Resilience Fitness is one of our favourite Hyrox gyms in Toronto because of their community-driven approach. From what we’ve seen, their coaches really know how to encourage the members to push boundaries without being harsh.

During our visit, we were surprised at how insane the gym is! It’s big, clean, and spacious, offering a lot of room for intense Hyrox workout sessions.

On top of that, their gym is armed with equipment specifically for your Hyrox training (they’re a Hyrox-affiliated gym, after all). You can crush it at the sled push without worrying about people in the way!

The only minor downside is you cannot reach their Durham and East York gyms in a flash from downtown. Then again, their locations allow them to have a lot of space.

A little drive is fine because their prices are crazy good! The monthly unlimited access starts at $199.95, which is worth every loonie because you can access both gyms and one-on-one group personal training!

Pros

  • Community-driven approach
  • Big and spacious gym
  • Fully equipped
  • Reasonable prices
  • Memberships have great value

Cons

  • Located in East York and Durham

Huge gym full of positive atmosphere

“I absolutely love my gym! The workouts are fantastic, and the space is huge, which gives me plenty of room to move around. But what really sets this gym apart is the sense of community and encouragement. The atmosphere is so positive and motivating, and it really helps me stay on track with my fitness goals. I highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a great workout and a supportive community!”

Coaches are welcoming and encouraging

“I love this gym so much! The classes are fantastic – tons of variety and set-up in a way that you can go at your own pace. The coaches are all incredibly encouraging and enthusiastic. They each make a big effort to learn your name, say hi to everyone that walks in, and make them feel welcomed. I’ve truly never worked out in a place that has built such a friendly and inclusive community. Wherever you’re at in your fitness journey there’s a place for you at resilience and I absolutely recommend checking it out!”

Empact Fitness is all about training small group classes, which we like because it can provide a sense of community. We also love how it allows the coaches to monitor all members during the workout.

They have a diverse range of classes, such as strength and conditioning improvement, skills development, and Hyrox training. Their Hyrox classes are made up of a comprehensive program specifically tailored to train in all eight workout stations.

We want to highlight their coaches, who have provided a fun yet motivational workout journey. It’s awesome they also went above and beyond regarding training sessions, which was noted by the clients we spoke with.

As for the prices, their Hyrox classes are reasonable (it’s $139 to $159 a month). It’s a bummer there are no drop-in classes, but they have a $35 7-day trial.

When you look at their location, their gym is super accessible, taking only 5 minutes to get to your Hyrox class!

Pros

  • Small group classes
  • Reasonably priced Hyrox classes
  • 7-day trials are available
  • Accessible gym

Cons

  • No drop-ins

One of the best gyms in the city

“One of the best gyms in Toronto. Claire is an awesome trainer and her hyrox classes really challenge you physically and mentally. As a result, my fitness level had gone to the next level.

The space is also very nice.”

Marc Brathwaite, Google Review

Coaches and members are encouraging

“No questions  asked. The best gym I’ve  tried in the area (and I have  been to most of them)

Claire is so encouraging  and helpful. She will get you moving and will  push you,  but not too far.

The members  are amazing, and so encouraging, honesty, there is nothing I can think of for a negative.

I put off joining here for a year and regret wasting so long.

Don’t think you can’t do it because  it looks intense, or kmyou don’t lime running, etc.

You will be fine!!!”

If you don’t want to travel far for your Hyrox classes, going to F45 Training is a good idea. They have a lot of locations all over the world, including an impressive 40 studios in Toronto alone!

One of our favourite things is they offer a lot of classes (with over 5,000 movements developed) to help you with your fitness journey. They have strength classes to help you get started with your Hyrox race.

Plus, the dedication and comprehensive programs from their coaches are superb! In fact, they have an exclusive portal that includes a diet program that will perfectly match your training—it eases the workload, eh?

We love how well-maintained their gyms are. They have complete equipment, so you can get your Hyrox training in!

