One of the best dog-friendly places to visit in Edmonton is the aptly-named Dogpatch. The patio has a decent size, welcoming pups of all sizes, so don’t be surprised to see a lot of dogs!
Puppy parents can enjoy the laid-back atmosphere with a pint in hand—but the mimosa is always a delicious option. The menu is full of happy hour meals, like the yummy fried halloumi poutine, which has hand-cut fries topped with fried halloumi cheese.
This spot also supports the local community and any bread you get is ordered fresh from the Bread+Butter bakery next door. So, do try the yummy and soft sandwiches, which have vegan and vegetarian options.
Pro Tip:
Try visiting on a Monday to get $5 off the Mimosa Flights. It includes four 2.5 oz samples of mimosas, which is regularly priced at $18.

If you have a well-mannered canine, then head over to Alley Kat Brewing Company! This place is tucked away in 99th Street for an all-around good beer, great conversations, and grand times with your pup!
All pups are welcome here, regardless of size. The taproom has a patio that’s large enough to accommodate many dogs basking under the sun, all while the owners are enjoying a glass of cold, premium beer.
The best part is that dogs are welcome inside the taproom, just as long as they’re well-behaved to keep the peace. And hey, your pup can even make new friends and meet the Kat Krew dogs.
Pro Tip:
Keep an eye out on their socials and catch food trucks parked outside the taproom (mostly in the summertime). Alley Kat also hosts events you can join to win a prize!
Biera

Operating Hours:
- Monday: Closed

- Saturday: 10:00 am – 10:00 pm
- Sunday: 10:00 am – 9:00 pm
Price Range: $16 – $124
At Ritchie Market, you can head over to Biera after a long walk in the park. There’s a covered patio for humans and for our furry friends, there’s an extended one with umbrellas.
Some rules if you’re bringing your pup: make sure they’re updated with their vaccinations, always keep them on a leash, and don’t leave them alone on the patio. Also, dogs can only enter at the extended patio, which is just beside the bike racks.
Now that you’re all settled in, you can order the rich and scrumptious beef tartare with a side of sourdough toast. There’s also a nice selection of local brews to sip on a sunny afternoon.
Pro Tip:
Weekends at Biera can be busy, and unfortunately, they don’t take reservations during these days unless you’re coming with a group of five or more. So, head early if you want a table with your dog on the patio!

Price Range: $12 – $30
If you’re walking along Whyte Avenue, make sure your dog is well-mannered when around other animals. The DaDeO patio is pet-friendly, and that includes cats and bunnies!
That’s not the only good thing about this place, though. The meals are absolutely irresistible, especially the famous Po’Boys sandwiches, which come with different meat choices (we love the crab cake option with a side of veggie jambalaya).
Check out the Alley Kay Chili Lager, a spicy but refreshing drink that pairs well with their Po’Boys. So, mark your summer calendar and visit once the patio opens!
Pro Tip:
If you’re visiting, just bring your dog and leave the kids at home because DaDeO is an adult-only restaurant. Not that kind, though, but more of a diner and bar spot where most tables will probably have a glass of alcoholic drink.

Pro Tip:
The patio is only available from late May to mid-September. There aren’t a lot of seats available, and since there’s no reservation for the patio, you may want to visit on a weekday to get a table with your pup.

There’s a grassy area as well, which is perfect for dogs to play around in or lie down while basking under the sun. In the summer, there’s live music to enjoy while dining in the outdoor area and there’s a winter patio to keep everyone warm!
The food is not to be missed, especially the Poutine Bicyclette, which includes squeaky cheese curds from Old School Cheesery. Also, don’t skip out on the strong and rich lattes—the matcha dulcé de leche and the chai latte are our favourites!

In the Ice District, humans and their four-legged friends can enjoy an afternoon at Campio Brewing Co., which has a large patio to welcome dogs of all sizes. Don’t be surprised to see many pups on weekends, especially during happy hour.
This beer spot is so dog-friendly that there are toys in the shape of beer cans available to purchase in-store! Humans and dogs can buy matching beer so everyone can relax under the sun.
Some foods to fill your tummy are the deep dish pizza (the PB&J is worth a try even with the pineapples) and the Korean fried chicken sandwich. When it comes to drinks, there’s plenty of beer to try, like the fruity and refreshing Tropical Pyramid Hazy IPA.
Pro Tip:
Check their Instagram page to see the event schedules. On selected Tuesdays, guests can purchase tickets to watch comedy shows.

Dog Menu Price Range: $3 – $10
A tail-wagger approved spot in Edmonton is the Rocky Mountain Icehouse, which has a dog menu! While humans are munching on Scooby Snacks (not dog treats but crispy fried potatoes), pooches can dine on bacon strips and burger patties!
Meanwhile, the dog menu includes dessert for our fur babies. Instead of a pup cup, there’s a bowl of whipped cream for $3 and a scoop of ice cream for $5.
But the best part is the patio is open year-round (yup, even in winter). Don’t worry because doggies and their humans won’t freeze since there’s a heated patio to keep everyone warm—talk about fancy!
Pro Tips:
Be on the lookout for fundraisers and campaigns you can support because Rocky Mountain Icehouse supports animal rescue groups. Now, that’s certainly pup-approved!
Save money on Tuesdays because all domestic pints are $2 off and the Taster Flights of Draught get $8 off. Then, Fridays are all about music and booze with rotating drinks and a live DJ.

- Sunday: 10:00 am – 2:00 pm (brunch menu only)

Three Vikings at Imagen Media House Inc. is not your typical Danish pub because it also serves British classics that will make you feel like you’re not in Alberta anymore. Try the beer-battered fish and chips, which go smoothly with a cold glass of Guinness.
Sundays are for brunch, so bring your dog to the patio after exercising those legs. The classic Viking breakfast is a popular choice on the menu because it’s very filling.
This spot not only welcomes dogs but loves and cares for dogs! The staff happily put out water bowls to keep our furry friends hydrated while the humans are happily dining!
Pro Tip:
Don’t miss out on trying the daily specials on the menu to get the best value for your money. They put out seasonal food and drinks for everyone to enjoy!

If you’re in the mood for a cozy and homey ambience, you might want to stop by Little Brick. Tucked in the quiet community of Riverdale, this cafe earns a stamp of approval from our pups for a quick meal after walking in the neighbourhood.
The patio is spacious, with plenty of seating, welcoming dogs of all sizes. It’s gorgeous during the summer, as it’s the perfect spot to soak up the sun, which then turns into a heated patio to keep guests comfortable in the winter.
No one will be disappointed here because the food is scrumptious! The breakfast sandwich with bacon is a particular favourite of ours, paired with a cup of London Fog.
Pro Tip:
Drop by the General Store, just beside the cafe (it’s in the same lot, so you can’t miss it!). You can purchase Canadian-made products to support the local community!
