Pros

  • Features an impressive collection of watches
  • Offers in-house repairs
  • Features live chat on their website

Cons

  • Limited operating hours
  • Only offers luxury brands

Johny Watches is a store that we already had our eyes on before we even started listing down some candidates for this list. This is because it’s one of the most famous watch stores in Toronto for aficionados who love collecting luxury brands.

This store features one of the most impressive collections we’ve seen in Hogtown, boasting brands like Omega, Cartier and Rolex. Moreover, they offer huge selections underneath each brand, ranging from pre-owned to brand-new units.

We also appreciate how they offer in-house repair services, which are done by one of their talented staff members. Moreover, they’ve been around for more than 20 years, which leads us to believe that they’re more than qualified to do these kinds of repairs.

Although, as much as we love their wide selection of luxury watches, it would’ve been nice if they offered entry-level brands as well. The only brand they offer that can be considered “affordable” is G-Shock.

We felt that this aspect could limit them from catering to other customers who aren’t necessarily looking to spend thousands of dollars.

Furthermore, we felt that their operating hours are a bit limited, as they’re only open from 12 noon until 6:00 PM (5:00 PM on Saturdays) and they’re closed on Sundays, leaving less time for watch aficionados to shop on weekends.

Pros

  • Features a wide variety of luxury brands
  • Offers bespoke and restoration services

Cons

  • Limited operating hours
  • Lack of entry-level brands

In our books, Sun Time Luxury definitely lives up to its name, as it houses one of the most impressive collections of high-end watches in Toronto. They cater both to ladies and men, offering brands such as Cartier, Patek Philippe, Frank Muller and Rolex.

Aside from their luxury watches, however, one of the reasons why this shop stood out to us was its restoration and maintenance service.

We can see this being appreciated by those who have grown sentimental with one of their watches or those who have elite models that can’t be replaced. Plus, it makes an old watch look like it’s just been taken off the box.

Another thing that stood out to us was their bespoke services, which allow customers to add a unique touch to their preferred timepiece. This service is done by one of their experts, Fawaz, and customers can contact them beforehand for a consultation.

We would have loved to see them carry some entry-level brands though, as some people aren’t in the market for thousand-dollar watches. However, if you’re getting something special for yourself or a loved one, this is a solid place for watch shopping.

Furthermore, we thought that they could also improve their operating hours since they open at noon and close at sunset. We can see this being frustrating to those who don’t have a lot of free time on their hands, so it’s worth noting here.

3. Watchfinder

Pros

  • Offers a wide variety of luxury brands
  • Houses an impressive collection of Rolex models
  • Offers watch accessories

Cons

  • Reports of staff lowballing sellers
  • Reports of staff stating untruthful info about their watches
  • Limited operating hours

Watchfinder immediately piqued our attention when we were doing our research because of their impressive Rolex collection. They offer both brand-new and pre-owned units, ranging from Submariners, Daytonas, Sky-Dwellers and more.

Aside from Rolexes, however, this store is beloved by Torontonians because of its wide array of luxury brands including Cartier, Franck Muller, Hublot, Omega and more.

One of the things we like about this store is that they offer regular sale items throughout the year, giving watch collectors a chance to score amazing deals. We also appreciated how they listed these sale items on their website for utmost convenience.

They also offer an assortment of watch accessories, which we thought was pretty handy. These accessories include high-quality storage, winders and watch rolls.

We also want to highlight that they offer a superb warranty term for all of their watches (except for vintage wristwatches and pocketwatches), giving clients some security when purchasing one of their exquisite timepieces.

As for the lowlights, we’ve heard reports from its past clients stating that their staff tends to lowball the prices of watches being consigned to them.

And while on the topic of their staff, we’ve also heard complaints that they tend to state untruthful info about their watches. We’re not sure if this is always the case, but we think it’s worth noting since this aspect affects the overall shopping experience.

Pros

  • Offers a wide variety of entry-level to mid-level watches
  • Accessible operating hours
  • Decades of experience

Cons

  • Lack of big-name luxury brands

Right Time is the perfect example of an affordable watch store. We immediately thought that we should include this store on this list because of their entry-level to mid-level watch collection—perfect for those who aren’t looking to spend a thousand dollars.

Right off the bat, we loved the brands that they carried in their store, from Casio to G Shock, Seiko, Tissot, Hugo Boss and more. These aren’t the most luxurious brands, but we would be lying if we said that there aren’t any fans of these brands in the world.

Another thing that we liked about this store is that it’s one of the oldest watch shops in the city. And from our surveys, Torontonians who love watches know and love Right Time!

They’ve been around since 1999, which further grew our confidence, leading us to think that they’re more than qualified to work on watches. We also think it’s worth highlighting that they also offer expert repair and maintenance services that cover all brands.

Our only gripe with Right Time is that they don’t offer some of the most well-known luxury brands in the market right now. However, it’s easy to look past this if you’re not looking for anything flashy and just want a high-quality timepiece.

Pros

  • Features an impressive selection of luxury watches
  • Great service centre
  • Decades of experience

Cons

  • Lacks entry-level to mid-level brands
  • Some items are overpriced

Canadian Watch Imports was a company that we had high hopes for, as it’s one of the oldest shops in the country, being around since 1979. Fortunately, as we dug deeper, we found out good reasons for this kind of longevity.

For starters, they offer a plethora of eye-catching luxury watches, ranging from names like Rolex, Omega, Breitling and more. Some of the models they carry are ridiculously beautiful too, like their diamond-studded Rolex DATEJUST.

But, we think that the biggest highlight of this shop is its service centre, as they’re one of the best to do it. One of the reasons why we say this is because they carry thousands of parts for countless brands, making repairs that much easier.

It’s also worth noting that they can work on different models, whether it be mechanical wind watches, automatics, tourbillons, coaxials, and anything in between.

Something we didn’t like about this store is that they only offer luxury brands, which could limit their target audience. The closest brand they have to being “affordable” is Seiko.

It doesn’t help that some of the luxury watches they have on display feature an inflated rate, which is an issue that’s been called out by some of their past clients.
