The thing about online cremation services is the lack of human support. But if you’re fine with phone assistance, they’re a 5/5 on that front, as they’re available 24/7 with human customer support, not a chatbot.

Moreover, their staff will handle the paperwork, collection of the deceased, and removal of the medical device (if applicable). It’s clear and simple, which is why they’re ideal for clients living outside of Montreal.

We found them quite affordable since there are no overhead costs, costing $1,900 plus tax. But there is a lack of ceremonies or viewings, so you’re going to have to do that in a different place once you’ve received the ashes.

It’s an all-inclusive service, though, since they handle transportation and delivery of the ashes in and outside of Montreal.

Incredibly, their ongoing aftercare support is part of what you’re paying for—most clients appreciated this, mainly for the staff’s compassionate approach. Even better, they’re available day and night.

Complexe Funéraire Aeterna et Crématorium has everything under one roof. They will handle the funeral service and cremation, and since they have a columbarium on site, you can bring the deceased to their final resting place.

The complete care you receive makes them a convenient option in Montreal, especially if you prefer a viewing to say a final goodbye. In addition, their crematorium can accommodate up to 50 people for ceremonies.

We mostly appreciate that the cremation is personalised based on traditions and beliefs. Plus, families who have hired them appreciated their accommodating nature.

Even without 24/7 availability, their staff has shown compassion and complete professionalism to grieving families. Some clients did appreciate the evening hours for ceremonies.

The catch is, their services aren’t the most affordable, since the basic package starts at $2,744.99. It’s quite a jump compared to other cremation services on our Montreal list, but it is comprehensive, with a 4-hour room rental and body preparation.

Many probably already know Centre funéraire Côte-des-Neiges, considering it’s one of North America’s largest funeral homes. But it’s the convenient option of having the wake and cremation in one service that made us include them.

They’re an all-around accessible cremation service in Montreal, as they have a team coming from various cultures and religions. It helps that they speak languages other than English and French (like Mandarin and Spanish).

We were also pleased with their facilities, ideal for large ceremonies. There are chapels, reception rooms, and parking spaces to give families and friends a chance to say their final goodbyes.

Mainly, it was because of their cremation options that the process was hassle-free for grieving families. Clients can choose to have a direct cremation, a funeral before the cremation, ash scattering, and cremation memorial jewellery.

However, some of the families we spoke with were quite let down by communication mishaps, like slow follow-ups. Price-wise, they’re not the cheapest either, but we do appreciate the billing transparency.

Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Homes has three locations in Montreal that are open 24/7, making them accessible day and night to grieving families.

It’s their Sherbrooke funeral home we’re including in our list, which is ideal for traditional memorials and cremation services. Their facility is a 1940s story brick house with modern reception rooms and a chapel that can accommodate up to 250 people.

We think they’re a good fit for those who want a personalised service for the deceased. The staff, who speak French, English, and Russian, can assist in personalising the wake based on the deceased’s interests and personality.

In addition, we appreciate how comforting their cremation service is. There’s an option of delivering the ashes by mail and cremation jewellery, which is basically placing a small portion of ashes in a personal trinket.

Cremation isn’t the most affordable here, however. It starts at $2,820, which is quite high for Montreal, but we do appreciate the compassionate service we’ve seen throughout.