However, they’re not the easiest options, budget-wise, costing $325 for an unlimited 1-month pass. But if you look at their coaches, quality of training, and facilities, it kind of makes sense.

Pros

  • Lots of locations in Toronto
  • Developed over 5,000 movements
  • Exclusive portal includes a diet program
  • Well-maintained gyms

Cons

  • Expensive membership rates

Conveniently located

Downtown Toronto gym is one of the best

“I’ve worked out at many F45 locations in Canada and the USA. In Toronto, I find this one to be the best. Damon has so much positive energy, and Jenna is a very lovely trainer! She always encourages us to finish the workout. Drew always corrects my workout positions, and I appreciate how professional all of you are! 100% recommend, for any beginners and advanced fitness people as the trainers are with you every step of the way. Thank you F45 downtown Toronto!”

The Academy of Lions in Toronto is the place to go if you want a workout and hangout place in one! They have an on-site coffee shop where you can enjoy a protein shake after exercising.

They also offer a lot of functional training classes, including all-inclusive and specialty classes. Their Hyrox training includes a comprehensive program that helps members of different levels train effectively and safely, which is cool as it can help with race day.

We also love the layout of their gym because it’s spacious with a great atmosphere to work out in. There’s even enough equipment for group classes.

Their memberships are a tad pricey, but we still think they’re fair due to the quality of training we’ve seen. There’s a free trial if you want to check it out first.

Anyway, these guys have proven themselves reliable. During our client surveys, the coaches helped push the limits with the workouts!

Pros

  • Has an on-site coffee shop
  • Offers all-inclusive and specialty classes
  • Spacious gym
  • Offers free trials

Cons

  • Memberships are pricey

Knowledgeable trainers

“Great space and knowledgeable trainers! I attended their free intro class with Freya and had a great workout! Freya is super knowledgeable, she helped correct my squat and gave me some helpful tips to improve my ankles mobility. They offer lots of classes for both beginner and experienced lifters and the space is awesome! Definitely looking forward to joining.”

“Woah, what a gym & community. As soon as you walk in, you’re welcomed and treated like family. The instructors are punctual, knowledgeable, hard-working and helpful. They truly are passionate about what they’re doing and you feel it every time you step into the gym. Great facility, high ceilings, all around great atmosphere. Thank you so much Academy of Lions, job well done!”

We chose One Academy because of the solid reputation they’ve built in the community. They’ve been voted one of the best gyms in Toronto, which speaks about the quality of training they give.

It’s awesome they also have many offerings for athletes of all fitness levels. Basically, they offer a bunch of classes, including personal training, group classes, and Hyrox training.

They offer different kinds of Hyrox memberships for members and non-members. The fact that they accept even non-members shows how accessible they are.

Speaking of accessibility, they have two gyms that offer Hyrox: in Leslieville and Etobicoke. It’s cool that Etobicoke has wellness services, like massage therapy, for your Hyrox recovery!

But here’s the thing: their unlimited memberships at Leslieville have a long waitlist. That’s unfortunate since members get cheaper rates for Hyrox training.

On a good note, we love the energy we’ve seen. There’s a sense of community, and the coaches give just the right amount of motivation.

Pros

  • Voted one of the best Toronto gyms
  • Offers a bunch of classes
  • Has two locations
  • Etobicoke gym offers wellness services
  • Accepts non-members

Cons

  • Leslieville is currently on a waitlist

Unmatched coaching and training

“The coaching and training at OA is unmatched. Your best will be challenged, your form will be correct, you will feel the change in your energy and mood, and you will surpass your goals. Client-focused, open everyday, eight in-person and two live virtual sessions per day, endurance training,  runs, wellness clinics, RMT, physio, osteo, member events, lots of fun.”

Ronnie Shore, Google Review

Everyone is welcoming and motivating

“Easily my favourite gym in town. This gym has versatility, quality training plans, high energy and build soldiers. Everyone is so fit, and at the same time so welcoming. Love the owner too, incredibly motivating! I hope they expand to more cities because when I am away I miss this spot!”
