Pup-Approved: Canada’s 5 Best Dog Cafes You MUST Bring Fido To!

If there’s one thing you have to know about me, it’s that I love bringing my dog everywhere I go. Whether I’m going for a morning jog or grabbing a bite for lunch, I enjoy taking my pup because he enjoys going to new places!

Luckily for us, Canada is now more welcoming to pets in establishments. We can now bring our furry companions to pet-friendly places without worrying about getting shooed away!

But not all establishments are dog-friendly. So, I decided to make a list of the dog cafes my buddy and I have been to where we felt welcomed and where my pup got lots of belly rubs!

Bring Your Dog Cafe in Hamilton is the ultimate dog cafe—it’s basically heaven for pet parents and their pups! You can bring your dog inside (yes, inside!) and have a nice cup of coffee in this spacious paw-some restaurant.

The fun part is that doggies can be off-leash inside, so they can meet new friends. Big and small dogs are welcome to drop by (we’ve seen retrievers and huskies), and you can bring up to two dogs (some exceptions for professional dog walkers and handlers).

Feel free to book a grooming session for your pup while you meet four-legged cuties. Watch out for special events, like dog teeth cleaning and giveaways!

Pro Tips:

Avoid bringing dog toys inside since it’s not permitted for the safety of other pups. Also, make sure your dog is well-behaved to keep things safe for everyone.

Before coming in, take your dog on a pee/poo break at the nearby park (and pick up after your dogs). Everyone is encouraged to bring their dogs outside for regular bathroom breaks.

Hamilton is killing it with dog cafes! Munchies Coffee House & Barkery is a must-visit for paw-rents because you can bring your dog inside! Since 2009, they’ve welcomed all humans and their dogs to eat, relax, and meet new people.

Delicious baked dog treats are available in this dog cafe, including pupcakes! The human menu is equally exciting, which includes all-day breakfast items, coffee, and caffeine-free drinks!

You’re free to book the cafe for a doggie birthday party. Don’t forget to order a ruffcake (basically a cake that’s safe for dogs to eat) to make it even more special.

And if you’re dropping by with your actual baby (a human baby, this time), this place is a breastfeeding-safe zone. It’s the ultimate safe space for everyone!

Pro Tips:

Before entering the establishment, bring your dog to the green area beside the plaza for a bathroom break. It’s to avoid accidents inside since this is a restaurant.
You cannot bring your intact adult male dogs inside. Better wait until they get the snip before popping in.

The interior of Cafe23 is gorgeous, but staying on the patio feels magical. You can eat and drink with your dog while listening to birds chirping.
