When it comes to body tension, Rob Brown doesn’t muck about. He’s a massage therapist in Montreal with thousands of hours of training and has a fitness instructor and personal training background. Basically, he’s well-equipped in body mechanics!
His expertise comes in handy, considering his clients are all men, since he can apply deeper pressure. We’re not just assuming that, because from our experience, he knew what areas to treat, and there’s an intentional pressure that zeroes in on problem areas.
Service-wise, he offers a variety for injury-related zones, muscle tightness, limited mobility, and relaxation. Impressively, there’s one for every need, like sports, deep tissue, trigger point, and cupping massage.
The massage studio deserves a mention. It’s cosy, calm, and clean—exactly what a massage place should be.
He doesn’t have weekend hours, though. Nonetheless, he’s the kind of massage therapist who doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, even with a really good technique, starting at $125 for a 60-minute session—and he doesn’t accept tips!
Great experience overall
“I just had my first massage with Rob… great experience overall. The location is convenient, clean and calm. The actual massage studio is also very clean and relaxing with a comfortable solid table. The products he uses feel just right, not too oily or greasy and fragrance free. The quality of the massage was also very good, great pressure (intense but I could feel he was paying attention and responsive to my breathing ) and good techniques… he knows what he is doing. I highly recommend Rob.”

Has a great way of mixing pressure
“I can’t recommend Rob enough! From the moment I walked in, he made me feel comfortable and at ease. His professionalism, skill, and attention to detail are truly outstanding. Rob has a great way of mixing pressure — firm when needed— making the massage both effective and relaxing. His deep tissue work was incredible, releasing so much tension. It was also so easy to communicate with him and set up an appointment, which made the whole experience even smoother. I left feeling lighter, more relaxed, and pain-free. Montreal is lucky to have such a dedicated and talented RMT!”

When we think of relaxing massages, Spa Centrale Parc is one of our top picks. They have a large team, which makes it easy to book a slot, and also because they’re open daily.
As far as services go, they offer a good variety. There’s a Swedish massage to increase blood flow, an aroma massage while smelling Montreal-made botanical oils, and cranial therapy to reduce stress.
Plus, they offer specialised treatments, like fasciatherapy and kinesitherapy. All in all, they’re very accessible.
A highlight is their ritual services, which include a massage and various calming sessions. These aren’t the most affordable, however, as some therapies can cost over $200.
The atmosphere was right on the nose. Once you enter, you’ll be greeted by a relaxing ambience, with wooden walls and greenery, and a completely serene feel.
The experience? Incredible. From what we’ve seen, their massage therapists knew the right techniques, and the addition of aromatherapy was a nice addition for an overall relaxing experience.
The atmosphere of the spa was fabulous
“My fiancé and I had a 2hr couples massage today by Samantha and Eleonore and we left feeling truly like we were on another planet. Eleonore paid close attention to the areas I needed help with and loosened everything expertly! The atmosphere of the spa itself was also fabulous – so modern, clean, and soothing. Absolutely planning on coming back!”

We were pleased with Aliyah Massage because of their experienced team, who are trained in massaging for different kinds of injuries, such as acute, sub-acute, and chronic.
When you look at their offerings, it’s clear that they’re all about massage therapy rehabilitation. Their services aren’t solely about relaxation, as they offer rehabilitation, deep tissue, prenatal, and sports therapy massages.
It’s worth noting that they also offer specialised treatments, like myofascial release therapy and lymphatic drainage, which ups their rating for us. And when you check their techniques, you’ll be pleased because they know when to add deeper pressure.
However, their availability isn’t the best. There’s sometimes a week’s wait for an opening, even more so when you want to book a specialised treatment. Even when they’re open daily, they still get fully booked.
But with their affordable pricing, costing $110 for a 1-hour session, they’re worth the wait. You can even book a 30-minute massage if you want to check them out without spending over a hundred.
Truly understand my body like magic
“I’ve never had a better massage! I’ve seen two of the therapists there and both truly understand the body like magic! It’s been a real pleasure to have my needs understood and met by this team. I will definitely keep going back again and again.”

Quality of the massage is outstanding
“I have been a long time client. The quality of massage is outstanding. The therapist Daniel has esp when it comes to recognizing muscle and joint specific issues. You will feel yourself again and your body back to where it should be !”

Wellness Prive takes massage therapy seriously. Let’s start with their studio, which is clean, well-maintained, and has a calming environment, which is exactly what we want during a massage.
Their services earn a big thumbs up, since they provide in-studio and at-home massages. The variety is worth mentioning too, offering cupping, prenatal, deep tissue, and more.
A service that first caught our attention is their TMJ massage, which helps reduce the tension in the jaw and joints. It’s a good approach to address symptoms of TMJ dysfunctions, which not all massage therapists in Montreal offer.
The spotlight also goes to their anxiety and stress management program, a unique offering that will help you cope by using a mix of massage and meditation. This has a tailored approach, ensuring that each client will receive the right plan.
The catch is their pricey rates, reaching $140 per 1-hour massage session. Then again, they’re worth every loonie because, from our experience, they can relieve pain after a session.
Very informative on the cause and effective treatments of TMJ
“I had a TMJ pain that lasted for few months and I was so relieved and happy that I was channelled to a TMJ massage therapist…Ness! He was very informative on the cause and effective treatments. I followed his guidance and I was pain free in a few sessions. I highly recommend it.
Thank you Ness for the amazing treatment!”

Therapeutic and deeply relaxing
“I had an amazing experience at [wellness privee ]. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was calm, welcoming, and relaxing. The therapist was professional, attentive, and really listened to my needs. The massage itself was both therapeutic and deeply relaxing — I left feeling refreshed, tension-free, and completely recharged.”

Spa Ovarium is a very accessible massage therapy service here in Montreal, as they’re open seven days a week and offer a bunch of services, from facial care to massages. They’re the kind of service that specialises in relaxation and meditation.
Part of their accessibility is that they accept adults and children as young as 8, as well as expectant mothers, through their prenatal massages. Conveniently, duo massages are also available, and not just for couples, but for a parent and a child.
One service that we particularly like is the floatation bath, which you can get as part of a massage package for a complete muscle tension release and relaxation experience.
The experience hasn’t been smooth sailing, though. Based on our surveys, some massage therapists weren’t exactly able to provide the right pressure, but they do have a large team of male and female massage therapists to choose from.
Parking can be tough on busy days, but it’s worth it if relaxation is your main goal.
A great experience
“Everytime we come to Spa Ovarium it’s a great experience. This time I had Jeffrey as a massotherapist he targets pressure points to release muscle tension and pain. My husband also enjoyed his massage with his therapist. Thank you again for the great service.”

Place is quite relaxing and calming
“Had a great experience. We had a very nice duo massage. The place is quite relaxing and calming. Loved the different little rooms where we can just sit there and enjoy the present moment. 🧘🏻♀️🧘🏼 I sure need to do this more often. 😊 I thought it was quite neat how they’ve utilized all the spaces especially the Relax O Lab sensory room. The building used to be an old bank and the Relax O Lab room is in the old vault.”
