Pros
- Has four types of cranes
- Available 24/7
Cons
- Has no tower cranes
If you need crane services for small to medium-scale projects, you may fancy picking N-Force Crane & Equipment Ltd.
The company has been in business since 2005. It is good to know that it has over a decade of experience because the maintenance and using cranes require skills that are only possible to get through time.
It has four types of cranes to choose from: boom trucks, mobile cranes, all-terrain cranes, and rough terrain cranes. The last one is why they stand out from its competitors because it is one of the few crane services providers that have that.
N-Force’s rough terrain cranes can carry up to 75 tons of weight in difficult operation areas. So if your project is on rocky or challenging terrain, this is perfect.
If you are unsure which type of crane you will rent, we are glad to tell you that its website has photos with details about its equipment.
Regarding the quality of their customer service, clients of the N-Force we interviewed stressed that the workers are punctual and efficient in installing the crane on site.
But, N-Force has some shortcomings as a crane-service provider. For example, it does not have tower cranes for high-rise or tall-building projects.
If you need cranes for the said type of work or project, you may look at our other entries in this list if you are looking for this type of crane.

Pros
- Has three types of cranes
- Proof of work has brief and helpful details
Cons
- Has no tower cranes
- Relatively younger company
Who does not like a company that showcases the projects they did in a well-detailed manner for clients to see properly? McIntyre Crane & Rigging Ltd. is one of the crane service providers that fit this description perfectly.
Among all the crane companies on our list, McIntyre is the only one that included background and its thought-process on the project it was involved in. You can even see a time-lapse video of some of it on their social media pages.
Similarly, it also puts brief yet comprehensive information about the equipment it offers. We are glad that newbies or clients unfamiliar with this field can familiarize themselves with the help of this feature.
But, compared to other crane services companies, McIntyre has a fewer number of cranes to offer. Plus, it only has three types: boom truck, truck mount, and all-terrain.
Still, this would not be an impediment if you or your team would do house or small commercial projects.
Meanwhile, McIntyre and its staff are known by their previous clients for being quick in delivering–one client shared their cranes arrived within 12 to14 hours. The same clients also commended its workers’ prioritization of safety on site.
But in terms of years of operation, McIntyre is a relatively younger company than those we have on the list.
Although some may consider this a weakness, we think this would not be a big deal since the company’s head has been in the crane service industry since 1998.

Pros
- Has gantry crane
Cons
- Has fewer types of cranes
- Closed on weekends
Are you looking for cranes perfect for your oil, power, or mining company? Next on our list is Donald Rigging’s crane services, which may be the fitting choice for a large-scale project for your company.
Unlike the other crane service provider in Calgary, Donald is the only one that offers gantry cranes perfect for transferring different load types.
It’s also noteworthy that Donald Rigging has been providing heavy lifting services since 1997.
Its cranes are capable of moving up to 350 tons. Also, it can be set up and used by either two or four legs providing flexibility and room for adjustments on your project site’s location.
However, gantry cranes are the only type of crane it has in the warehouse. So if you are looking for boom trucks or tower cranes, consider the other crane providers on our list.
Meanwhile, it received praise from previous clients for its team’s honesty and transparency on which type of crane is the most appropriate and safest for the situation. Also, Donald’s team is noted to be strict in sticking to the project’s time frame.
And coffee lovers considering visiting Donald’s office would have a great experience because the company offers free coffee for visiting or inquiring clients – a plus in our books!

Pros
- In business since 1988
- Has cranes for tall infrastructure projects
- Provides detailed information on their equipment
Cons
- Has no smaller crane types
- Closed on weekends
Morwest Crane & Services Ltd. has been in the crane services business since 1988 and is the company on our list with the most years of experience. So, it is the right choice if you are more inclined to trust a company that has stood the test of time.
But Morwest’s over 30 years of experience is not only its highlight. Among all the crane services we listed, it is the only one that offers tower cranes for rent.
Tower cranes are perfect for projects involving lifting heavy loads on extreme heights. And if your team is working on a high-rise condominium or building, it is the right team.
Separated into three types, the hammerheads, luffers, and derricks, the company has 13 cranes available for rent. We also appreciate that it posted the specifics of each kind of equipment on its website.
However, one thing that stood out for us is that Morwest has a video montage of its involvement in various projects in Canada and the US. This is impressive because it shows their vast experience in providing crane services.
Unfortunately, tower cranes are the only type of crane it has in its selection. So consider it off your list if you or your team is working on a small or medium-scale project.
5. Stampede Crane & Rigging

Pros
- Has four types of cranes
- Has over 650 cranes for renting
- Has case studies on the website
- Has donation drives
Cons
- Has poor quality equipment photos on its website
One of the things to know if a crane service company is good enough for hiring and competent to do the job is to know its thought process on projects. And we are glad that Stampede Crane & Rigging is there to take this role.
Stampede is the only one with case studies posted on its website, thus making them unique among others. This feature contains ample information about the project it was with, such as the date, problem, approach, and result.
However, we wish it exerted the same level of effort on their gallery section. Unlike other crane services’ websites, its pictures are low in quality and barely recognizable.
Now, when it comes to what type of cranes it offers, it has four: all-terrain, picker, rough terrain, and crawler cranes. Whether you are planning to use cranes for agricultural, oils and gas, construction, power transmission, or wind energy projects, Stampede has it.
Aside from that, we also like that it included the specs of their cranes so clients can immediately know which ones to choose from the get-go.
Also, there will be no shortage of cranes for Stampede’s clients since they have 650+ cranes ready for renting. However, on the downside, they do not have a tower crane.
Another thing we like about Stampede is its intention to give back to the community. For example, in 2017, it launched a donation drive to give Christmas hampers to some of the families in Calgary and fundraising toward ending domestic violence.
One last thing worth mentioning about Stampede is its years of experience. It has been providing crane services for Calgary and other cities in Alberta since 1990, just two years younger than Morwest.

- Hassle-free transactions
Cons
- Concrete rates are not readily available of their services
Kristian Electric Ltd is a company that provides clients with a wide array of machinery and equipment specializing in lifting, welding, and heating for various construction projects and interrelated purposes.
We like that their website is both user-friendly and informative. Clients can browse through the catalog of their offered products along with customization options with the respective specifics to better help clients asses their needed equipment.
Furthermore, they also accommodate both old and new equipment on those that they offer to ensure that clients get the best quality equipment options at their desired functionality and budget as well.
Note though that rates of the said catalog of equipment aren’t readily available on their website to which interested clients may need to inquire further for more information on this.
Overall, with their excellent and accommodating team of professionals, a wide array of equipment offered to clients, and an informative website to avail of their services, we highly recommend clients looking for such equipment to check out.
