One of the aspects we appreciate is that Solaris partnered with industry-leading manufacturers to create high-quality products. On top of that, they have innovative designs to provide convenient solutions to every client.

Additionally, they provide various shade solutions to Edmonton residents that can withstand the city’s weather changes. We like that there are screens, shelters and security options, allowing clients to find the best fit for their homes.

Another option we appreciate is that the Solaris team can install awnings on an existing structure or have it wall-mounted to the house. They can even install free-standing awnings, perfect for Edmonton’s weather.

Moreover, their Sunplus Retractable Shelter can be placed in pergolas, which we think clients will like as it can add shade to their outdoor spaces. To boot, it has a gutter system to drain rainwater properly.

We were also glad that they offer many features for their retractable awnings. And while clients can retract these during harsh weather, the awnings have been shown to withstand up to 93 mph winds.

As for customer support, many clients had positive experiences from purchase to installation. The Solaris team was quick to help and even offered suggestions without feeling like a sales pitch.

What’s more, the delivery and installation were excellent, too. When clients received faulty products, the staff was responsive and quickly sent a team to fix the problems.

However, we’d like to see pricing estimates readily available. Some clients have limited budgets, so we think adding prices can be valuable to them. 

Lastly, we’d like to see an updated portfolio or selection so clients can check their available designs online. We believe this will be helpful, considering their physical shop is closed on weekends.

Even the team was efficient, too. The clients we talked with appreciated the prompt delivery and installation.

However, we’d like an available price list for the client’s convenience. Also, their showroom’s closed on weekends, so clients can’t visit on their days off.

Way back in 1895, Robert Kenneth established a tent and mattress company which later changed into Edmonton Tent & Awning 2000 Inc. It adjusted along with Edmonton’s history but continues to provide quality products.

One of the aspects we appreciate is the company’s years of experience. To this day, it remains Edmonton’s oldest locally-owned manufacturing company.

Consequently, they’ve maintained good standing in the city. They even have an A+ rating from the BBB, which allows clients to have support in case of consumer complaints.

Another aspect we admire is the large selection of products, including awnings and roller blinds. The variety of choices allows Edmontonians to have a home that can protect them from extreme weather changes.

Apart from offering retractable awnings, we like that they have motorized ones for convenience. They offer these with rain, sun, and wind sensors, too.

Furthermore, they accept residential and commercial projects. They’ve even worked on awnings for some of Edmonton’s big companies, which we think is impressive.

However, they have a slight drawback in customer service. There were instances when the team didn’t show up despite an appointment.

Also, there were cases of them delivering faulty products. The way we see it, clients spend a tonne of money on awnings, so they should act immediately when there are defective products.

Since 1984, Canfab Products has continued to serve residential, commercial, and industrial clients in the Edmonton area. It earned a BBB accreditation in 1990 and now has an A+ rating.

We find it incredible that the company offers free consultations for all services. Since this has no obligation, we like that clients can save some money, especially small businesses.

We also appreciate that it has a stocked facility to make sure there’s a large inventory of materials for a more effective service. In addition, it has a complete team that can handle any big or small project.

Impressively, it has earned awards for several projects, including Tin Pan Alley’s custom awnings. However, we hope they can include a portfolio so clients can see their past projects, especially their award-winning ones.

Moreover, the team has expertise in making different types of awnings, from stationary to retractable ones. Due to this, clients will have the option of buying the awning that’ll fit their budgets.

The clients we surveyed complimented the staff’s friendliness. Further, they liked the company’s work because of the high-quality materials.

Unfortunately, they’re unavailable on weekends. But on a good note, they close later than other awning companies in Edmonton, giving working clients a chance to catch them while they’re open.

Sunspace by Relaxed Sunrooms has been in the industry for more than 30 years. It’s a locally-owned and operated company serving Edmonton and its nearby areas.

One of the things we like is that all products are Canadian-made, which we believe will please many Edmontonians because it allows them to support the community.

In addition, clients will appreciate that each Sunspace product was made to withstand Alberta’s climate. Since the province’s weather can be extreme, we were happy to hear about this.

Furthermore, we were glad that the company offers a 10-year warranty for all awnings. It’s a longer warranty compared to other services in Edmonton, too.

To boot, they have a tonne of awning selection that can accommodate any home. One of Sunspace’s most popular choices is the retractable awning that comes with manual or motorized gears for clients to choose from.

Moreover, their awnings come in different colours. We were also glad they offer custom colour matching, so it’ll perfectly match the client’s home.

It’s worth noting that they have a showroom, allowing clients to check the products’ designs, colours, and quality. But it’s available by appointment only, and since they don’t provide operating hours, finding time to visit may be challenging.
