While we are a bit concerned that they don’t supply linens and dishware, they do assist you in sourcing any of your rental needs.

We love that they offer complimentary tasting sessions, which gives clients a preview of what to expect in terms of  quality. Clients just need to book an appointment, which is also no-obligation.

Just a heads up: the company encourages booking catering orders at least 10 days ahead for private events, 2 days ahead for corporate events, and 3 months ahead for weddings. 

This helps them maintain quality and address any food restrictions in advance.

That said, we’ve heard cases of cancelled bookings without proper explanations, even if the bookings were done 2 months before the schedule. 

We suggest going over the catering contract thoroughly to get compensation for any instances of a breach.

Clients can also avail their in-home chef to cook a custom menu for events or private gatherings.

Lastly, we were happy to learn that their ingredients are locally sourced to both help the community and ensure fresh produce and food quality for their dishes.

We are impressed by the variety in their menus, from the usual Canadian favourites to even an East Indian selection. 

Clients also have the option to discuss a customised lineup and other preferences.

It also helps that their rates are readily available online for their set options, and other menu choices are up for negotiation based on the client’s budget.

However, we heard some complaints about the food preparation and quality, specifically with their meat dishes.

Additionally, we spoke with clients who had issues with their catering contracts and had unpaid deposit refunds. Apparently, the company asked them to terminate the contract due to their incapacity to continue with the request.

Clients are advised to be firm and insist on getting compensation to avoid escalating to legal intervention.

On a better note, the company only requires a 2-day order notice, unlike the usual week-long notices from their counterparts. But they also accommodate short notices as long as their resources are available.

They offer a diverse range of cuisines to cater to as many client preferences as possible. Their popular choices include Italian, Indian, Thai, Mexican, Mediterranean and Chinese.

But do note that their prices are slightly higher at $120 per head. While this is inclusive of serving staff, tabletop rentals, and nonalcoholic beverages, it’s relatively high compared to $50-$100 rates from other companies with the same inclusions.

We are pleased with their 48-hour order notice and 5-day notice for custom requests, compared to the 7 to 10-day notice requirement of their competitors. 

Another thing we love is that they accept individual orders from guests with the help of their online request forms. This helps avoid missing out on any allergy concerns and assures that each guest gets what they want.

Although, it has come to our attention that there are reports of late and unanswered queries, especially during peak season. 

Established in 1969, Roma Catering Services is a family-run business offering a variety of different menus. These can be customised to meet client preferences with an assortment of food selections.

Aside from catering, they can organise facility bookings, entertainment and decor — saving clients from all the stressful preparations.

They were able to gain loyal clients, having catered for their for weddings, office, and private parties on multiple occasions. This is a testament to their food quality and well-organised services.

It’s also good that rates are available for most of their menu options, and custom orders can be negotiated according to client needs and capacity.

As for their delivery and pickup services, we are pleased that they only require a minimum of 5 persons for any in-home events, with rates that only range between $15 to $30 per person.

Unfortunately, their food selection and custom orders are limited to mostly Italian cuisine. 

And despite focusing on a single cuisine, there are apparently still complaints regarding the taste of their dishes and the need to improve the overall quality.

That said, we think they’re an ideal choice for small and budget-friendly gatherings to ensure the quality of the food.
