Dr Mina Morcos from Montreal Hip & Knee Private Surgical Clinic is a reliable specialist if you need hip or knee replacement or arthroscopy. He has fellowships in complex reconstruction and trauma surgery, so he’s well-versed with failed implants or complicated joint problems. 

Given how sensitive these types of procedures are, we like that his clinic uses robotic navigation, 3D planning, and sub-millimetre precision implants for better joint alignment, fewer complications, and faster recovery. 

Speaking of recovery, we have to give them props for having a defined post-surgery, 5-step recovery system, which is basically a method to accelerate healing. 

And from what we’ve seen, many patients have been discharged in 24-48 hours after joint replacement, and many walk the same day, too. This is a big plus, lowering the overall burden—the faster you go home, the lower your bill.

As for wait times, you can expect your consultation to be scheduled within two weeks, a far cry from the 12-18 months common in the public system. But their doors are closed on weekends, so plan your schedule accordingly.

Dr Adam Hart has strong academic credentials (MD, BEng, MSc, FRCSC), completed a prestigious fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, and is an assistant professor of surgery at McGill University. 

He specializes in both primary and revision hip and knee replacements. We like that he uses minimally invasive techniques since they often mean less tissue damage, faster recovery, and a potentially shorter hospital stay.

Their ROSA robotic system is another advantage, especially for implant positioning and improving accuracy. If you go for this option, it might help reduce recovery time.

On that note, we love that their surgeries include two days and nights at the centre. You won’t be left alone; plus, you’ll even get assigned a dedicated nurse who remains available after surgery. 

The catch? Well, all the perks and inclusions from the surgery come with a hefty price, and pre-op consultations and tests aren’t included in those prices. 

Here’s the silver lining: if you meet certain criteria, you can have a same-day discharge and be charged $2,500 less than the fixed procedure price.

Besides his usual 8 to 5, Dr Marc Beauchamp is also a researcher, speaker, and academic, making him a well-rounded and experienced orthopedic surgeon. 

We found that he has a knack for handling the upper extremities. So, say you have a shoulder or elbow injury like a rotator cuff tear, dislocation, or tendon issues; you can rely on him to take care of it efficiently. 

It’s also worth noting that his clinic emphasizes using advanced, least invasive techniques for operations, which puts less stress on your tissues and means less post-op discomfort. 

Another thing that stood out to us is his use of ultrasound guidance to boost precision for injections or diagnostic evaluation—removing guesswork from the picture and improving overall safety.

You’ll have to prepare your wallets, though. As much as we love that their fees are upfront and clear on their website, we did note that some surgeries are more costly than at other clinics. 

But hey, with over 9,000 successful procedures in his bag, we believe his services and expertise are well worth the investment.

The unique thing about Dr Marie Gdalevitch from CLLC Montreal is that she specializes in limb lengthening and deformity correction. 

If you’re dealing with complex limb discrepancies, need adjustments, are correcting asymmetries, or want a cosmetic lengthening, then she’s a reliable orthopedic surgeon for the job.

What we love most is that they treat both pediatric and adult patients. This is a game-changer for families where kids have congenital or growth deformities, as well as adults with acquired discrepancies or wanting cosmetic height. 

And if you’re wondering how the lengthening works and looks while recovery, we’re glad that she uses intramedullary nails instead of those older external fixators. The internal nails are less bulky, more comfy, and allow more movement during the lengthening process.

But with great precision and specialization comes greater prices. Their rates and fees are on the higher end, and you can expect to incur additional fees for other pre- and post-op tests or steps.

On the bright side, we can’t deny their successful results and recovery process, especially with how they continue their care and support after the operation.
