Pros

  • Makes customized websites
  • Designs interactive websites
  • Doesn’t stick to one design template
  • Offers web hosting
  • Services international clients

Cons

  • Accepts a limited number of clients

Optimal Trends is pretty new to the industry as they were founded only in 2018—but they already impressed us with their skills!

Since they’re a boutique web design firm, we found they only have a limited client list. We appreciate, though, that they cater to different types of industries.

Plus, we like that they offer web design services for small or big businesses. Some clients they worked with are IG Paper Chemicals, RC Tours, and Time 4 Cleaning.

Furthermore, we were glad to learn that Optimal Trends works with clients from Toronto and across North America. In our opinion, this shows their expertise in the field as they venture into international territory!

Another aspect we admire is their approach to custom web designs. They go beyond standard templates, genuinely stepping into the shoes of their clients’ customers.

Besides that, we found it incredible that they make interactive websites—even their own site is interactive! It’s unique for us, and it can set your brand apart—it definitely catches our eyes!

It’s a bonus they offer more services to help your business, like web hosting. For us, it can give you peace of mind knowing that your website is hosted on a secure server.

Moreover, we think it’s an advantage that they offer copywriting and social media services as well. With these, they can help boost your brand’s online presence, which is much needed in today’s digital age.

An exceptional aspect that caught our attention is their forward-thinking approach, not only in their designs but also in their business practices.

Optimal Trends stands out as one of the pioneering agencies, being among the very first to accept cryptocurrency as a mode of payment. This innovative move reflects their commitment to staying at the forefront of industry trends.

What further distinguishes Optimal Trends is their dedication to supporting startups and small business owners. Offering attractive discounts tailored for these entities, they demonstrate a commitment to fostering growth within the business community.

All in all, given their service range and quality, Optimal Trends is one of our top Toronto web design firms.

Pros

  • Won multiple awards
  • Designs customized websites
  • Makes interactive websites
  • Offers website hosting
  • Provides animation services

Cons

  • Closed on weekends
  • Doesn’t offer website templates

Pixelcarve, a Toronto-based web design firm, has been around for over 20 years. For us, that shows their experience and adaptability to the changing trends.

Quite possibly, the best part is they’re an award-winning company. They have numerous accolades, which are impressive and speak about the quality of their work!

Some of their awards are the MyDesign Award in 2008, six Davey Awards from 2009 to 2013, and six Communicator Awards from 2010 to 2012. They have a lot more, showing their skills!

That shouldn’t have surprised us, considering Pixelcarve’s versatility in providing creative and custom websites for different industries. They’ve worked with Folger, Rubinoff LLP, Triovest, Bellosound, and 1451 Wellington.

We really like Pixelcarve’s services because their offerings are useful for your new website. They offer branding, video production, 3D animation, and inbound marketing.

Their animation services are also useful for interactive websites, which they make quite a lot of! Not all Toronto web design agencies offer animation, so this is a unique feature!

Furthermore, we appreciate they offer customized web designs that are user-friendly. Plus, they make responsive websites, which means anyone can view them regardless of the device.

But keep in mind that Pixelcarve doesn’t focus on using website templates. While that means you get a one-of-a-kind website, it’s isolating for clients on limited budgets.

On a positive note, we like that they offer website hosting, including maintenance with active software patches. It’s helpful if you want a more secure server instead of shared hosting.

Lastly, Pixelcarve is closed on weekends. That’s a minor downside for us because it’s not accommodating to clients with busy schedules.

Pros

  • Specializes in e-commerce websites
  • Offers digital marketing services
  • Makes mobile-friendly websites
  • Customizes websites with simple systems

Cons

  • Unavailable on weekends
  • Doesn’t focus on interactive designs

One of the things we like about Gilmedia, established in 2012, is their scope of services that can put your brand in the spotlight. That’s useful, especially for new and small businesses.

They offer web design and development, but we appreciate that they also offer digital marketing services. In our opinion, they act as a one-stop shop for giving your brand a boost!

Additionally, we like that they specialize in customized websites with simple systems. The advantage of that is you can make any necessary changes to the website once your brand expands—like adding more products!

That’s useful, in our opinion, especially for an e-commerce site—one of Gilmedia’s specializations. They make it easy for consumers to browse catalogues for stress-free shopping!

Plus, we like Gilmedia for prioritizing mobile-friendly web designs. Most people are on their phones these days, and that’s why having a website that’s accessible on any device is an advantage!

However, we notice they don’t primarily make interactive web designs. They stick to a user-friendly format, and while that’s good, some may prefer more user interaction on their sites.

As for their portfolio, we were glad they cater to various industries, from financial institutions to auto body shops. Some clients include Toronto Water Bikes, Finders Keepers Candy, Bamiyan Silver, and Loan Ridge.

Sadly, Gilmedia is unavailable for weekend appointments. That’s not convenient for busy Torontonians.

Pros

  • An award-winning web design firm
  • Offers custom and WordPress websites
  • Provides web hosting service
  • Makes user-friendly designs

Cons

  • Closed on weekends

Another Toronto web design company on our list is Eggs Media. They are a one-stop destination for your business, which is something we approve of!

Eggs Media has earned recognition in the field, which impressed us. They won the 2017 and 2021 Clutch Top Web Designers in Canada and the 2019 UpCity Excellence Awards.

We like that they work with different types of businesses, from real estate to healthcare. It’s worth mentioning that they also focus on helping small businesses!

Besides web design, they offer web development and hosting, SEO services, and ongoing support. We were glad to learn that Eggs Media can be with you every step of the way.

It’s worth mentioning their designs are user-friendly. We found their web projects easy to navigate, which we feel results in a smooth user experience!

Plus, Eggs Media creates websites that are responsive on any screen size and device! Your brand’s target audience can visit your site anytime, anywhere!

Notably, they make custom websites and WordPress themes. For us, these choices benefit clients with tight budgets, especially new businesses, since WordPress templates tend to be more affordable.

Another aspect we like about Eggs Media is their web hosting service, which they offer in three tiers for different needs. They all have 24/7 email support, which is an advantage in case of problems!

But Eggs Media doesn’t offer their regular services on weekends. That’s a bit of an issue if you have a packed schedule.

Pros

  • Open every day
  • Specializes in e-commerce sites
  • Works on different e-commerce platforms
  • Designs custom websites

Cons

  • Doesn’t specialize in interactive designs

Earning a spot on our list is Web Sharx, offering a wide range of services to Toronto and the GTA! We see their wide client reach as a definite advantage!

For us, their many services can definitely help many clients, especially small businesses that need to reach more audiences. That benefits the local community, in our opinion!

Speaking of clients, they’ve designed websites for MedProDirect, West End Homes, TFS Capital Group, and Young Minds Montessori. Clearly, they can adapt to different industries—convenient!

Web Sharx offers web design, graphic design, and internet marketing. We like how they provide complete solutions to brands, especially if you’re just starting because they offer logo design!

One of the things we like is they make custom websites. It’s a good choice if you want to expand in the future, and you can have a one-of-a-kind website.

But we did notice they don’t particularly make interactive websites. For us, having this as an option can encourage visitors to return due to the fun and unique website.

Looking on the bright side, we like their focus on functional e-commerce sites. They make it practical so it’s easier for consumers to filter search results when looking for specific products.

Furthermore, we like they work on different platforms so you can choose your preferred one. They design on Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, and PrestaShop.

Finally, Web Sharx is open every single day! It’s a feature that sets them apart from other web design firms in Toronto!
