Pros
- Has a wide service area
- Offers various tree services
- Does Christmas light installation
- Competitive prices
- Known for effective process
Cons
- Closed on Sundays
- Lack of pricing estimates
Beaver Bros services Edmonton with various tree-related services. It also has a broader service area from Spruce Grove to Wabamun Lake.
It’s a registered business, ensuring you’re getting a legitimate service. We appreciate that they are insured and have Workers’ compensation Board (WCB) coverage, which is great for your peace of mind in case of accidents on your property.
Another thing we appreciate is the company’s commitment to safety. Employees are trained in climbing trees, even high ones.
But they also use a bucket truck, which adds more safety to the technicians. What’s great about this is they can access tall trees for safer removal.
Moreover, they ensure the safety of your property and nearby structures by tree rigging. We think potential clients will appreciate their concern for your property.
In fact, the clients we talked with liked the technicians’ professionalism and effective approach. Their whole process was smooth and safe.
We want to highlight that they were respectful of their client’s properties. Their clients mentioned that the technicians thoroughly cleaned up after the tree removal.
Another thing their clients were happy about was the competitive prices. Although, we think it’s best to add pricing estimates for transparency.
Also, they’re closed on Sundays. On the positive side, they’re open until 8:00 pm for six days a week.
We’re also glad about their variety of services. They offer tress pruning and stump grinding.
Also, Beaver Bros does Christmas light installation during the winter months. They can even put some on your big trees using their bucket truck.

Pros
- Founded in 1998
- ISA-certified arborists
- Provides transparency
- Known for top-notch service
- Has a great cleanup process
Cons
- Closed on weekends
- Difficult to get immediate bookings
In 1998, Mike Burge, passionate about arboriculture, founded Arbor Man Tree Care in Edmonton. He has grown his team with more arborists and equipment.
Burge is a certified arborist by the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). Also, there are currently seven ISA-certified arborists in the company.
Additionally, they have a Certificate of Recognition (COR), which means they are evaluated yearly to ensure safety protocols are met.
We think you’ll be glad to know that they are fully insured and have WCB coverage. Also, they have a $5 million coverage through Peace Hills Insurance company.
Another thing we want to highlight is their transparency regarding insurance coverage. They’ve included the important details on their website for potential clients to see.
As for their process, their arborists will clean up any fallen branches immediately for a more efficient service. We think you’ll like how the team quickly sweeps their client’s property to ensure there’s no clutter left.
However, we think they can add a price list, especially since a few clients found their pricing slightly higher than other arborists in Edmonton. On a good note, their final fees were accurate with the initial quotes.
Another thing worth highlighting is their top-notch service, which many clients praised their arborists for. The whole team was professional and efficient.
Sadly, Arbor Man Tree Care is closed on weekends. We recommend calling in advance because they get many bookings, making it difficult to get immediate appointments.

Pros
- Over 15 years of experience
- Wide service area
- ISA-certified arborists
- Competitive rates
- Provides prompt service
Cons
- Closed on weekends
- Lack of pricing estimates
Operating for over 15 years, Grinders Tree Service started off with tree removal services in Edmonton. Now, they’ve expanded by serving more areas in Alberta’s Highway 2 and Red Deer.
It’s fully insured and licensed, which ensures a reputable company. We believe you’ll appreciate that they are ISA-certified, which means their arborists comply with the code of ethics regarding safety and credibility.
Besides that, they have complete equipment, including a spider lift to reach areas as high as 70 feet. To add, they bring a wood chipper to the location for leaves and branches before disposing of them.
Despite the competitive rates, we think they can add a readily available price guide to give potential clients an idea of the money they need to spend.
Past clients appreciated the responsiveness. Some even mentioned that Grinders Tree Service was the first company to reply to them for quotations.
Additionally, the arborists of Grinders Tree Service arrived on time, preventing any delays. The team was also fast with their service, even with tall trees.
Furthermore, the crew worked fast to clear the property of any debris. However, some clients felt that they could improve the cleanup service.
Sadly, they don’t work on weekends and close a tad earlier than similar companies. On a good note, they offer various tree services.

Pros
- Over 20 years in the business
- Complete tree services
- Fair prices
- Gives away free firewood
- Offers senior citizen discounts
Cons
- Lack of pricing estimates
- Some cases of no-shows for estimates
Ace of Trees is a locally-owned small business providing complete tree-related services. It has been operating in the industry for over 20 years.
Its owner, Doug Burton, ensures a hands-on approach with every job. We believe clients will appreciate that the owner does the work firsthand.
They have a qualified and fully trained staff, ensuring their clients’ properties are safe from tree-cutting risks. We also appreciate the full equipment so they can reach high areas.
We appreciate their full WCB coverage and public and personal liability insurance of $5 million. We think many clients will highly appreciate this in case of worksite accidents.
It’s worth highlighting that the crew collects all the branches for firewood, and instead of dumping them, they give them to their clients for free. You only need to go on their call list and be the first to pick up the phone!
Sadly, there were cases of no-shows despite confirmed appointments. As a result, some clients had to rearrange their schedules because of a wasted day.
Also, we think they can add a price guide for clients to have a general idea of possible expenses, especially since there were cases of unresponsiveness for estimates.
It’s good that their clients were happy about the fair prices. In addition, the crew were professional and did excellent work on tree removal and cleanup.
Lastly, we recommend senior citizens take advantage of Ace of Trees’ discounts to save more money, especially if you need many tree services.

Pros
- Open daily
- Over 25 years of experience
- Offers a wide variety of services
- A+ BBB rating
- Reasonable prices
Cons
- Lack of price list
- Longer wait time for service
For more than 25 years, Active Tree Services has continued to provide residential tree services to Edmonton residents. It has a wide variety of services, from tree removal to branch disposal.
We appreciate that it’s a licensed and insured business. To add, it has WCB coverage for employees due to the dangers of tree removal jobs.
As for equipment, the arborists use a bucket truck for those hard-to-reach areas. We’re glad they have machinery for more efficient stump grinding.
What’s great is the crew focuses on prompt service. They request photos when you email them for estimates so they can respond quickly.
Further, they try to respond within 48 hours. As their past clients mentioned, they received a quick response, some even within the day.
Although for immediate service, we advise booking an appointment early. They get many clients, so expect a longer wait time for tree removal from a couple of days or weeks.
They’re also open daily, which is great for those busy on weekdays. To add, they close late at 8:00 pm.
A slight downside is the lack of an estimated price list for transparency. On the positive, they offered reasonable prices.
Another good thing is the professional and thorough service. Past clients were happy with the smooth process and respectfulness of the property.
Lastly, Active Tree Services has an A+ rating with the BBB. With this, many people will appreciate the company’s commitment to client satisfaction.
