Pros
- Open every day
- Has a wide client reach
- Offers fair pricing
- Known for insightfulness
Cons
- No in-person sessions
Wellspring Counselling provides psychotherapy services and individual and couples counselling services. Their expertise in the field is one of the things that made an impression on us.
Another aspect that caught our attention is that they treat a wide array of issues, including anger problems, self-esteem, trauma, anxiety, and depression. In our opinion, their experience with different problems helps them cater to various types of individuals.
Their psychotherapists are highly experienced in different types of counselling approaches, which we commend as it shows their adaptability. They even cater to individuals and couples, which definitely widens their client reach.
Speaking of client reach, they serve Metro Vancouver, other cities in BC, and even other provinces in Canada. Not many psychotherapists in Vancouver have vast coverage areas, so we really like this aspect.
It’s saddening, though, that they don’t currently accept in-person appointments since their psychotherapy sessions are done virtually. We think this may deter older people from consulting with them.
On the other hand, we really like that they take appointments any day of the week! The virtual setup is also very accessible for those who aren’t technologically challenged.
But our favourite part about Wellness Counselling is the compassion they have shown to their clients, which created a welcoming environment. Their counsellors were incredibly insightful and respectful—a common praise we noted in our surveys.
We also like that their rates are within the fair range in Vancouver, starting at $150 for individual counselling. They have free consultations, too, which we suggest for first-time clients!

Pros
- Open daily
- Has ongoing skill enhancement
- Has a large team
- Offers low-cost counselling
Cons
- No easy online booking system
- Office only accepts queries on weekdays
Clear Counselling doesn’t have a limited schedule, which we find beneficial for busy clients. They’re open every single day, earning them points for availability.
One of the things we commend is their ongoing skill enhancement. Their team consistently undergoes sex therapy training, which makes them stand out, as not all Vancouver psychotherapists offer sex counselling.
In addition, we were impressed with their vast areas of expertise, including men’s and women’s issues, anger management, parenting, and porn and fetish problems.
Moreover, their expertise shows us that they are flexible in dealing with various types of individuals and couples—an important factor for psychotherapists. Some of their treatment areas are anger management, anxiety, gaslighting, and abandonment.
It greatly helps that they have a large team as well, especially compared to other psychotherapy services in Vancouver. We also find it convenient that they have male and female psychotherapists, allowing you to choose who you’re most comfortable with.
Notably, they have a practicum program, which is a low-cost counselling option from their internship depth psychology training. They offer this not only for couples but also for individuals and families—really helpful, in our opinion!
However, arranging a session with them proves somewhat challenging due to the absence of an online booking system. Furthermore, appointments can only be scheduled by contacting them on weekdays.

Pros
- Offers in-person and online sessions
- More affordable prices
Cons
- Limited coverage area
- No quick booking system
One of our favourite aspects of Sana counselling is their integrated approach. We really admire them for recognizing the connection between physical illness and mental well-being.
We really like their team of counsellors because of their expertise in different approaches. Each member possesses a unique specialization, which proves highly beneficial.
Moreover, their areas of specialization are pretty vast, such as anxiety, adult and childhood trauma, addictions, and depression. These allow their psychotherapists to work with different kinds of individuals.
We want to mention their team’s welcoming demeanour, which we believe fosters a sense of security for their clients throughout the entire session. A big positive!
A downside, however, is their limited coverage area. Unlike other psychotherapists in the city, they only accept clients living or moving to BC in the near future.
On a positive note, they offer in-person and online counselling. The options are flexible for clients, whether they want to stay home or brave the Vancouver traffic.
However, we would like to see an easy booking system to minimize back-and-forth emails. Currently, they only accept online bookings for their 15-minute complimentary consultations—the free is a plus, though!
Price-wise, we were impressed! Their individual counselling sessions cost $155 for 50 minutes, while couples counselling is $190 for 60 minutes—pretty reasonable than others!

Pros
- Reasonably priced
- Offers emergency counselling
- No fee for first 30-minute cancellation
- Provides suicide counselling
Cons
- Limited availability
- No easy booking system
Aarintaro Counselling is headed by Nola Johnson, who independently runs her clinic in Vancouver. For us, that speaks about her dedication to the field.
While we appreciate her dedication, it does limit her availability (she’s closed on Sundays, too). Compared to other psychotherapists in Vancouver, she can only accept a limited number of clients.
On a good note, we were pleasantly surprised at her inexpensive rates because individuals from different walks of life can afford her. She only charges $50 for a 60-minute individual counselling session and $75 for couples for 90 minutes.
Additionally, we commend her for not charging her clients for the first 30 minutes should they choose to cancel the session. For us, the no-obligation appointment helps clients if they find her suitable as their psychotherapist.
Another facet that garners our admiration is her emergency services. She offers free consultations in instances where clients find themselves overwhelmed between scheduled sessions.
Her areas of specialization are pretty vast, which include trauma, PTSD, anger management, phobias, grief and loss, and self-esteem issues. We also applaud her for providing suicide counselling, which we understand is a heavy burden to carry.
A minor issue we have is the lack of an easy booking system, which can reduce back-and-forth communication. The good thing is that Aarintaro Counselling conveniently provides in-person and virtual sessions.
5. ARC: Anxiety Relief Centre

Pros
- Accepts sessions daily
- Wide client reach
- Offers in-person, virtual, and phone sessions
- Provides 30-minute consultations
Cons
- Limited male psychotherapists available
- Some counsellors not accepting new clients
One of our favoured things about ARC: Anxiety Relief Centre is their province-wide accessibility. They cater to Vancouver and other cities in BC!
Aside from that, they also accept counselling sessions any day of the week. We also appreciate their long operating hours, allowing clients with tight work schedules to get counselling.
They primarily specialize in addressing anxiety and mood issues stemming from trauma, relationship challenges, stress, and grief. But the good thing is they also see clients struggling with PTSD, abuse, depression, and panic.
Additionally, we do appreciate that they offer in-person, phone, and virtual counselling. We find these options highly beneficial, mainly since they are located in Downtown Vancouver—we all know how bad rush hour traffic gets there.
Plus, we commend them for providing 30-minute free consultations. It’s a pretty long session since most psychotherapists in Vancouver offer 10 to 15 minutes only.
Also, we find their psychotherapy sessions within the reasonable range, starting at $165 for a 50-minute individual therapy. But it’s important to note that the rates will vary depending on the psychotherapist’s credentials.
A minor downside is despite a pretty large team (compared to other counselling services in Vancouver), they don’t have a lot of male psychotherapists available. Some of their counsellors are also not currently accepting new clients, unfortunately.
