Pros
- Offers discounts to qualified clients
- Dogs are split into energy and size appropriate groups
- Handles dogs with anxiety issues
- Has an indoor and outdoor area
- Staff maintains cleanliness
Cons
- Closed on weekends
- Charges late pick-up fees
What really stands out about Sprockett’s Doggy Day Camp Inc. is how evident their love for dogs is. From the moment we walked through the doors until our pup came home tired from all the fun, we were amazed by their excellent care!
To give you an idea, their team tunes in and cares for each dog accordingly. Sometimes, they even offer one-on-one training during a 90-minute daycare session at no extra charge!
And for peace of mind, we like that the dogs get split into energy and size-appropriate groups. So, you won’t have to stress about your older dog getting pestered by the energetic young pups or your tiny dog getting trampled by a Saint Bernard.
It’s also admirable that they give time and effort to help your anxious dog get comfortable and warm up to the place with the other dogs.
We also like that they have an indoor and outdoor area for optimum playtime. Plus, from our surveys, they’re always aware of the surroundings for any mess to clean it up immediately.
But just a heads up, you better be mindful of the pick-up time because they charge a $5 fee for up to the first 15 minutes late per dog. That said, there’s a 10% discount for firefighters, paramedics, military, and senior citizens to help you cut costs.
Regardless, we highly recommend Sprockett’s Doggy Day Camp Inc. for its caring and attentive staff, especially for your trembling fur babies.

Pros
- Offers a free first visit
- Prioritizes dog safety and well-being
- Active on social media platforms
- Has many regulars
- Friendly and welcoming
- Has an online booking system
Cons
- Closed on Sundays and Mondays
- Can improve on keeping anxious or uncomfortable dogs
Good news for dog owners who suddenly miss their pups on a random work day – Bark Lodge is highly active on social media. You can try to spot your photos or videos of your dog having fun throughout the day — it also doubles as transparency of their services.
We like that they’re friendly and welcoming to owners and their dogs. They introduce your dog to the others to ensure everyone gets acquainted and feels right at home in the daycare.
Lucky for newcomers, they offer a free first visit that includes a 90-minute assessment. It’s basically a chance for them to check out how your dog holds up in the daycare.
However, we’re a bit iffy regarding some instances wherein they no longer continue to work with a constantly anxious or uncomfortable dog after seeing them for just one to two sessions.
Despite that, we got to commend them for prioritizing the safety and well-being of the dogs through the policies they implement.
For instance, you won’t be able to see the daycare from the lobby to avoid getting the dogs riled up. They also ask to remove harnesses or collars to avoid getting snagged or having a paw, tooth, or an entire jaw stuck under it.
Overall, Bark Lodge is a solid choice for a safe and fun place for your dogs, considering they have many regulars who have been caring for the dogs since they were puppies!

Pros
- Offers free 90-minute assessments
- Available 24/7
- Doesn’t charge late pick-ups
- Helps develop socialization skills
- Has a large and well-maintained facility
Cons
- Charges daycare lunches
- Some reports of not accepting dogs
Happy Tails Pet Resort & Spa boasts its 8,000-square-foot facility of luxury pet care located at East Kildonan! This location caters to dogs only, with vast daycare areas complete with safe and clean antimicrobial flooring systems — a neat feature for dogs just running around.
We appreciate that they encourage every potential client to come and visit them for a free tour around their facility.
On top of this, you can also book your dog for a free 90-minute assessment to see how things go and if their daycare is a match. It also allows the Happy Tails team to evaluate your dog to ensure they will have a great time during their stay and discuss our evaluation with you.
On the downside, we think their assessments can be too strict on some dogs since we noted some clients who weren’t able to proceed due to their dog’s behaviour. Most are overly anxious or excited dogs, which staff flag as a safety concern for the other dogs.
Though we applaud their sentiment to provide a safe space, we hope they work on having separate programs for anxious dogs.
At the end of the day, we love the well-maintained facility of Happy Tails Pet Resort & Spa and its track record of successfully developing the dogs’ social skills.

