Pros
- Fewer treatments needed to achieve results
- Open everyday
Cons
- Numbing cream discount only applies to online purchases
- Only one laser technology available
- Affordable
Flash Tattoo Removal is the only clinic in Calgary that specialises specifically in tattoo removal. They work on the removal of body, brow, and Scalp Micropigmentation ink (SMP).
They use one laser treatment, which is PicoWay. It is currently the only laser that has three wavelengths in one laser system, which means it can treat the widest range of ink colours and types.
Because PicoWay has a photoacoustic effect, this minimises the risk of the surrounding tissue getting damaged. This means it will only stay on the ink pigment.
Their cover-ups only take an average of 1-5 sessions, while full removals will require an average of 6-8 sessions with a minimum of 6-8 weeks between treatments.
PicoWay has shorter sessions and a quicker healing time than other laser treatments. So, for those needing a quick removal, we highly recommend heading to this clinic.
While we appreciate that PicoWay is their technology of choice, we just wish that they would offer more treatment options for clients who want to be able to have more than one option to choose from.
On a brighter note, they regularly offer discounts through their Facebook page for those looking for a great deal. They also offer free consultations, which we think patients with an aversion to medical procedures may appreciate as it’s an opportunity to ask all their questions.
Prices start at $125 per treatment, which is pretty inexpensive compared to other clinics in Calgary.
To minimise pain, they partnered with EFFN tattoo numbing cream, priced at $59 each. You can avail of it with a 10% discount code – do note, however, that this discount is only available for online purchases.

Pros
- Free removal of gang or hate tattoos
- Expertise in the tattooing business
Cons
- Removal process will take longer
- Higher cost per session
Tribal Expression is a piercing, scarification, and branding shop. While tattoo removals is one of their services, they have been in the tattooing and piercing business for over 19 years, which tells us that they definitely know what they’re doing.
They use two kinds of Q-switched laser technology, which is considered the gold standard for tattoo removal. Q-switched 532 nm is primarily used for red and orange pigments, while Q-switched Nd:YAG 1064 nm is for darker skin types.
For this technique an average of 10-15 sessions is usually required. This comes with a healing time of 6-8 weeks between each treatment, which adds up to quite a long period of back-and-forth – which may not appeal to some clients.
For instance, a bigger tattoo can take more than a year to completely fade and not many people may have the patience for this.
It’s worth noting that they now offer a programme for free removal of facial, gang, or hate tattoos. We think this is a noble gesture, as this affords these individuals more job opportunities.
Their minimum charge is $60 for small tattoos. But for full removal of bigger ones, the average cost will be $160-$300 per session.
While these figures don’t necessarily make one nervous at face value, the total spend after going through all those sessions implies quite a hefty investment.

Pros
- Financing option with no downpayment
- Offers virtual consultations
Cons
- More sessions required
- No options for other laser treatments
Previously called New Canvas Tattoo Removal, The Injectionist & Aesthetics boasts certified laser technicians for their tattoo removals, which instantly gives their clients peace of mind.
Their technicians use the RevLite SI laser, which breaks the ink into particles that the body will naturally get rid of in weeks. This uses four wavelengths that can break down different ink colours.
The only downside to Revlite SI laser is that more sessions – an average of 12-15 – are needed, which means more money to shell out. So, if you have a bigger tattoo, expect a higher price tag and around a year before full results.
They do offer a consultation that will provide a more accurate time frame, which can help manage a patient’s expectations.
We love that they offer a virtual consultation that can be done with a 5-minute curated panel to help design a custom plan for their client. This will provide them with a better understanding of the treatment they’re looking at getting, and whether it really is the best fit for what they need.
The minimum cost of tattoo removal is $80 per square inch and they offer a financing option via PayBright with a high approval rate. It’s great that it doesn’t require a downpayment and accepts monthly or bi-weekly payments.
We just hope that they will offer other laser treatments with shorter sessions in the future. We think 12 sessions with an average of 6 weeks in between is too long a time, given that there are clinics that offer a shorter timeframe.

Pros
- Different laser treatments available
- Certified laser technicians
Cons
- Charges a consultation fee
- Expensive starting rate
A medical aesthetics clinic, Fresh Laser Skin Studio offers laser skin tattoo removal. They have a team that is composed of certified laser technicians, which speaks volumes of their credibility and expertise.
They offer three different types of tattoo removal: cosmetic, PicoSure, and Enlighten. We like that clients are able to enjoy more than one option.
Also noteworthy is that they house the world’s first and only 755nm picosecond laser on the market today. PicoSure shatters ink particles without affecting the surrounding tissue, unlike other techniques can damage the surrounding skin after multiple sessions.
It’s also worth noting that technicians will still analyse your tattoo after every session. This is so the laser parameters can be customised and adjusted based on your results.
They charge $15-$25 per square inch and a minimum of $200 per treatment. Compared to other clinics on our list, this is relatively expensive.
Note, however, that they don’t offer free consultations. There is a non-refundable fee of $15 per consultation.
On the bright side, this fee can be credited to any service booked within 3 months.

Pros
- Free radiation tattoo removal for breast cancer survivors
- No extra cost for coloured tattoos
- Cooling air during sessions
Cons
- Offers only 1 type of laser treatment
- Expensive for larger tattoos
Skinpossible Laser and Light Solutions is a private full-service medical aesthetics clinic that also offers removal and fading of tattoos.
Their technicians are medical aestheticians, fully certified and trained in laser physics. With proper certifications, their clientele will feel at ease when using their services.
They give pre- and post-treatment instructions, which helps patients prepare and recover well. It’s also great that they follow up with aftercare via phone or ask you to visit the clinic to check the results of your treatment.
Skinpossible uses PicoSure laser technology. While some tattoos have come off in one treatment, a minimum of 3-5 treatments are still required for medium-sized ones.
Larger tattoos will generally need a longer time and more treatments. At $125 per session, this will rack up over time, resulting in a higher total price.
The good news is that they do offer a financing plan through MediCard. It’s also worth mentioning that there is no extra cost for coloured tattoos.
We’d like you to know that they offer radiation tattoo removal for breast cancer survivors, which is admirable. This is for the small markings used to pinpoint the area for more accurate treatment.
Aside from offering numbing creams, they also dispense cooling air during the tattoo removal process. This is incredibly helpful because cool air can ease discomfort during the session.
Getting a tattoo removed can be nerve-wracking for some patients That’s why we love the consideration that this clinic gives its clients from pre-treatment to aftercare.
