“The studio was beautiful and Dan (the owner/runner) was so easy to communicate with and knew his stuff. Options for parking, had AC (though may be too noisy to leave on during shooting, FYI!), all the amenities, great bathroom and dressing room. Ahma has got this laid-back, boho-chic vibe thanks to reclaimed wood touches and a slick marble bar, which just fits perfectly for birthdays or micro gatherings.

The site is fully licensed, holding up to about 40 guests, and comes decked out with house decor—candles, dried florals, premium glassware, and plateware—so everything feels considered but still relaxed.

We’re also big fans of how they roll out everything in-house—catering, bar, planning, and day-of support, and even custom menu planning and cocktail classes if the crew wants.

Their kitchen’s right on-site too, and the bar setup looks great, though we’ve heard from a few guests that shots can take a while when it’s busy.

All the party tech is covered (think projector and SONOS speakers), so tech issues aren’t really a worry. However, the lack of dedicated parking means the paid spots nearby are the only option.

Sixteen Eleven Studios is one of those spaces we keep recommending for birthday parties, and for good reason.

The energy here feels versatile—their 1,000 sq ft space doesn’t box clients in, so whether the crowd’s just family or the guest list is piling up, there’s room to breathe. 

There’s an all-white photography studio, which makes for seriously cool party shots, and those 10-foot ceilings and customizable LED lighting turn every event into its own vibe!

People even rave about the lighting options and how the space goes from a sleek gallery feel to lively party mode in minutes. Furthermore, there’s a fully equipped bar/cafe and modular furniture (though you can’t move it around, so layouts stay fixed).

What’s more, the staff is consistently described as helpful, down-to-earth, and on top of details—transparency with rates and availability is a plus, too! But heads up: they don’t have a kitchen, so food is BYO or catered.

“We hosted my wife’s 40th bday party at Sixteen Eleven. Kelsi was informative, prompt and flexible in the booking process. We were able to scope out the space ahead of time to help with planning and the night of the party, Kelsi helped out bartending and was the official photographer. Super affordable vs any other option in the city. We rented the speakers and mic but brought our own DJ and decks. 20 people came through for an intimate party with full bar service. Amazing night and would absolutely book with Kelsi again.”

First off, we love how A Event Space’s place is basically a blank slate, so they can easily accommodate everything from cozy birthday dinners to full-on galas. This also means everyone’s got the freedom to shape it to their style.

A plus point goes for the amenities, too. We’ve noticed they roll out staging, sofa, proper cutlery, mics, lighting, and projectors. It doesn’t end there, since they also provide tables, chairs, security, dressing suites, liquor licences, and patio access.

Another feature we’ve heard good things about is the indoor heated saltwater pool right next to the main event space. For groups up to 150, the pool’s definitely become a bit of a party magnet.

Location-wise, being in North York makes it super accessible, and the free parking and fast WiFi make logistics a breeze. 

But of course, there are some hiccups here. Some guests mentioned they encountered rude staff and that the food is fully BYO, so you’ll need to have your own caterer. Also, with a place this size, air conditioning sometimes struggles, especially when it’s packed.

SPACE on King got into our radar because it kept popping up every time we asked around for standout birthday venues in Toronto. 

When we checked it out, we weren’t surprised! It impresses with its multi-level space with 5,000 sq ft and can welcome everything from massive get-togethers (up to 350 guests) to smaller, hands-on bashes.

Their Studio A+B+C deserves a special mention, with its floor-to-ceiling windows, a built-in bar, and a jaw-dropping feature archway that ends up in everyone’s photos.

As for their AV packages, we heard plenty about how slick they are. They are also add-on bar options that really take the pressure off hosts. 

For birthdays, the setup flexibility is huge! They welcome groups up to 80 for more intimate parties, and there’s lots of room for shifting layouts.

Feedback’s been mostly glowing, with previous clients shouting out the staff for being sharp!

Just a heads up: oculars are appointment-only, and availability gets tight, especially during peak seasons. There have been a few gripes, too, about cancelled meetings without prior notice.