Pros
- Ample care and areas for anxious dogs
- Provides specialized care for little dogs
- Has a private social media page for dog posts
- Attentive and caring team
Cons
- Closed on weekends
- Charges late pick-up fees
- Charges cancellations with less than 24 hours notice
The unique thing about The Little Dog House Small Dog Center is that — true to its name — they only work with little dogs.
On that note, no need to worry if you have a small pup because they’ll be hanging out and playing with dogs their own size. It’s a stress-free zone for little dogs who might feel a bit overwhelmed by the big ones.
We also love that they put in the time and effort to care for your anxious fur babies. For instance, they divide the space in two, one for play and higher energy dogs and one like a home for lower energy or anxious pups who want to cuddle up in comfort.
But unlike home, you can’t simply leave them there; you should remember to pick them up on time to avoid getting charged $5 for every 15 minutes past pick-up.
And if you’re planning to cancel, we suggest you do it at least two days before since you’ll pay if it’s less than a 24-hour notice.
It’s also worth noting that they have a private Facebook group where you can view photos and videos of your dogs at the daycare — just enough to give you a mood boost!
Lastly, we appreciate The Little Dog House Small Dog Center for its attentive and caring team that truly looks out for the little guys.

Pros
- Has a daycare schedule
- Provides breakfast and dinner times
- Develops socialization skills
- Available seven days a week
- Has an online booking system
Cons
- Can improve individual attention to dogs
- Can improve dealing with anxious dogs
Central Bark Inc. is a family-run business that provides a grooming salon, doggie daycare, and boarding facility.
What we like most about their services is that they have a schedule of how a typical daycare session goes down on their website. To give you an idea, they start with playtime, short breaks and even a naptime to finish the day.
We also like that they provide breakfast and dinner times as part of their regular daycare schedules. You won’t have to worry about your dog shivering in hunger when you’re not around.
But we’re quite concerned about the attention they give to each dog individually since there have been reports wherein they forget to follow specific instructions or requests from owners.
And though they’re used to dealing with different personalities, we think they should improve on how they handle anxious dogs, especially since they sometimes mistake it for aggressive behaviour.
On a positive note, from what we’ve seen, many clients are more than happy to see their fur babies improve their socialization skills and have a greater tolerance for being with other dogs. You can set that playdate you’ve always wanted with your friends!
Finally, should you consider Central Bark Inc. for their services, you can easily set a schedule via their online booking system on their website.

Pros
- Meticulous attention to safety and comfort
- Flexible and affordable daycare packages
- Behavioral exam requirement ensures a safe environment
Cons
- Strict non-refundability and non-splittability of packages
The Neon Dragon Ltd., located in Winnipeg, is a female-founded and managed establishment owned by Carly Odidison and Nikki Carruthers. With over 21 years of combined experience in dog grooming, Carly and Nikki bring a wealth of knowledge and passion to the business. The Neon Dragon offers a range of services, including dog grooming, in-home boarding, and a unique small dog daycare called the Ultra Lounge. This daycare is divided into micro and mini lounges for dogs of different sizes, providing a safe, comfortable, and interactive environment.
Furthermore, the Ultra Lounge areas are 100% supervised by professional hosts and hostesses, ensuring that all dogs are well looked after. The lounges feature non-slip, anti-microbial flooring, which is ideal for small dogs’ feet and joints. The designated lavatory areas help maintain potty training, reducing mess and stress for both dogs and their owners. Additionally, the requirement for all dogs to pass a behavioral exam ensures that only well-behaved dogs are admitted, fostering a harmonious and safe environment.
Owners can choose from options ranging from a single cocktail hour to monthly unlimited passes, catering to various needs and budgets. The affordability of these packages, combined with the quality of care provided, makes The Neon Dragon an attractive option for dog owners. The daycare also offers unique services such as “Dragons After Dark,” allowing for extended stay hours, and personalized party packages to celebrate special occasions for pets, enhancing the overall experience.
However, there are some cons to consider when utilizing The Neon Dragon’s dog daycare services. The strict policies, such as the non-refundability of packages and the inability to split packages into different types of sessions, may not suit all customers.
In conclusion, The Neon Dragon Ltd. provides a high-quality, safe, and enjoyable dog daycare experience in Winnipeg. The meticulous attention to safety and comfort, combined with flexible and affordable packages, makes it an excellent choice for dog owners seeking reliable care for their pets. For those willing to adhere to the policies and accept the risks, The Neon Dragon offers a superior daycare experience.
