So, here are my favourite shops that make the best cakes in Calgary that will satisfy your every craving! Don’t forget to leave some for me!

Sweet Relief Pastries is all about delicious cakes! They provide beautifully designed cakes for any occasion, which also means you can ask for a custom one for your party, whether you want a simple design or something inspired by your favourite show!
The store has cakes on display, so you’re free to order a whole cake or just pick up a slice. The flavours also rotate every week, so it’s always a surprise when you visit—you can find a cheesecake, Boston cream, and lemon berry!
We do like the Cake Tasting Box, which gives you six slices of their most popular classic flavours. It’s ideal if you’re looking for something sweet for your event or for your wedding!

At this Calgary cake shop, what you see is what you get. You can purchase any cakes you see on their delivery website (including ready-to-enjoy and frozen cakes). They have many flavours, from the classic chocolate to fruity delights!
Make it extra special and add a special message to the cake! Plus, their bakery is also famous for their macarons and baked goods—kind of like an all-in-one dessert shop!
Pro Tips:
If you live far away, you can order ahead. Once they open, all cakes are available for everyone to buy, so you can call in advance if you think you might arrive a little late (remember the shop closes at 5 pm).
We suggest shooting them an email instead of calling. They might not answer all the time since they’ll be busy assisting their customers.
WOW Bakery & Cafe

WOW Bakery & Cafe deserves their name because you’ll go “wow!” with every bite of their decadent cakes! Their delicious sweets have been so popular they have now expanded to more locations in Calgary!
These guys are serious when it comes to their cakes and baked goods (they even hired experts in healthy pastries in Korea!). Their cakes are infused with Korean, Japanese, and French influences while also keeping up with the newest trends.
With just the designs, you’ll end up salivating because their cakes look too good! The flavours and texture are equally the same, delicious and god-tier, especially their bestselling earl grey cake!
Pro Tip:
Not all locations are ideal for dining in. Their branches on Chinook are more of a grab ‘n go, unlike their Marda Loop and Royal Oak shops with small seating areas.

It seems like everything Pretty Sweet does is aesthetically pleasing. Their cakes are so beautiful your guests will be talking about them for weeks!
One of their specializations is wedding cakes, which we have to admit are too stunning to eat! But you have to because they don’t skimp out on ingredients—they serve moist and delicious cakes that aren’t overwhelmingly sweet.
They make classic, celebration, themed, and animal cakes, which come in a wide variety of designs (from simple to over-the-top choices!). There are many flavours too, like the popular vanilla bean and the fun birthday cake crumble.
Pro Tips:
Their shop is hard to spot from the street. Just drive to the parking lot of Manchester Business Centre (the same building as WALDO Distributions) and continue around until you spot their shop.
All their cakes are on an order basis. If you need a last-minute treat, order from their online shop and pick it up the next day.

Bake My Day is all about making special bespoke cakes for every occasion. You see, cake is not just a dessert here; it’s an art that you and your guests will look at in awe because of how beautifully designed it is.
Everything is baked fresh, so you only taste the most decadent cakes. You can choose from many sizes and designs, from simple to themed cakes (let your imagination run wild!), and whether you want fondant or buttercream (depending on the design).
If you love unique flavours, you can probably find them here! These come in classic, signature, seasonal, and fruity! And if you have something in mind, they can accommodate your request, as long as it won’t turn out yucky!
Pro Tips:
If you need to talk to them regarding your design, you need to book an appointment since they don’t have a storefront. They’re available from Tuesday to Saturday (note that the hours aren’t the same as their pickup times).
If your cake has flowers on it, don’t eat them! They’re not edible! Also, keep in mind that tiered cakes will have internal support, so don’t smash the celebrant’s face on the cake.

They make custom cakes for any occasion, and you can choose single to tiered ones! Their cakes are perfect even on a regular day (no need for an occasion to eat cake!) because they’re soft and ridiculously delicious!
Their bestsellers are their fruit cakes, which are designed with real, fresh fruits. The cakes are made with light and fluffy sponges— even people who don’t like sweets will enjoy every bite!

Rainbow Bakery doesn’t have a website, so just slide into their DMs to order a custom cake.

The designs are well-made, and you can clearly see that only talented cake designers handled these! This bakery makes moist cakes (and cupcakes!) that are perfectly light and nicely paired with their sweet icing!
Pro Tips:
When ordering online, make sure you use an updated browser or the pick-up option won’t show up. You can always call your nearest branch if you’re having a tough time with their website.

Whippt Kitchen is a neighbourhood bakery in Calgary that sells the most addicting desserts! They’re more of a pastry shop but have the most divine cakes because of the quality ingredients, perfect blend of flavours, and moist sponge!
They’re our go-to for aesthetic cakes because every icing is placed flawlessly and the combination of colours matches perfectly (your guests will be jealous of your cake!). They’re popular for their double barrel cakes, but you can always order a custom one.
If you want a wedding cake, we suggest the Cake Tester Box that includes five of your chosen flavours, priced at only $40. And there’s a lot of flavour options, from the classics to cakes soaked in rum!

If you want to dine in, go to their Brittania shop. Their Foothills location is only a takeout service.

If you want to indulge in something sweet but don’t want to pre-order, you can head over to A Ladybug Bakery and Cafe. It’s a cute place on Aspen with European influences that sells the most gorgeous and yummy desserts and pastries.
This is not the bakery where you have to order a big cake because they have mini ones! Plus, this is the perfect setting to unwind and enjoy the simple things in life, like eating a small cake paired with a good cup of coffee.
They have a nice selection of yummy flavours, such as lemon tart, Nutella éclair, strawberry shortcake, and peanut butter fudge cheesecake. We just have to say that the cakes are so cute and Instagram-worthy!
Pro Tips:
This is a go-to for last-minute cakes. If you want a full cake or need custom writing, you can order for next-day delivery (as long as you give them 24 hours notice).
If you need a cake right now, call to see if they still have full cakes. They have lots of desserts available, so it’s best to contact them immediately before they sell out.
