Pros

  • CPSM certified
  • Offers many hair loss treatments
  • Has a financing option
  • Surgeon will perform the procedure

Cons

  • Closed on weekends
  • Some complaints about customer service

Located on Grant Avenue, The First Glance Aesthetic Clinic offers many treatments besides hair transplant. It’s an aspect we like due to the many offerings for different types of clients.

We like their experience as well, operating in Winnipeg for over 25 years! On top of that, they have served patients from other Canadian provinces!

Notably, they have the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba (CPSM) certification. They are one of the few that’s a non-hospital medical facility.

For us, that accreditation is important as it means they hold high standards for patient care. That includes meeting the standards for equipment, facility, and safety procedures!

Additionally, they have state-of-the-art equipment and the latest technology for all their services. That earns them another point from us!

Their specialization is in Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). That earns a mention because it’s a minimally invasive procedure and usually has a fast recovery!

Even better, an actual surgeon will perform the FUE procedure—this is definitely something we approve of! Plus, the NeoGraft technique (the method for FUE) has a minimal risk of infection.

We also like that The First Glance offers financing for patients with tight budgets. It’s helpful since you can choose flexible monthly payments!

The downside we found is they are unavailable on weekends. In our books, this isn’t good news for busy individuals.

We were also disappointed to hear some complaints about customer service, particularly in communication. The good news is we’ve seen some improvement since then!

Pros

  • Provides a variety of hair loss treatments
  • Uses the latest technologies
  • Has a financing option
  • Performed by a plastic surgeon

Cons

  • Some reports of slow response time
  • Some instances of long waiting times

Visage Cosmetic Clinic is located on Lorimer Boulevard. They have a pretty big facility, which pleasantly surprised us!

Their offerings surprised us again, in a good way, of course! Besides hair loss services, we like that they offer other plastic surgery solutions.

On top of that, we appreciate them for providing flexible financing options for patients. It helps those with limited budgets!

They specialize in SmartGraft hair transplants, a form of FUE hair restoration. The advantage of this is that it has no visible scarring and provides a natural look—nice!

Plus, we like that they offer other procedures for those unsure about FUE. One is PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma), a treatment that can stimulate hair growth.

Another hair loss treatment they offer is scalp micropigmentation, which can hide thinning areas. The advantage of this is there are no cuts or stitches needed!

As for their technology, we commend them for using the latest technologies. Their equipment can also provide a better assessment of the face to help the surgeon give a better analysis!

Hair transplants are performed by Dr. Ali Esmail, Visage Cosmetic Clinic’s plastic surgeon. He even trained in Miami, Florida, under Dr. Jeffrey Epstein, a renowned hair transplant surgeon.

Although we like Visage Cosmetic Clinic, the drawback is their poor response time. Some patients mentioned they didn’t receive an immediate response after contacting the clinic.

We also saw reports of long waiting times despite having an appointment. It doesn’t seem to happen often, though!

Pros

  • 4x Consumer Choice Award winner
  • Offers various hair loss treatments
  • Performed by a hair restoration surgeon
  • ISHRS member

Cons

  • Closed on weekends

What we like about Pinette Hair Restoration Clinic is it acts as a one-stop destination for hair loss problems. It’s because they specialize solely in hair loss treatments!

Impressively, they won the 2023 Consumer Choice Award in Winnipeg. What’s even better is they were chosen four times already!

Another notable aspect is they have a hair restoration surgeon on board, along with transplant technicians. Their surgeon, Dr. Gilles Pinette, is an associate member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS).

Furthermore, the ISHRS is a global non-profit medical association. The membership entails the highest standards of practice and care in medical hair restoration—we absolutely approve!

Since they specialize in hair loss, they offer various treatments. In our opinion, this allows their patients to choose which is best for their hair problems.

Moreover, they use the latest technology and equipment! As a result, they can conduct safe and effective micro-grafting techniques for hair transplants—another thing we approve of!

Additionally, they offer PRP treatments. It’s ideal for those who want to stimulate hair regrowth!

That’s not all. We like that they offer treatments that won’t require incisions. One of which is oral and topical medications to reduce hair loss.

Another is LaserCap, a non-surgical option for hair growth. The catch is it’s a portable device to put on your head. Basically, it’s a cap!

A minor issue is Pinette Hair Restoration Clinic doesn’t take weekend appointments. That’s a bummer if you work on weekdays.

Pros

  • Accessible location
  • Non-invasive service
  • Matches the ink to the hair colour

Cons

  • Only one hair loss treatment
  • Only open four days a week

Scalp Enhancement Winnipeg has been in business since 2016. Their location on Marion Street makes them pretty accessible for commuters.

They specialize in Scalp micropigmentation, which can cover bald spots. The advantage of getting this is you don’t have to undergo incisions!

Moreover, it’s a non-invasive treatment, also known as a hair tattoo. We like that it benefits individuals who are still on the fence about undergoing a procedure.

Plus, it’s not as invasive as having an actual tattoo because it uses a different type of needle. While pain tolerance will vary per individual, most clients we conversed with said it didn’t hurt much!

The disadvantage of scalp micropigmentation, however, is you won’t see actual hair growth. But it does create the illusion of fuller hair, which both men and women can benefit from.

Looking on the bright side, they can customize their ink to match your hair colour. It doesn’t matter if you’re blonde or brunette, they can match the colour!

Another downside of Scalp Enhancement Winnipeg is their limitations. They only have one service currently, which is scalp micropigmentation.

You should also know that they are open only four days a week. The upside is they accept Sunday appointments, which is beneficial for working Winnipeggers.

Pros

  • Strict sanitation process
  • Specializes in non-invasive treatment

Cons

  • Only one service available

Winnipeg Scalp Micropigmentation is located along Torrington Road. They have a private studio, which provides privacy for all hair loss patients.

We commend them for ensuring that their studio is clean. After every client, they sanitize and sterilize the whole place—an aspect we approve of!

In addition, we appreciate them for adding a three-stage filtration system. It helps keep their studio sanitized and bacteria-free, which is good for everyone!

True to their name, they specialize in scalp micropigmentation. The downside to that is the limited services since it doesn’t promote hair growth.

The upside is there’s no need for cuts and stitches since there’s no need to undergo surgery. It’s non-invasive with a fast healing time—seven to ten days!

Furthermore, you can choose if you want a shaved look, which can lessen the appearance of balding. We also like scalp micropigmentation for covering scars on your head—it totally conceals the scar!

We appreciate that the owner, Tammy, has over two decades of experience in the field of cosmetic tattoos and esthetics. Her skills in scalp micropigmentation definitely help make it look like real hair!

The last thing we appreciate is their availability. Their studio is open six days a week—good for busy bees!
