Whether you just clocked out from work or are looking to meet up with friends, nothing beats sitting at the best bars in Kelowna. Time to crack open a cold one, or rather, order a drink from the bartender!

Located near the marina, Leopold’s Tavern is your dive bar that cooks up comfort food and fun cocktails. It’s full of life, with walls covered in all sorts of adornments that scream, “This is the kind of bar that won’t make you feel like an outsider!”

The menu feels the same, filled with delicious grub for every craving. Think: chicken wings, poutine, fries, tacos, burgers, and sandwiches.

The poutine is an obvious choice, topped with squeaky cheese curds. Go for the BBQ Rancher Poutine if you want something other than the traditional, and for richer flavours.

A visit to Leopold’s is incomplete without their popular 20-oz pint, the perfect drink to chug on any given day.

Pro Tip:

Bring out your thrifty self during the daily specials. Taco Tuesdays and Wing Wednesdays offer the best deals because the food is cheaper!

Day and night at Tonics Pub & Grill are very, very different. When the world’s awake, it’s an inviting spot to hang out in and grab thick-cut pizzas, but once the sun’s down, it transforms into a party zone where all the cool kids hang out!

Weekends are buzzin’ with the hottest beats where tap beers reign supreme. The DJ is out and the dance floor opens, offering more of a nightclub vibe where vibin’ all night is a must!

But if that’s not your thing, you can show up on non-live music nights to chill with a spicy Tonics Pizza in one hand and a chicken wing in the other. There are a bunch of creative cocktails for every season, but a cold glass of Guinness does the trick.

Pro Tip:

Take advantage of the Wednesday and Sunday Wing Special for only $10 per pound. The wet Buffalo is a classic for a spicy with a slightly tangy flavour.

O’Flannigan’s Pub is all about good craic and great beer. This downtown Kelowna bar combines the traditional Irish pub feel with a touch of New York style, resulting in a relaxed and more contemporary atmosphere.

It’s even more lively during live music and karaoke nights. If you’re ready to brave the stage, visit on Thursdays during open mic nights, and serenade the crowd or meet new people with the same interests as you!

Grab your favourite draught and pair it with a plate of chicken wings—we prefer the Guinness BBQ sauce for sweet and savoury flavours. Swing by on Wednesdays from 4 pm onwards and eat chicken wings for less than a loonie each!

Pro Tip:

If you want to listen to live music while having a pint, visit on Fridays or Saturdays. Don’t forget to check their events page to see all the happenings!

For those searching for a bar in Kelowna that’s a bit quieter and more sophisticated, The Ricco Room is a must. This one radiates fancy dining, perfect for romantic nights, catch-ups with friends, and an overall fun yet relaxing time.

The decor? Impeccable. It’s like a forest jumped out of an industrial space, with plenty of greenery and swings for chairs. It’s fancy, overall, and feels more intimate at night due to the more dreamy setting.

The cocktails? Creatively divine. A popular choice, for good reason, is the Fairy Godmother, a tarty drink made with Absinthe and St. Germain. It comes with a gimmick, as it’ll be served with a bubble on top of the glass that you have to pop.

Pro Tip:

Check the schedule in the summer to see if they’re finally open from Sunday to Tuesday. They’re only open four days a week for the rest of the year.

A downtown Kelowna bar that stays true to its name is Micro Bar & Bites. This one’s small in size but mighty in offerings, serving small plates, creative libations, and classic cocktails, all meant to bring good times.

Our favourite thing about this bar is that it’s packed with charm, serving creatively plated tapas and perfectly mixed drinks. There’s something for every palate, all interestingly crafted.

Our picks? The Duck Fat Popcorn, which is literally a bowl of popcorn drizzled with duck fat. It sounds simple enough, but it adds a savoury taste to this delicious bar snack! Order the Take It Capr-Easy for a drink infused with basil olive oil with nutty notes.

Pro Tip:

If you’re feeling famished, grab a quick meal somewhere else first. The plates here are small, which may not satisfy your hunger. It’s a good idea to come with a full tummy if you’re trying out a bunch of drinks, anyway.

Beer + bowling = good times. BNA Brewing in Kelowna offers just that, elevated by draughts brewed on site! It’s not your typical watering hole, as it’s made for entertainment.

The contemporary industrial style mixed with a homey vibe adds a stylishly warm ambience. It’s not boring—it’s actually very fun, given it comes with bowling lanes, a bocce court, and arcade machines.

Grab a pint from the Brewer’s Taps and taste the latest beverages. There’s also no denying that their Steamed Pork Buns go perfectly with a cold beer, as well as the crowd favourite Filipino Fried Rice, because a pint complements the umami flavour.

Pro Tip:

Reserve the bowling or bocce lane to make sure you can play during your visit. If you’re available on Monday or Thursday, visit after dusk for half off the bowling price.

Sophistication oozes at Born to Shake, a Kelowna cocktail bar that utilises local ingredients. The refined appeal speaks through the decor and drinks, where every sip will transport you to libation bliss!

We recommend the Old Fashioned if “bitter and intense” is what you prefer. In the summer, the Blueberry Peach Smash will refresh your senses!

This is also THE brunch bar in Kelowna, as the food menu is a sure winner. We do like the classic Bagel and Cream Cheese, but the Big Breakfast Bagel appeals to our taste buds as it’s flavourful but not overwhelming.

Pro Tip:

If you love their cocktails, join a class to learn how to create one… and maybe save a couple of loonies in the future when you’re craving a bevvie!

Pretty Not Bad is a pretty cool hangout spot, where you can feel a sense of community without alienating visitors in the city. It’s a hub for sports fans, individuals who want to have a fun time, and those who appreciate good food and great drinks.

The space has a simple design yet exudes a unique atmosphere. If, sometimes, you feel intimidated watching a match at a sports bar, you’ll be glad to learn that you won’t feel that here.

This downtown Kelowna bar is also the spot for chasing classic and specialty cocktails. One of our top choices is the bright and berry Pink Panther, although a classic IPA never disappoints when the game’s on.

Pro Tip:

When there’s a game on TV, the bar will naturally be busy. Arrive early to get a table if you don’t want to sit at the busy bar.

Fresh on the scene, Ask Pablo Cocktail Bar + Kitchen encourages indulgence, as long as you’re up for well-combined cocktails and tapas that hit the spot in a way you never thought they could.

And we’re not exaggerating here. Imagine this: wagyu beef tartare that melts in your mouth, perfectly chewy mochi donuts, and cocktails with a harmonious balance of flavours.

The intimate setting also elevates the dining experience here. It has a trendy vintage feel with embellishments that don’t overwhelm the space, resulting in an effortless, sophisticated ambience.

Pro Tip:

If you cannot find the bar, look for an illuminated question mark on the building.

A bar that brings a little bit of country to Kelowna is always a good idea. This Country Bar serves up a lively experience where you can unleash your inner cowboy or cowgirl and dance throughout the night as the DJ plays the hottest beats.

What is this bar all about? It’s about creating unforgettable memories and exciting nights. This is also the place to unwind after a stressful week at work, because aside from showing off your moves on the dance floor, you can play a game of pool to cool off.

Of course, we don’t go here just to dance. We stay for the booze! Grab a cold glass of draught and let the music move you. Maybe you might even meet new friends here, because locals and visitors can savour the moment without pressure!

Pro Tip:

This is an adults-only bar, so make sure you bring two IDs, which you must show at the door.
