has one location. Nonetheless, it’s conveniently located downtown—just two minutes away from the subway!

Pros
- Has three locations; all commuter-friendly
- Has 24/7 access
- Has a dedicated room for seminars
- Amenities are serviced daily
- Has competitive rates
Cons
- No 24/7 access for day pass holders
- Day pass expires after 30 days
What we like about Staples Studio is its accessibility. It has three locations in Toronto: Corktown, Midtown, and University Avenue. The University Avenue location is our favourite because it’s massive at 4,500 square feet!
Furthermore, the University Avenue location is near the University of Toronto (perfect for studying!). Several minutes away, you’ll find churches, art galleries, and food establishments—it’s near Chinatown!
If you can’t visit that massive coworking space, the other two locations of Staples Studio are still convenient for commuters. There are plenty of subways and bus stops nearby.
Staples Studio also offers many services catering to students, freelancers, and businesses. There are hot desks, dedicated desks, meeting rooms, private offices, and mail services.
A standout feature for us is the Spotlight Space, dedicated to holding seminars, complete with state-of-the-art technology. It has stadium-style seating for better viewing and holds up to 40 people.
Also, we were pleasantly surprised at the affordable rates because of the huge space and many amenities. The day pass is only $25, and the hot desk unlimited membership is only $249 monthly.
Among the many membership plans, our top pick has got to be the flex membership. It’s only $99 per month, which already includes five workspace passes, mail service, and a one-hour meeting room rental—pretty cost-effective!
However, day pass holders don’t get weekend access. It also expires after 30 days, so we suggest purchasing it only when you’re sure about working or studying at Staples Studio.
Finally, we appreciate that amenities are serviced daily because there’s staff available even on weekends. We found the selection of tea and coffee is pretty excellent, too!
